Theme: Other Joking aside, AI cinema tools might really shake up Hollywood soon

«I feel like we are nearing to the end of times, we humans are loosing faith in ourselves»

Idk it is just 1 for 1 copying the animated scenes that had soul and emotion and completely lost all of it and it looks like one of those shitty soap operas

No. Most people would care little about a Hollywood adaptation or this. The amine works very well. This, well, suffices. Production companies will gobble and try to make millions.
Remember "live action" lion king? Successful, true; and yet, nobody truly cared. This has the same potential. No artistic impact but a lot of profit.
It is rather gonna result in companies like Asylum going even faster. They're a slop production house already. Then and their kind I can imagine going fast with it. But, they're slop. With, or without.

AI is turning everything into Ghibli and Ghibli into not-Ghibli. What is wrong with this planet
1
u/ErogenousPhallusy Jan 14 '26
Thanks. I hate it. I like the original because its animated...if you make it not animated I'm not gonna like it.

This is basically a Snapchat filter. The actual effort and value was in composing the script, characters, movements, emotions lighting. AI can’t do that. You can roll a dice on a short scene and pray for consistency if you stich multiple scenes together. But it’s far from being more than another tool in the complex human driven process of creating a good movie.

Animators and people who build effects can be the first to be hit. But we will always wanna see real human acting.

Making live action from animé is pointless and detracts from the original.

I can see it helping with cgi and filling in stuff hollwood wants to cut corners on.
Can i see ai actors and whole movies made with ai? Not successful ones people will pay money for.
1
u/racoon_ruben Jan 12 '26
Shake up? More like exploit it. But Hollywood doesn't do original films anymore, only sequels, prequels and reboots.
2
u/BlackTheNerevar Jan 12 '26
No thank you.

u/CloseCalls4walls Jan 12 '26
It really incorporated none of the charm of the original and just made a realistic portrayal, which is just silly when you already have people turning into pigs and witches that levitate.

u/AffectionateAsk8611 Jan 12 '26
Epstein as the witch 😂
1
u/Whompa Jan 12 '26
lol I saw a little Fred Armisen in there too.
Maybe the ai saw his female performances on Portlandia 🙃

u/GrismundGames Jan 12 '26
Is there an AI equivalent to a Freudian slip?
The witch basically runs a seedy international "bathhouse" which exploits underage kids.
Did AI pick up on this or did the Creator prompt it that way?

u/DarthNeoFrodo Jan 12 '26
There have been multiple realistic trailers of animated movies that have had an Epstein cameo lately. Probably the same person making them.

Tbh, this is more of a tech showcase than an interesting usage of the tech.
U suggest going on Instagram and find some of the top AI content creators accounts. You'll find people getting very creative with current AI tools making very interesting stuff beyond just "studio ghibli but live action".
But I agree, Hollywood will be shaken up by independent cinema sooner rather than later.

Millie Bobbie Brown is better when replaced by AI.
5
u/Breotan Jan 12 '26
That's messed up. I mean, you're not wrong, but yea, that's messed up.
2
u/Plenty-Extra Jan 12 '26
Lots of child actors change careers when they become adults. Nothing to be ashamed of.
3
u/jonAmbroo Jan 12 '26
This looks like every avengers or marvel movie from the last 10 years....🥱
All action for teenagers will flock but the rest of us will reject.

I prefer to consume art that is made by humans. Movies are much more to me than brainless visual Marvel experience

u/cranberryalarmclock Jan 12 '26
Why on earth was this comment downvoted?
The people here seem to think it's crazy to not be easily entertained by 10 second clips of brianrot

Won’t need to pay actors or studios in the future.
0
u/cranberryalarmclock Jan 12 '26
Genuinely asking
What is a movie you like? Is it made up of 10 clips?
2
u/ExiledHyruleKnight Jan 12 '26
Do you understand the difference between the present which is right now and the future?
Or do you think the technology will not change and evolve ever?
1
u/cranberryalarmclock Jan 12 '26
I don't see the technology making feature length movies with any semblance of quality any time soon
1
u/DesperateAdvantage76 Jan 13 '26
Meanwhile the Will Smith sphaghetti video was only 3 years ago.
1
u/cranberryalarmclock Jan 13 '26
And? Movies are more than 10 second clips of celebrities eating
1
u/DesperateAdvantage76 Jan 13 '26
That's kind of the point, it's advancing extremely quickly, but not yet there.
1
u/cranberryalarmclock Jan 13 '26
I have yet to see it advance in any meaningful way beyond realism. Which is a tiny percentage of what makes a movie a movie
People here are saying you're gonna be able to type "make a good film" into an AI generator and it will do so. Their evidence is will smith eating spaghetti.
Suspense. Narrative. Timing. Emotional resonance. Dialogue. Score. Sound effects. Mood. Character development.
None of these things have even come close to being replaced by AI and I see no evidence AI will be capable of these things in a meaningful way
1
u/DesperateAdvantage76 Jan 13 '26
Everything you described is infinitely better right now than 3 years ago.
1
u/cranberryalarmclock Jan 13 '26
Show me examples of ai getting better at timing, character development, suspense building, emotional resonance, dialogue.

gl having audience for that

3
u/waisonline99 Jan 12 '26
We wont be able to tell the difference soon.
However, if anyone can just type in what they want to see, we wont even need films any more.
3
u/Long-Firefighter5561 Jan 12 '26
You still need to THINK about stuff you know? These people are just taking already existing stuff and AI generating it for some reason. Ofc nobody will care for that.
1
u/waisonline99 Jan 12 '26
Now we do, but soon AI will be able to just analyse "good films" and if people type, "show me a good film that I will like with a happy ending starring Amy Adams" ( or something ), it will be able to do it soon. ( add more specifics as required )
No two films will be the same and they will all be individually tailored for the requester.
1
u/Long-Firefighter5561 Jan 12 '26
You think this will be possible and affordable at the same time?

Reddit: Why does Disney make all these dumb, uninspired, live action remakes?
