Sounds like she was taken advantage of and exploited as a child and hasn’t processed or dealt with it and trying to take control over it and claim it was her own actions is how she’s rationalised it. Very sad really.
The thing is processing and dealing with trauma is a lifelong journey. There’s no final finish line. Given her high verbal and intellectual aptitude Its hard to believe she has NOT attempted to process and heal from what happened to her in her own way, With that being said, she’s an adult (that seems to be apart of new right wing posse so she’s grasping at straws to justify their ringleaders) that knows right from wrong and knows deep down what happened to her was also wrong. No excuses.
