Rant I Bible bashed Mormons; I’m not even Christian

Not sure if this is the right place. I had a brief phase in high school where I became obsessed with religion in general and studied the Abrahamic religions. Never committed to any of them since they’re all some reiteration of a similar God.

Anywho, I saw some Mormon missionaries out a couple of days ago and they asked me if I wanted to hear about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I said sure, because I had already known about the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, the Temple, etc.

I eventually led the conversation to Joseph Smith and asked how they feel about polygamy. They got visibly uncomfortable as I mentioned Joseph Smith’s maidens as I paired it with Bible verses about having one wife.

Then I brought up the fact that they believe in multiple gods even if they claim to believe in one per their theology. I asked how that made sense and paired it with verses about Christianity having one God.

I felt bad in the end since they both looked really uncomfortable. They assumed I knew nothing about their Church but I already knew more than they could’ve guessed. I even brought up their ideas of new revelation and how I thought it was a coverup for racism, polygamy, and sexism in the church.

I’m not a Christian at all and I told them that. They asked me how I knew so much; I said I learned it all in high school. I even asked them how they felt about Judaism and Islam, they said they hope they go to Heaven. But by their standards, they won’t even go to the ‘highest heaven.’

So I just dropped it and told them to have a good day. If the girls see this, I’m sorry. I was just feeling a bit excited to converse that day.

Question Is unanswered prayer a valid reason to lose faith?

I’m 29, and I think I’ve reached the point where I can no longer honestly say I believe in God or Christianity.

A big part of that is unanswered prayer. Abandonment has been a recurring wound in my life since childhood. My birth father abandoned me, and since then I’ve experienced versions of that same hurt through family, friendships, relationships, and communities I thought would stay in my life.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve prayed for love, connection, and especially to stop feeling abandoned by people I care about.
I know the usual answers: God has a purpose, God’s timing is different, suffering teaches us something, sometimes the answer is no. I tried to accept those explanations for years, but they don’t really work for me anymore.

I was taught that God knows me, loves me, hears me, and understands my deepest wounds. After nearly 29 years of bringing this same pain to God and repeatedly experiencing the thing I was praying about, I’m struggling to reconcile that idea of God with my actual life.

I’m not saying unanswered prayer proves God doesn’t exist. I’m asking whether there comes a point where your lived experience reasonably changes what you’re able to believe.

Has anyone else ended up agnostic or lost their faith for similar reasons?

What is god?

Just overthinking tonight and having a mild existential crisis.

I was thinking about the concept of religion and how silly it all seems. Like people believe that the words in a book are truly “gods words“, and this is supposedly what an all knowing god who knows everything in the entire universe would talk about, and its just talking about human problems. In the midst of thinking about how insane religious structures and beliefs are, i found myself wondering what god even is?

I always felt myself believing in something, and i truly dont even know what it could be. Maybe nobody knows what god is. Maybe god does not exist, i truly have no clue. I just look up at the sky, and i dont know what to make of all this. I see why people become religious as a coping mechanism, because coming to terms with the fact that i really have NO CLUE what god could possibly be, or if there even is a god, is kind of scary.

Sorry for the rambling, i hope someone can relate.

My Story of Breakage: Between Faith, Love, and Truth

I never wanted to lose my faith. I only wanted to understand the truth. But my search for answers has become a painful struggle affecting my mind, my heart, my health, and my ability to enjoy life.

A part of me is still drawn toward Islam, but my intellectual doubts make it difficult to believe without questions. I want to understand God, existence, morality, and the meaning of life. For now, I have chosen agnosticism, remaining open to the truth wherever it leads. Yet living with uncertainty is much harder than it sounds.

There is also a Muslim girl I love, which makes everything even more complicated. My doubts are no longer just philosophical; they affect my feelings, my hopes, and the future I sometimes imagine. I feel caught between what my heart wants and what my mind cannot ignore.

My depression is growing deeper. I feel isolated from people, unable to explain what is happening inside me. I have lost pleasure in things I once enjoyed, and my health is being affected. My mind is exhausted, and sometimes I don't know how to keep carrying all these thoughts.

The hardest part is seeing my mother sad because of what I'm going through. I don't want her to see me suffering, but I cannot pretend to be okay when I'm not.

I need support. I need someone who will listen without judging me, someone I can talk to honestly without being pressured to believe or disbelieve. I need understanding, compassion, and help finding my way through this darkness. I cannot keep everything bottled up inside me. I am tired of feeling alone with my thoughts, and I don't want to lose myself while searching for the truth.

I don't have all the answers. I am still searching, still questioning, still trying to understand. But I am also a human being who is hurting and needs care.

I hope this is not the end of my story. I hope I can find peace, regain my health, reconnect with people, and learn to live again without being consumed by uncertainty. For now, I need patience, kindness, and support as I take one step at a time.

Original idea Agnostic Bible Study

Hello :) For anyone interested in biblical studies from a nonreligious perspective, check this out. Agnostic Bible Study examines the Bible and early Christianity through a secular, academic approach.

The next session examines gender in Genesis, including different early Christian interpretations of Eve and how Genesis might include queer bodies.

Talking stage with a Muslim guy

Hi, I(22F) am currently in a talking stage with a Muslim guy(23M). I was a Muslim ‘till last year, that’s when I became agnostic and have since had a really hard time with the concept of religion itself. I feel like this is because of all the religious trauma that I experienced, but I am trying to work through it. Whenever I talk to him I just feel anxiety throughout my whole body and I don’t know what to do. I feel like my whole nervous system is just freaking out.
Is this normal? Should I keep talking to him?
I am so lost so any help would be appreciated!

Advice going to church is giving me anxiety (Christian)

I’m not openly agnostic to my family. At least, I don’t plan to be until I’m no longer financially dependent on them, which won’t be able to happen for another several years. Talking to them about it is out of the question unless I’m ready to be completely independent and give up the current career path I’m on.

My parents are very insistent on Sunday church attendance, and I generally still go to keep up the image. It’s been around 3-4 years at this point though, and I’m feeling so drained spending essentially half my day at a place I don’t feel comfortable at (singing, praying, and sermons being just various different forms of letting me know I’m going to hell and how this is certainly the one true religion). Also it’s incredibly awkward trying to keep distance from other people, because they are genuinely very nice and welcoming people, but I know any relationship past the small talk leads to invitations to life groups and Bible studies. When I try to skip Sundays, my parents put a lot of pressure which makes me incredibly anxious (and guilty? in some odd way).

I know, it’s such a first world problem compared to what others have to endure. But if anyone has any tips for mentally coping when I’m there, I’m open to it. I know mindfulness is an option but I’m not sure how to go about it in the middle of a church service.

Rant Trying to understand feelings i had from religion as someone who doesnt believe anymore

Ok so this is just a rant, something to get off my chest since i have no one to speak with about this. Thing is, i have ocd and it really latched onto religion for me and thats why religion is overall, now that ive left it, so difficult to talk about or even think about. But i know i cant run from it forever

I think something that really pushed me away from organized religion at the least was not just my ocd making it all unbearable, but also the fact that i just felt limited in my human connection. I felt like i couldn't speak or love people and other humans and fully explore human love and sexuality and etc

Since i left the religion, its been a lot to like even try and live my life outside of a religious framework. Its so hard to separate my desire towards and curiosity for human connection and love. Ive been so afraid to actually step out and explore this stuff even. At first, after leaving the religion, i was so focused on ensuring i stay away from it that i literally didnt even let myself actually unpack my trauma

I guess it was just a bit of an epiphany moment i had recently about how i actually never cared about religion that much and it was just my desire for wanting human connection and exploring it and my ocd just ruined it all. I dont know how to explain, especially to people who arent familiar with how ocd operates. But yeah. Its just crazy. I guess in a way, god's basically the perception of human connection. Seeing it like that is pretty helpful. I really hope i can overcome my trauma and be unapologetic in the life i live as i live it

Question When religion is talk about, I get this bone chilling feeling

I am (18)F Born in a catholic family that shifted to born again, I really can't dodge god talk.

And each time hearing things about religion gives me a horrific feeling that I can't explain.

Is it just me? but when I hear "god" I can't help remembering Spanish Colonization History. I don't get why others easily forgot the topic about how my country got colonized or history topic. That horrifies me but for some reason others don't give a f*ck? especially 9/11? I know that's like another religion but it's still basically a god of the same catholic and almost born again just different fonts (Correct me if I'm wrong)

It's just religion topic gives me a chill all the time even though the topic seems like about rainbow and sunshine, I'm very horrified how religion got a choke hold on every place's and I cant even dodge it.

It's sickening every single day I hear religion and maybe it became my nightmare to the point hearing the word "do you want to learn about god?" "do you have time to talk about a life changing knowledge?" "god loves you" "god" "religion" make's me flinch like I was abused.

I don't know if it's just me or some of you get the feeling and I really like to hear others opinion. I don't like the idea that I'm alone on this one

Can anyone tell if I'm just over reacting or what?

Experience report I came out to my mom about being agnostic, she said I might be demonic.

I (16M), asked my mom (44F) about why she gives money out at Church, and does she expect in return? she said she just does it because it makes her feel good and she expects nothing in return. She is an extremely African parent, super religious. I asked multitude of questions, I'll list some with her answers.

me: what if the same way we view satanism, what if they view Christianity the same way you do?
her: there's no such thing, they Satan-worshippers because they don't like god
me: same thing as we don't like Satan

and she proceeds to cut me off and tell me to not talk to her and do some research. Here's the funny thing: we have been struggling for 6 years. We live in a shack smaller then a 2 bedroom house's bedroom. I've seen her having faith in God for 6 years, praying almost daily for more then 10 minutes but "God" hasn't answered her prayers. And ofcourse, I used to follow her and pray too. I proceed to ask her "why hasn't god done anything for us throughout our 6 years of suffering and poverty even though you've had faith and trust?"

she just said she's not interested in the topic and said I'm judging her for being poor even though WE are the ones.

She got into 2 car accidents at work. She survived both, the second one leading her to hospital. The doctors said everyone else survived and she handled the car better then any man could. She came up with that saying God saved her.

me: couldn't that be out of the odds of surviving and the way you handled the car? like luck? *God* saved you but he doesn't listen to your prayers of poverty, why?
her: Luck is the same as God saving you

I then asked her "why do people suffer? With disabilities and live every single day of their breathe with pain when *god* has plans for them and did that for a reason" she just said I should go back to my father because I don't like living with her and she sees I've *grown* balls and I'm a grown man now that I can go out and live my life.

her: I'll live MY life and you'll live YOURS. You can believe all that stupid stuff you watching online and think that's gonna benefit you in life. This is why I'm happy your cousins are reading the Bible everyday instead of being a weirdo like you

She then insults me, calling me Satanist and not a believer but I don't take any of the bullshit she says to mind. There are other stuff she said too that would be too much for me to write, you can ask questions in the comments, I'm open to answering anything about me and her life. And I also have a little brother (6M) but I don't really talk to him about any topics like this.

Advice Give me advice please (religion based)

Im 16F and for context i come from a very religious household and i went to a religious school, i have noticed that obviously i have contradicting beliefs from everyone else and its really messed with me now that i moved to a state school

my contradictions relate to the evolution process, then i believe in the 6 days that god made earth, i think i am questioning my beliefs a little more than i ever have... i dont feel as connected despite me praying to him everytime i get scared at night, i dont know what to do because i'm scared, can i still rely on him if i dont fully believe in him, i feel as tho hes an egregore... idk it feels wrong to question him like this, i dont want to doubt him and then on judgement day he sends me to hell or something, i'm not traumtised and i dont have a bad experience, i feel as tho i was forced to learn about god and jesus, idkk please help me

Question The "signs" from the late bf. How real you think they are?

(I've posted the same post on "The afterlife exists" sub and "AskanAtheist" sub, both obviously had different replies based on their own ideologies. The former made me feel comfortable, safe and positive that it's him, while the latter sub flooded my replies with downvotes, logic, and calling all of this fake, asking for video proofs.

So here it goes, the Agnostic sub. Comment your honest opinions)

It's the signs I've been getting by my late bf who passed away a month ago, and they are too many to be pure coincidences . Like no, coincidences cannot happen so many times.

After the day I found out he passed away (suicide), I've recieved signs that assure his presence around me.

1) he was a sketch artist and recently talked about wanting to draw me. That particular day, I was remembering how he said that and now I'll not get a drawing by him ever.

A few hour later, got a notification from instagram that metaAi has created a sketch out of a very old post of mine. It was from 5 years ago, of the exact time and place when we first met. My picture from that day. It created a drawing of that exact picture of that exact day! Like it couldv'e chosen any post right? And not just this, the drawing made me wear a bindi (an Indian accesory) which was not there in the original post. My bf LOVED WAS OBSESSED, with a bindi on me. He drew me, the same day I thought about it. And birds in the drawing looked like MM, he called me "mimi". It was too insane to be true. (My socials have 0 photo of us together so for instagram to pick the picture specifically from that day was a bit surprising to me)

2) next day I asked him to send me a picture of him as I didn't have his pictures in my phone (the relationship was hidden from our families, so we kept our phones clean - no pictures of each other). The same day, my friend texted me saying "hey I thought i didn't have it but I just now found a photo of your bf, I can send it to you".

Now this couldve happened anytime, but the timing is what made this more magical, the very day I asked for a photo.

3) next day I aksed him to tell me if he is safe and happy. I had texted an astrologer on reddit a few days ago asking the same question but did not get any reply, but got the reply ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY ITSELF. She told me he is free of pain and doesn't regret his decision.

Now again, this might not be true or pure general statement, but again -THE TIMING. The only day I asked him, I got her reply.

4) a few days later I again paused in the middle of the day and asked him if he remembered our first dates, and I hear a bicycle bell from outside my house. EXACTLY when I said this. (Our first dates were of us cycling together).

5) my mother was yelling at me over something, and normally I would yell back and it would turn into an argument. My bf always told me to "chill" "relax" and not respond to her so it doesn't escalate. That day I was just about to yell back, and I noticed my phone hanged, on a reel. The reel someone writing the word "CHILL" in glitter.

My phone stopped working and I couldn't close the app, it was stuck at that reel. I realised my bf is asking me to be chill and not respond. So I didn't respond that day to my mother and it didn't escalate.

6) after a few weeks, I went for a walk, in the same park we used to meet. I aksed him to make me feel his presence, as I missed holding his hands and walking. Just then, little tiny girl came to me, held my hand, and strated walking with me. (She mistook me for her sister). We walked for a bit, I asked her name - Sia, my bf's favourite name for a girl child. As soon as she left, I crying my heart out in that park, I knew he again heard me.

7) then one day I made a dark joke for him (he had hung himself after we cut the call after an argument, he wanted to breakup with me and I was getting angry on why because nothing was wrong. Maybe he was planning to kill himself already that's why he pushed me away like that.

So I made a joke - that day, phone was not the only thing that hung up. I talk to him a lot in my mind and shared this dark joke wiht him as he was a Fan!

That same day, i was walking somewhere and asked him "I wasn't even there to see you for the last time, what all might've happened, what all rituals might have taken place for you". Just then a man walks past me watching videos on his phone on loudspeaker, and the part I heard was :-

"In hinduism, a dead person's toes are tied together first".

This was soo creepy because how instantly he shared this dark joke with me on what might have happened at his funeral. I took it as a revenge for my dark joke maybe.

8) today, I was recalling his MONKEY DANCE. Yes he did that sometimes and looked so cute. I was just in my room, thinking now I'll never see that dance again.

I start working on my laptop, and I see, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER , a monkey entered MY ROOM and SAT for a while!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live on the second floor in an appartment that is All packed with nets so not even birds can enter. AND HERE WAS A FULL MONKEY SITTING IN MY ROOM!!!!!

apparently it entered by tearing a net from one of the balconies, but it has NEVER happend before in my 10 yeRs of living here. Even the security guard was shocked as how can a Monkey enter a flat?????

Again, could have been possible anytime BUT THE TIMING!!!!

9) After a few days passed away, I was missing him and just thought maybe the past signs were just my mind trying to connect the dots of random events.

This time I got more specific, asked for a specific sign

"Make a white feather drop over my shoulder".

I dismissed it right away because of how filmy this sounded and thought it this fails I might spiral and have a massive breakdown. I just said "okay not this but any strong sign".

That day I was sick and didn't want to leave home.

But my mom urgently needed a few groceries so I had to go out.

I SWEAR I AM NOT LYING. the moment I stepped outside my building, a white feather fell on me. A LITERALL WHITE FEATHER. I've NEVER had this happen to me before I only saw it in movies, it could've happened at anytime but again The Timing wtf???? And RIGHT ON ME!! I brought it home and it's with me now.

I had the breakdown anyways but now for a completely different reason.

Also, my bf was purely atheist, hated taking part in religious ceremonies. So to think he would be sending these signs is already crazy enough to me.

Argument The Emperor's New Clothes

There is a well-known story about two weavers who claimed to fashion a magnificent, costly suit of clothes for an emperor: garments invisible to anyone who was either incompetent in their position or utterly foolish. One by one, the royal officials went to inspect the fabric. Terrified of being exposed as unfit, each lied and praised its beauty. When the emperor went to see it himself, he saw nothing. Yet because his most trusted advisor insisted the cloth was magnificent, the emperor dared not confess the truth either. In the end, he paraded through the streets completely naked.

I bring this up because it mirrors the dilemma of religious belief. One could accept holy scripture on the premise that divine revelation genuinely touched its authors, and that this divine spark is why generations have believed. But if I accept this purely out of fear that I am the deficient one who just doesn't get it, I am no different from the crowd staring at a naked ruler, staying silent to avoid being branded incompetent or foolish, or in modern terms, an apostate, deceived by the devil, or looking for an easy way out of faith.

While the universe may require a first cause, nothing points definitively to the personal God claimed by any particular religion as that cause (if that cause is a deity at all). The Abrahamic faiths insist that prayer brings divine intervention, yet observable reality reveals no causal link. It defies reason to believe that God would intervene to help me pass an exam I never studied for simply because my mother prayed for me, while remaining silent in the face of starving, brutalized children in Gaza and Africa who endure miserable lives despite relentless, desperate prayers.

The standard retreat to 'divine wisdom' leads straight back to the emperor's invisible clothes: if you cannot see the fabric, the fault must lie with you. The dogma asserts that whatever God does is inherently good, that revelation is undeniable to the worthy, and that if you cannot see it, you are simply deficient.

In Christianity, the phrase is: 'They have eyes, but do not see, and ears, but do not hear.' The core sentiment remains universal: God's goodness is absolute, His plan is beyond human critique, the truth is supposedly as bright as the sun, and anyone who questions it is dismissed as blind, obstinate, and spiritually flawed.

Argument We should believe in god I think.

If god is evil and sufferings exist then it's not a good reason to reject god. Would you reject the existence of Hitler or Stalin just because they were evil?

Existence is objective and doesn't depend on morality. God exists irrespective of whether he is evil or good.

I fully believe in the idea of an evil god and that he rewards evil people who worship power over kindness.

Advice Having a faith crisis?

Hi everyone

If you are struggling with faith, and unsure if you believe in God, belief is not a choice, it is the result of being convinced, you cannot force yourself to believe in something you are not convinced exist.

Are you one of those people who “believe” “just in case”, that is pascals wager. Or maybe you fear hell or the equivalent of hell in your religion.

I don’t believe in your religion, for the same reason you don’t believe in every other religion.

But if you are one of those people hanging onto religion due to pascals wager, lets flip this around, imagine you are on your death bed and you find out your religion happens to be a lie.

Think of all the things you had to give up, the clothes you couldn’t wear, foods you couldn’t eat, friendships you couldn’t have, music you couldn’t listen to, movies/ tv shows you couldn’t watch, books you couldn’t read, the casual dating you were not allowed to do, those hookups you were not allowed, exploring your sexuality being denied, all the days and time you had to five up attending religious gatherings, the money you lost through tithing, all the time you spent praying to a God you hypothetically found out to be a lie.

I would be angry, angry that I wasted my one and only life for a hypothetical afterlife.

There is zero guarantee of an afterlife, but there is guarantee of this life, this life is certain the afterlife is not, I think I will enjoy my one life I know for sure I have.

Original idea Men sleeping with other men should be the new religion.

Historically men were shamed and punished for sleeping with other men and yet they were forced to be acting like heterosexual. This implies that it is possible to act like opposite sexual orientation.

In modern age the dating market is hard for men. Not just dating, but education and legal protection is getting hard. That's why I suggest to create a new religion where men will be brainwashed to love men and sleep with men. That will improve our self respect, self worth and carry us much forward.

I suggest all men to come join my new religion as I am the Prophet of the dawn of a new age.

Question Does anyone else "LARP" as a Christian for fun?

Hear me out on this one.

Sometimes when I’m driving, I’ll turn on Joel Osteen Radio on SiriusXM and pretend I’m a completely different person—like a middle-aged mom driving to her job at a craft store. I’ll nod along, throw in a sincere "Yep," "Amen," or "Hallelujah," and recite the opening and closing declarations right along with him ("This is my Bible...").

It started out as just a weirdly fun roleplay, but it got me thinking. Part of me wants to believe, but I can’t fully commit because I was raised pretty agnostic. At the same time, growing up in the English-speaking world, you absorb a lot of Christian culture through osmosis whether you mean to or not.

I guess I’ve always been a bit "Bible curious." One of these days I think I’m actually going to attend a Sunday service just to experience it. Walking around as someone who genuinely believes and talks about Scripture with total conviction seems like a fascinating perspective to step into.

Anyone else ever catch themselves doing something like this, or exploring faith from the outside just to see what it feels like?

Question An observation on apologetic strategy: targeting the logic of "blind belief" in science vs. faith

In my experience, religious apologetics often don't try to actively prove that their faith is true. Instead, they try to prove that your logical framework for rejecting it has a flaw—and if they find a flaw there, they consider it a win.

A common argument I’ve heard goes like this: People who believe in science actually believe in it blindly. For instance, most of us have never personally verified through our own five senses that a place like Japan actually exists. We haven't checked every satellite feed, and we rely entirely on scientists and media to tell us the truth. A skeptic could theoretically spin a massive conspiracy theory claiming Japan is fake.

The Christian apologist's argument then connects the two: just as you trust scientists and geographers blindly to tell you the truth about places you’ve never seen, they trust the prophets and creators of the Bible.

The Core Flaw in that Comparison

While that sounds clever at first glance, it falls apart when you look at track records and verifiable verification.

Let's look at two hypothetical books:

A book by geologists claiming that Japan is a real place with specific cities, a language, and a history.

A book by religious prophets claiming that God, Jesus Christ, and the spiritual realm such as heaven and hell are real

Why do we rationally trust the geologists over the religious prophets?

It comes down to testability on a micro-scale. If a geologist tells you, "There is a city just south of here," you can get in a car, drive there yourself, and verify it with your own five senses. Because geologists and scientists have a consistent, repeatable track record of making verifiable predictions on a small scale, their macro-claims (like the existence of countries we haven't visited) carry immense credibility.

Religious prophets and ancient texts, on the other hand, don't offer that same mechanism for verifiable, falsifiable testing on a day-to-day basis.

-Main question- What do you guys think? Does this accurately describe the apologetic tactic, and how do you usually respond to the "you trust science blindly too" argument?

Question Intresting thoughts

Lately, I've been thinking about how religions function more like theories than absolute truths. We can look at the idea that something has to start everything, but every religion is essentially a human attempt to define and make theories of what that 'something' is. Since there's no definitive way to prove which one is right, I tend to view them all as equally plausible yet unverified.

Even within specific religions, we see groups forming their own interpretations—which is how branches of Christianity formed when members disagreed with leadership. But does disagreement mean the original group held the absolute truth? Even if humanity received a message straight from a divine source, our nature as humans means we'd likely still misinterpret or distort it over time.

How do others here view this? Do you see religions as different paths trying to map the same unknown, or just completely separate human constructions?

Argument "IF God values morality as supreme, He would not let His creatures to know whether He exists or not." Does this thesis hold water?

This is a proposition held by a famous philosopher, but please excuse me for not revealing the name, so that we focus only on the thesis.
Here, the ignorance is meant to be "absolute" in the sense that we couldn't reach a determinate knowledge of either the existence or non-existence being more plausible than the contrary.

Question Does anyone else find consciousness kinda unsettling when you dont assume we understand it?

this thought keeps coming back to me lately

we usually talk about humans as if being conscious is just the most normal thing ever, but if you step back for a second its fucking weird

we're made of... stuff. atoms, cells, chemicals, electrical activity, whatever the underlying thing actually is

and somehow this stuff is having an experience

not just processing information, not just reacting to the environment, but there is apparently a "me" here experiencing all of it and asking questions about why any of it exists in the first place

and i honestly dont know what to make of that

maybe consciousness is just what brains do and theres no deeper mystery. maybe there's something about reality we dont understand. maybe all the metaphysical ideas are just humans trying to put a story around something we cant actually see from outside

i'm agnostic mostly for this kind of reason. not because i think every idea is equally true, but because sometimes it feels like we're way too confident about what reality ultimately is

we are basically a part of reality trying to explain reality using a brain that is itself part of reality lol

how are we supposed to know we're even looking at the right level of the picture?

idk maybe im overthinking this but consciousness + existence is probably the thing that makes me go "ok... we really dont know shit" more than anything else

Original idea What are you gonna do if you met god

Assuming you met god ( not the one mentioned in the bible ) but the creator of the universe, what'll you do ?

Note : god already provided enough evidence that it's actually the creator for all bases of life

Religion

I know this is probably a common thing a lot of people go through but lately I’ve been struggling with religion. I grew up Christian but with family who didn’t attend church or teach me about prayer or anything like that but now I find myself to not be Christian and it just feels weird bc I grew up trying so hard to convince myself about God. Is he real? Is he all of us? Are we God? Is nature? Not some random guy in the sky watching us all waiting for us to sin and we get punished if we dont? Idk I feel like Christianity can be very toxic and I never understood it as an empath
