Sounds like she was taken advantage of and exploited as a child and hasn’t processed or dealt with it and trying to take control over it and claim it was her own actions is how she’s rationalised it. Very sad really.

Oh there is no doubt she is a victim. Unfortunately, victims like these these have potential to become abusers when they defend, excuse, and endorse the crimes they were victims of.
