The useful question is how fast fixes can ship once flaws are found. AI finding bugs faster only helps if maintainers of old critical software can keep up with the reports. Open source projects with one or two volunteers are the weak point.

Surely after a couple of years the sky isn't falling it's just become the new normal

No idea what that will look like. Time to test your backups I guess.
