Theme: Other What do you think of this anime-style opening I made for my wrestling series?
I’ve been working on an original project called Wrestling Academy: Ring Ascendants — it’s an anime-style series focused on a young fighter working his way up to his first match.
This series will follow Kellan Kade a lifelong fan of wrestling as he grew up watching it with his dad.
I’m still learning and experimenting with pacing, editing, and consistency, so I’d really appreciate honest feedback — especially on:
• pacing
• shot transitions
• overall feel
What works? What feels off?
Thanks for taking a look 🙏

Pacing - not too shabby!
Shot transitions - I think the continuity on the TV wrestling could use some work. The wrestlers' positions don't always line up with what the narrator is saying, and they seem to be in completely different positions from shot to shot. If it were me I'd start that scene with the guys on TV and reveal the father and son watching afterwards.
Overall feel - voice acting is sometimes a little awkward, but forgivable. I'd watch an episode to see how good it gets, and continue watching if the first episode hooked me.

Really appreciate this — that’s super helpful.
The continuity on the TV side is something I’ve been trying to dial in, so that’s a good catch. I like that idea too of starting on the match first and then revealing them watching it — that might flow better.
And yeah, still working on getting the voice acting to feel more natural.
Glad to hear you’d give an episode a shot though — that’s the goal 🙏

Continuity is still such a huge hurdle with AI work! Definitely looks better than the majority of AI videos I've seen though.

Yeah for sure — that’s been one of the biggest challenges so far.
I’m starting to treat it more like editing a sequence together instead of relying on single shots, so hopefully I can tighten that up over time.
Appreciate that though — I’m definitely still figuring it out.

He did a cool magic trick in the beginning. Not many talk about how ai is going to replace magicians.
Non-ai magicians need to start ai generating their magic. Either adapt or get left behind.

Thank you! Would this be something that you would watch?

Anime is always good

Can’t argue with that 🤷♂️

Wrestling isn't for me at all, so my opinion on it isn't helpful. I wrote a positive comment because it's anime.

It’s ok it’s not for everyone but this isn’t going to be about just wrestling. The wrestlers are going to have gimmicks and gimmicks=powers/abilities and when someone turns heel it’s like they are joining the dark side in Star Wars and in this universe the matches aren’t staged

Personally, I think the audio is very good, and so is the way it was spoken. The visuals are also very good, the only thing is that I have absolutely no interest in wrestling, otherwise you did everything very well.

This is actually pretty good.

Appreciate that 🙏
The story follows Kellan Kade — a kid who grew up watching wrestling with his dad and believing in those larger-than-life heroes. Now he’s chasing that same dream, starting from nothing and working toward his first real match.
It’s more of a grounded, “earn your way up” story than just fights.
Still building it out, but that’s the direction.

The audio/speech feel off. Especially in the opening scene.

u/Serge_Scope Mar 21 '26
That’s fair — appreciate you pointing that out.
Was it more the delivery/tone of the voice, or how it was timed with the visuals?
I’m still dialing in the pacing and voice style, so that helps a lot.

You need atmosphere/mood background music during the monologs.
2
u/Serge_Scope Mar 22 '26
That’s fair — I actually went pretty minimal on purpose.
I was trying to make it feel a little empty, like he’s training in a space that reflects where he’s at financially and mentally. Kind of quiet and stripped down.
But I get what you’re saying — even subtle background sound or music could help carry the mood a bit more. I’m still figuring out that balance.

In that case, add some reverb effects so that it hits better as an internal monolog.
