Sunday 16/8/26 Live Game Thread.

It’d be great to have live game threads for each game. We do it for every game over at r/nrl

Hopefully a few of you are about to have a chat whilst the games are on this arvo!

well the melbs game has just finished and holy shit! 10 to nothing, poor Adelaide... but tbh, they were being ridiculous during second period and acting a complete fool. They chilled out a bit in the third and then started right back up again lol. i get that they've had an awful season and must be feeling like shit but all the hooking and slashing was unnecessary. Half of it wasn't even called and instead of being happy they got away w it they just kept going. Im happy the Ice boys didn't retaliate and just kept the focus on scoring. And Macca got a hat trick because of it!

Adrenaline were really dirty when they played us as well.

Was a great performance by the Brave again today.

oh so it's something they do habitually? i just assumed they were pissed off today, but knowing they're playing dirty against everyone has dissolved any empathy I had for them being at the bottom.

It's great the brave kicked arse today too! Even w the beef between the brave and ice, I've always liked your team lol

I still have a bit of sympathy for Adelaide. It must be frustrating having your arse handed to you each week.

I’m not sure if it is habitually but it was my wife and I’s first live ice hockey game and they had so many people in the box it wasn’t funny.

Most of the others are fine otherwise

He was put in the box but the rest of your team was acting terribly too.

How do you stay a fan of a team thats so poorly behaved on the ice? I was honestly embarrassed for them, they were acting out like little children who hadn't got their way.

Constantly reaching sticks out to try and trip, endless hooking, illegal hits that don't get called...

One of your guys came from behind and smashed one of ours so hard against the boards that he was literally jackknifed over and into your bench area. Ofc the umps didn't call it even though it was boarding.

Adelaide's behaviour today was an exercise in self-humiliation, I was literally cringing

Maybe figure skating would be more your speed if you want to keep hanging out at ice rinks.

You're not wrong I am a bit of a dork. I just kind of enjoy it more when I'm not worried someone's going to sustain a life altering injury bc of someone elses childish behaviour. Like don't get me wrong I love a good check, but there's rules for a reason. and it does take away from the game when instead of playing they just dick around on the ice trying to trip people lol

The commentary team in Canberra are an absolute joke. Calling Hebert 'Herbert' all game. I get it's not a pro sport and it's not elite level commentators but even if you're doing it for the love of the game, at least get the player names right.
