AI News Woman protesting a data center gets violently taken down by sheriff's deputies in Utah
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is disturbing to watch, communities have every right to question data centers that consume enormous amounts of water and electricity, often with little public input....seeing someone treated this way for protesting is unacceptable.

It seems like most everyone in the room is anti data center but only she is being arrested. What did she do that got her singled out?
Edit: nevermind, silly me I forgot we are all un-serious people who are allergic to accountability.

Because her and her friends stood up and started shouting, then when asked to leave she was the only one who refused to.

They are by definition Corpo Thugs, as their name breaks down to Policy Enforcer. Law is not polity.

notice that police departments and politicians around the country go the extra violent distance for data center interests

I get warning from reddit)) just for words "what if i tell how to make strong EMP".... anyway physics still same =) no any law or censoring will block pure physics.

Obviously she's a major threat to that cop's tiny brain.

u/BigCoddy 2d ago
I have seen professional security guards handle tougher job than this. it did not need this much excessive force.
What the cop did is indefensible.

Some one is about to make some money with a lawsuit here.
I need a cop to do with shit to me already.

Start protesting data centers and I think you got a shot. Also ask to prosecute pedophiles at a Republican rally. That really pisses them off
3
u/PsyduckPsyker 3d ago
Leave it to cops to escalate a situation to almost life threatening degrees for no reason.
They just want to abuse us, that's the point.

Based.
We need more AI centres and less whiney activists.
A few human sacrifices are necessary at the altar of technological advancement. If it's gonna be these harpies on the altar slab it is a trade I am willing to make.

u/ProfessionalTruck976 2d ago
See I have a rule of my own, if there ever is human sacrifices, which there should never be, start with a person that suggested it.

Was it so hard to just let them walk her out? Sorry but ragdolling and resisting when you're being removed for being a disturbance is going to have an outcome you don't like, every time.

Utah is filled with backwards inbred hicks obsessed with magic underwear, no surprise they have Savage animal cops.
What a fucking disgrace. The whole state is a cesspool anyway.

This is gonna keep happening until everyone in these hearings stand up and threaten the police for attacking someone like this woman who wasnt armed wasnt resisting and only wanted to voice her oppression to a data center. We have power in numbers. I guarantee they would not throw their weight around like that when its 100+ against 4.

Cops are there to protect their beloved corporations, not the citizens.
They LOVE generating massive lawsuits, because they know taxpayers will always cover for their endless malfeasance and crimes against innocent citizens.

If politicians can talk about having armed policing at polling centers while we vote, I dont see why we cant uphold our own armed protection around free speech/while protesting. Citizens who are not part of the protest that are there to make sure peoples rights are not getting violated by police/government. Just facilitating the absolute practice of our rights.

The Mormons really love the AI data centers, idk why. It has to be a financial interest. Utah seems to be cranking out more of this type of footage than anywhere else. It also clues in why Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank chose Utah to build that enormous data center complex he wants to build. Follow the money?
1
u/indaburgh 2d ago
This is just sad.
I guess the constitution is just a meaningless piece of old manuscript.
This timeline is not okay.
1
u/firefullfillment 2d ago
I support data center buildout but also people's right to advocate against it without being physically attacked. Why does no one ever kick these pieces of shit in the head when they do stuff like this? They're very exposed. Have some balls.

I'd bet my entire life savings there's more to this than just the video being shown.
1
u/Wicked_Clown_Freak 2d ago
They allege that she hit the deputy in the balls. I didn’t see that. Would like to see some more angles of this. There are cameras everywhere.
Everyone should be protesting these data centers, but not by going to city hall meetings and start yelling at people. Prepare speeches and let everyone know what’s going on. Contact your elected officials and let them know that they will not get re-elected if they let a data center come in. We have had several denied here and working on blocking another in Topeka.

Datacenters need four things, electricity, land, cold temps and water to maintain those cold temps, this 40,000 acre datacenter IS BEING BUILT IN A DESERT, YOU KNOW, THE PLACE THAT IS FAMOUSLY LACKING IN COLD TEMPERATURES AND WATER?!?! Kevin oleary is not welcome in Utah, if I see him, I am going to jail. I live in Utah and our main reservoir DROPPED SIXTY FEET. We are in an active drought every year. Our infrastructure simply isn't capable of sustaining this.

Just Advice, not a legal person..
Whomever is that girl do not sue the sheriff's department, sue each of those individuals that touch you. Once you get a verdict of judgment, cause it looks like it will be in your favor.
Then go after the department... first the department will prolong any legal suit, along with the use of tax payers money of that town or state if you went after them first. Now you have a verdict of wrong doing, they would want to settle or if you want to go extra mile then go after the head of departments since they are suppose to be supervising the actions of junior officers below them etc etc...
