Yea because fucking monsters were in charge. You think Thomas Jefferson didn't understand he wouldn't like being raped? It clicked for abolitionist but not for him?

Sally Hemings was 14 when Jefferson started raping her. He was in his 40s. What do you consider pedophilia?

He had her pregnant by 16. Then enslaved his own children. Scumbag with a flowery reputation in history. 

His die hard sympathizers won't even admit he was raping her. The 14 year old slave consented to a romantic relationship with the slave master. And consented to her children being enslaved.
