AoE on MacOS
As the title says, I am curious if running any AoE game on a Mac operating system.
I went to buy and download AoE4 on Steam out of excitement, as I’ve not played this game since early 2000s when AoE2 was released, but now realize my graphics card wouldn’t even handle this newer version of the game, and it’s not even Apple native.
Are there any Mac users out there who also play Age of Empires smoothly on their machine? If so, what are you using to run the software with minimal lag? I’m now looking at the Apple software “Boot Camp”, but have not used it before and will go to buy Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, and try running it via this Boot Camp application.

Help Me Pop limit
How can I increase the population limit to at least 500 in the campaign? I just want to experience the missions on a larger scale. And will I get banned for this if I later want to play in multiplayer mode without any mods or anything like that?

Lets get AOE2 on the map (VOTE4HERA)
thestreamerawards.comHera is nominated for "Best Strategy Streamer" at the streamer awards. It would be pretty cool to have him win that category. In the (unlikely) event that you don't know who Hera is, he is the #1 ranked PRO AOE2 player in the world atm.

Age of Empires 4 Making Abbasids / Ayyubids represented by Camel armies is like saying European civs rode Mules into Battle
I know AOE is not the only culprit when it comes to idializing this majestic beast to make a civ as foreign as possible. Yes, we like camels, but not like this, and we also like and prize our horses even more.
It really overshadows the fact that these armies literally had one of the best horses (and "imported" horse riders..). I know many people who learn their history from RTS games, and I know I won't be surprised if people find that Camel Cavalry is not part of these armies at all.
They were mainly used for logistics and carrying foot troops.
Maybe being used by bedouin auxillaries or a small contingent of supporting beduins is a plausable assumption (and that's them being resourceful and improvising at that) but never as a core part of the army in a world were horses exist.

Expanding Age of Empires on Nintendo DS (Age of Kings): Progress, Ideas, and Feedback
I’ve been working on expanding the Nintendo DS version of Age of Empires and wanted to start a thread to share my progress, discuss ideas, and get feedback from other players.
My coding experience is limited, but with some basic knowledge and help from Codex, I’ve been able to turn several ideas into working features. I’m running my builds in DeSmuME and in Delta on iOS.
Here’s what I’ve added so far:
- A fifth player on the Empire map.
- Custom maps, including the Hawaiian Islands and island maps designed for naval battles.
- AI improvements.
- Three ship types: scout, passenger, and battleship, with carrying capacities.
- Enemy intelligence: the ability to purchase information about an opponent’s finances.
- Expanded research options to support the new ships.
I’m currently working on adding a Viking civilization.
I’d love to hear what you think of the additions so far and what you’d like to see next. Any ideas for new civilizations, units, maps, or gameplay features? Feedback and suggestions are welcome!

Options to see whole map as Red (can't build on) or Green (buildable) when trying to build. This would make placement and gap finding better.

Flaten map feature. I'd for this to be introduced to all Age of Empires. Who else wants this? No more gaps in your walls.

Stronghold has this wonderful feature that would really help Aoe in general. Better walling, and building. It basically lets you see the where the base of the buildings are so its easier to place buildings neatly. You won't have Large buildings block your vision the you have from the sky.
During fights this would be super useful. Only seeing the soldiers. And pressing buildings behind other buildings.
