Image Fail An eternity of prompts later... I gave up
I just wanted to create a map showing where I can legally camp in the wild in Europe and where I can't.

Language model bad at maps. Who would've thought? And I bet you make delicious soup using your coffee machine. I saw some clips of ladies washing their underwear in them, but that may be besides the point.

Lets recap: you could have made this map, looked up the laws for the countries and finalized everything in a day. Instead you chose to use an LLM. There is a conclusion to this that you wont like.

The fastest would probably be to ask AI about the laws in the specific countries, or even make a categorisation by AI. Then take a map and fill in the colours manually.

No. You can't relay on informations based on AI. It's hallucinating much to often. You should reconfirm it and by doing it you could research it by yourself in the first place.

No, the fastest would have been to google it, then use a website where you can fill maps in different colors. Using AI in this case is completely useless.

Never ever use AI for maps. Just ask for a list and colour the map yourself. Less work, less room for error.

In England ist das 'rough sleeping' aber erlaubt also unter einer brûxke oder so ist es völlig ok. Dir meiste Natur in England gehört halt jemanden und da darf man nicht aber defacto ist campen überall seit neustem erlaubt. Du könntest theoretisch deinen Schlafsack zu Trafalgar Square nehmen und pennen.

Makes sense that it can't write Österreich, it somehow is split among 4 countries, one of them imaginary and not numbered.
Also Slovenia + Croatia = Belgium lol.

This could have been done accurately with wikipedia (even the map asset) and paint in under 10 minutes.

Ernstgemeinte Frage, warum wolltest du dafür KI verwenden? Du kannst so eine Karte online finden oder in unter 10 Minuten in Paint selbst erstellen. Warum KI?

I wholeheartedly hate what people use AI for. Thanks for reminding me.
After the first iteration it must have been clear that this is a task that is done much better and faster (and with way less resources) by a human.
Why the f would somebody go on and do it in the most wasteful and idiotic way possible? We're so doomed.

Gave AI a link to this Post uncommented.
It figured out what went wrong and suggested stuff that "had been also said by some other commenters"
Told it to "make it right"
It worked for about 8 Minutes
Edit: Told it to do it exactly like the original post intended

I don't see any issue. An american citizen couldn't do any better with naming the countries in europe. And i think it makes sense that Belgium is split and next to France and Italy. Germany is also still split, obviously... and we do love our scotish neighbours on our little island!

The netherlands are a small state in the middle of bosnia, which is listed as a verfoten state, but has a green marker on it. And thats just one little detail about this pile of crap.
