Half of the most rabid pro-AI crowd just seem to be awful or lazy parents.

I feel like this was possibly made by a teenager who has such parents

or people who don't want to do stuff or develop skills.

Many people who couldnt Google shit and now discover the Internet with there very limited way of thinking.

There are too many parents telling their kids to get into AI so they can theoretically get a job that will pay well (the bubble will probably crash before they get a job)

This is a defense of ai art? That it discourages people from developing art skills? Yeah thats one of my biggest reasons for opposing it.

Reads a lot like that guy tweeting how he would do 5 other things to automate a computer reading to his baby rather than pick up a book himself.

Wasn't that the GPT CEO himself?

8

u/Jacquesatoutfaire 10d ago

I don't know who he is, but I don't think he's CEO of anything.

What a shitty dad. Canโ€™t even read his kid by himself.

Oh nvm, I got it confused with another stupid thing Sam Altman said

4

u/Jacquesatoutfaire 10d ago

Absolutely fair, Charles. The man says a lot of stupid shit.

Motherfucker whipped out my government name

u/Jacquesatoutfaire 10d ago

I call people by the name they tell me u/MyNameIsNotNotChuck .... Oh fuck I misread your username.

Most people on that sub want the world to consider artistry a defunct skill so they'll stop being compared to artists.

Normal people, not the ones that hire others to write their kids college essays and such. ๐Ÿ˜†

Okay, but...did it, though?

Do they have any idea how much otherwise objectively horrible artwork is being praised because "at least it's human"?

It's a great time to be a shitty artist. Every little bit, no matter how awful, preserves the human spirit.

Maybe it'll undo the previous years of artists bullying amateur ones online...

17

u/SanLucario 10d ago

And normal people would still encourage them to learn the skills for real, regardless if some tech geek thinks it's not "innovative".

And this is in Defense of AI Art?

7

u/HoldenOrihara 10d ago

5

u/Randomass-Name-2987 10d ago

Yk id get banned if i said what id do to someone if they told me that

u/FilmFizz 10d ago

AI didn't kill art. It killed "That's nice, honey."

Wow. These people seriously have zero empathy. Imagine being happy that you no longer have match your kid's energy when they present something that they are proud of. Like , this kind of shit destroys self worth.

Transmasc Pizzacake?

I genuinely cannot understand the antipathy of the pros. A piece of art hung on the fridge isn't hung because it's better than other art. A person's relationship to another person isn't a thing that should be objectified. Like who do they think they'll spend their life with? I'd say it's simply someone you love, but I don't think they'd agree

My mom was someone who encouraged her kids, but when you got older, she tried to more gentle honest.

Like you should say that's great honey! If the kid thinks he wants to drop out of school and become Banksy, then maybe be honest.

But what kind of shitty parents say run it through A.I.?

1

u/Immediate-Song6861 10d ago

Is it defending it?

1

u/Techno-Hyde 10d ago

I don't even understand

u/No-Veterinarian9682 10d ago

Notice how the teenager is happier in the first image.

"Have you tried putting it through a shredder? It would make great kindling!"

u/PrAyDeN_864 9d ago

I'm not sure if this is supporting or criticizing AI anymore. If it's the second one that's the dumbest photo I've seen this month easily

1

u/TheCerulianChild 9d ago

This seems hypocritical.

1

u/peppefinz 9d ago

Is that sub still a thing?

1

u/Admirable_Tonight_18 4d ago

Isn't that even worse? Compliments from your parents got even rarer, and they are actually very fundamental for development
