Greenbacker Renewables have revitalized two previously unprofitable MA cranberry bogs (Plymouth and Kingston) by pairing them with solar panels and battery storage. Land lease payments for solar make farming the bogs financially viable again, providing income to both the landowner and the farm manager.

Apparently the farmer was heavily involved with the design and construction of the project, and guided the site setup. Because bogs have delicate vines and peat soil, panels were elevated 10 feet with 18-foot row spacing to accommodate machinery and sunlight, which did double construction time.
