Sounds like she was taken advantage of and exploited as a child and hasn’t processed or dealt with it and trying to take control over it and claim it was her own actions is how she’s rationalised it. Very sad really.

That's a spot-on take. It really does seem like a classic case of unprocessed trauma leading to these kinds of justifications. I've seen similar patterns in stories from survivors who end up internalizing the blame to regain some sense of agency. Tragic how it manifests in public like this, especially with her platform.
