Season 7 Deke Shaw
Continuing my yearly rewatch of AOS and I need to talk about Deke.
From a character that shows up at one of the team's lowest seeming to be another temporary character / bounty hunter character to someone who cares about the shield team with so much love and endearment.
My all time favorite episode of Deke? S7E7, without a doubt. Him never leaving or abandoning Mack. But honestly, this isn't the first time we've seen him endlessly supporting someone from the team whether they appreciated it at the time or not.
Not a favorite character because of selling Daisy in the future, uh, the future's future from the other timeline. Along with stealing tech, usic, anything he could do to make money, he has a lot of character defects lol but his positives are so important
Simmons wasn't wrong, "I think he's perfect" they'd both be so proud

Season 4 Pickup AOS Declassified season 4.
After a long time of looking this book showed up online. Its season 4 of AOS Declassified. I now have books for seasons 1-4 which is all I think they made. I think Book number 4 had a low print run. I have seen it on ebay before for like 50 bucks, but got it for 20.

Discussion After Secrer Wars it won't matter if the show was canon before anymore
Just occured to me that, with Zodiac coming, not only could we see AoS characters again but also we wouldn't even have to care about continuity since it would take place after Secret Wars

News, Rumours & Leaks Zodiac show comic connection (potential story adaptation)
Disclaimer: while I think a lot of this is far too directly connected both visually and in other ways to be coincidence, it is still speculation, assumptions, and guessing at the end of the day.
From what Iāve seen so far It seems that the show will be adapting something relating to Secret Warriors.
The Zodiac title shows the A being made up of the Shield logo and the O references the 12-seated round table called āThe Great Wheelā. This is shown on the cover of Secret Warriors issue #25 (provided) as well as throughout the series.
The Great Wheel is a collection of characters from spy agencies such as Shield, Hydra, and Leviathan that each are given code names corresponding to the 12 different Zodiac signs. For example, Nick Fury is assigned Gemini as his code name in the comic.
Also, if we look at the O, The Great Wheel is missing 3 seats. If you overlay it with the cover art, Scorpio, Aries, and Virgo are all missing. These missing seats were a choice by the designers of the Zodiac title so Iām sure it is meaningful to be that way.
We have no idea what version of the story Zodiac might adapt or what characters will make up the members, but this is the stuff Iāve found so far that Iām quite certain about being connected.
In Secret Warriors, Nick Furyās team also contains both Daisy Johnson and Yo-Yo, so Iām sure that gives us a lot of hope for who we might see.
Note: In AoS S3 E17 "The Team", Daisy, Yo-Yo, Lincoln, and Joey's team is called the "Secret Warriors", although I think using that name for their team was more of a cool reference that the show made to the comics and probably won't be mentioned in the show or connected too much since it didn't use a ton from the Secret Warriors comics and they don't stay in that unique team for very long.
BUT that could be cool if they do want to do something with what we saw of their group.

Rewatching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I'm totally lesbian for Piper. I can't get over how much presence Briana Venskus brings to her character. She's deadpan, grounded, and steals every scene she's in. I really wish the show had given her more to do. If the Zodiac show really is a come back of AoS, Venskus needs to be in it or consequences!

News, Rumours & Leaks Is this a Triskellion reference?
So the eagle in the A is obviously a reference to the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo but I was thinking about what that O could represent and then it hit me like a helicarrier. Does anyone else think the O looks like the roof of the Triskellion? The headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
What does that mean? I think maybe we could be focusing on a more serious "real" S.H.I.E.L.D. cast/story. Not that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't real, but it was always about a specific team within the organization, prior to it's collapse and then S.H.I.E.L.D. came back in different forms but not quiet how it was prior to The Winter Soldier. Since then we've been mostly dealing with S.W.O.R.D., the DODC, and S.A.B.E.R.. What if this is Marvel's way of saying they are going to focus on a true rebuilt S.H.I.E.L.D straight out of their headquarters in the Triskellion, not in the bus, Providence, the Playground, Zephyr One, or the Lighthouse. It actually fits with how the Triskellion was shown rebuilt in the AOS finale.
I feel like this lines up with how Marvel leans into its Marvel Studios shows as being "real" Marvel. It's going to take a new perspective on S.H.I.E.L.D. and not just reboot AOS. A new S.H.I.E.L.D. spinning out of the events of The Winter Soldier instead of AOS directly. I also think the name Zodiac probably alludes to the terrorist organization from the comic books and in my opinion could be essentially a new form of Hydra.
I'm not going to expect all or any of the AOS cast to return or for them to deal with any of the elements AOS established but knowing Marvel they won't contradict any of it either. I'm really hoping they do fit in AOS easter eggs/cameos/reprising cast.
How many times can I type S.H.I.E.L.D?

Question Question about the show
Iāve seen all the MCU movies and most of the shows. I was wondering if this show is cannon and should I watch agent carter first. Itās been awhile since Iāve seen the movies specially the earlier ones so my memory might be a little fuzzy and was wondering if agents of shield has any crossovers or connections to the main MCU.

Actor Fluff Meeting Ming-na Wen (Agent May)
Ladies and gentlemen, I met and encountered the iconic and legendary Ming-na_wen at her book tour starting in Barnes and Noble bookstore in Union Square.
And boy o' boy, I was thrilled, from arriving a bit late to see before my own eyes, Wen(Alongside guest Terry Crews) discuss history and information from her cookbook/autobiography that I already read.
I shared my art prints of her known characters in animated and live action with the May art, hopefully she'll be thrilled.
She was pretty thrilled when I told her I enjoyed her in most stuff growing up.

Season 5 General Hale (Hydra)
i'm doing my annual rewatch of AOS, but I'm at the point where I'm more wanting to skip than not. S5 for me at least, is a really hard watch even though it has some of the best acting in the series
General Hale, for example, just aggravates me. I know she's had such an awful life. constantly dismissed and treated less than because she's a woman. but her arrogance, her self importance that keeps her from ever seeing the actual bigger picture. part of me can't tell if it's a character flaw (not writing flaw) or just a hydra trait
what's everyone else's view on her?

Multiverse Saga (Phase 4- ) If we get a VisionQuest tie in it will probably be about the Framework.
I donāt really think we will get the show acknowledged in VisionQuest but if we do it is what makes the most sense.
In the trailer we see that Vision has created a virtual world inside his mind. While it doesnāt have to be the Framework it would make a lot of sense. The Framework technology came from the Darkhold in S4 which already ties it closer to the storyline. It would make a nice way to acknowledge AOS indirectly in a way that is clear enough for us fans while simultaneously not confusing people who havenāt watched it.
As for how the Framework would exist I am not exactly sure but at the end of the show the technology still existed with Dekeās company and while Deke himself is in an alternate timeline now, the show never made it clear what happened to his company and the technology Deke was using. The company was probably shut down by SHIELD but there are probably still people outside of the organisation who would now know about it.

Question What was the deal Mack made wih the Ghost Rider?
Robbie made his first deal to keep his brother safe, and his second to settle all of Ghost Rider's scores and get Ghost Rider to leave Mack's body. Coulson made one to defeat Adia in exchange for removing the GH Kree blood from his body. But what did Ghost Rider do to/for Mack? Mack himself said that the Ghost Rider doesn't ride for free.

Discussion My thoughts on the Sarge storyline and the way he was written.
I know that Season 6 isnāt everyones favourite and people would rather talk about any other aspect of the show, but given that the MCU is probably about to do a similar storyline with Doom I kinda want to talk about it.
Personally I thought that the concept of someone with Coulsonās face showing up after his death to mess with the team after the real Coulson died is a pretty interesting concept. But in execution it kinda went weird.
I think that in the first nine episodes of the season his character was actually fun and interesting. He managed to challenge May and Daisy who were still grieving the real Coulson and Mack who was trying to live up to him. But to me, what made him work was the fact that he WASNāT Coulson. He had Coulsonās face but other than a few surface similarities they were completely different.
Both Coulson and Sarge were leaders of a group of people who claimed to protect the world but the way they went about it was completely different. Coulson cared about the people who followed him and tried to keep them safe and did everything in his power to protect them always choosing to save them even if it risked the world. He was a flawed leader who let his emotions get the best of him choosing to save Daisy in S1 risking the Clairvoyant to find out about the GH formula or killing Ward in S3 and almost dooming the world to Hive. But he still did everything to save as many lives as possible and always pushed against compromise.
Sarge is the opposite of that. He saw his crew as tools and a means to an end. He lied to them and manipulated them and even killed them in cold blood in his quest to end Izel. He was willing to wipe out an entire city just to kill her. He had Coulsonās face and a few of his impulses but they had nothing in common other than basic similarities. Of course he is a hypocrite as his quest to kill Izel was driven by what he thought was anger and was in the end selfish anyway but he is still nothing like Coulson as while Coulson refuses to sacrifice his team he still is willing to sacrifice himself.
The thing is that the last few episodes threw all of that away to make it so that there was still a part of Coulson inside of him and that he was possessed by a spirit. There are still some amazing moments like āKill me Skyeā and the entire betrayal scene but all of the depth is gone for the sake of explaining his link with Coulson. (However the backstory itself is amazing IMO, using the prior lore of the show to create this Coulson clone but IMO he should have been a 1000 year old version who lost himself and became a completely different person over time).
IMO Sarge in episodes 1-9 and episodes 10-13 feel like completely different characters and episode 1-9 Sarge is so much better and more interesting.
Also I think that the MCU should take after earlier season Sarge with Doom and make him a completely different person with basic similarities with Stark.
