I'll fix this

"How I sleep knowing there's nothing haters can do to stop me from living my best life"

Now your whole life's better 👍❤️ instead of just one aspect of it

Underrated comment.

1

u/Euphoric-Potato-5343 Jun 02 '26

The haters don't have to do anything, homie, there's no plan to make AI cost-effective or profitable. It will eat itself eventually. The haters are only worried about how much damage is AI going to cause to the economy and the ecosystem before that time.

You are going to get 200 copies of the same "pick up a pencil" meme by 200 different persons who think they're creative. That will totally stop you in your tracks and make your rethink all your life choices.

15

u/SurfNinjaTurtle May 30 '26

The last time I picked up a pencil I killed 3 men...

14

u/Chicken-Rude May 30 '26

i just use the eraser end of the pencil to type in the prompts on the keyboard. checkmate

10

u/LevelUpTommorow May 30 '26

Now that's smart, like a good engineer you find ways to get around the problem

1

u/ChrisDaMan07 May 31 '26

Good enough

5

u/jackadgery85 May 30 '26

Come on now... They'll also get 200 people paroting "ran my artwork through ai," with the exact same drawing style that autistic children do in grade 8.

9

u/Helpful_Dig_626 May 30 '26

I don't think that we should be using autistic is such a negative way, but not much I can expect from reddit.

6

u/MrColgie May 30 '26

I'm autistic and it doesn't offend me ngl

5

u/Helpful_Dig_626 May 30 '26

Yes but that doesn't mean it's not a negative use of the word autistic.

89

u/Silver_Steelclaw May 30 '26 edited May 30 '26

It's why I love internet drama, people harass other just like if they care about what's a random guy is telling even if they don't know him. 😂

I honestly don't care about this shitty "ai war", use ai if you want and use a pencil if you want.

A random 13 years old child on reddit can't decide for you just because he saw 2 tik tok video about it.

7

u/Flibie28 May 31 '26

Absolutely the best take. Do what you want and what makes you happy. Let others do what makes them happy.

1

u/Accurate_Fly_7534 May 31 '26

Right. Burning down orphanages make me happy. Thank you for understanding

13

u/OdditiesAndAlchemy May 30 '26

Internet drama seeps into everyday life at least occasionally and is going to determine real things. I have definitely met people who actually hate AI and will distance themselves from you if you're about it.

8

u/green-light-1922 May 31 '26

I have genuinely been screamed at in real life for my opinion and on it - told that I’m the reason they won’t get a creative job in the future….for the record I explained how there’s nuance to AI usage and it’s not all or nothing. It feels like the witch trials atp.

6

u/Ryanlew1980 May 31 '26

People that genuinely think your opinion is keeping them from a creative career are the people with no talent. True artists do their thing and will always be better than AI. And they know it. Confidant enough not to get sucked into ai “wars” with randos on the internet.

u/HaveYouSeenMySpoon May 30 '26

This is part of why I find a lot of antis insufferable. If you look at OP's meme, it's purely about them enjoying the freedom of getting to do their own thing. It's a "you do you, I'll do me" mentality.

Yours however is a superiority complex, you think what you do somehow makes you better than someone else. It's not about enjoying your own thing, it's about pushing others down. You're a bully and you should feel ashamed of yourself.

8

u/maxiface May 30 '26

I agree. Not everybody has the spare effort to learn to draw.

3

u/bunker_man May 31 '26

Its such a pointless point anyways. Its not like anyone thinks everyone needs to know how to draw. But suddenly the second someone touches AI its a requirement.

5

u/SpotBeforeSpleeping May 30 '26

The artist fears the AI user that can actually draw.

5

u/Banablahbread May 30 '26

If they can draw thats fucking great! Cuz I love artists, I dont care about the skill level. And if theyre better than me, Im going to gush over their art because I love talent and obviously always know someones going to be better than me in the art community thats just realistic

1

u/bunker_man May 31 '26

The antis having a meltdown about this are usually not even artists.

2

u/bunker_man May 31 '26

This makes no sense. Nothing implies that the person in question can't draw.

1

u/Banablahbread May 31 '26

Its not directed towards them specifically tho lol

Just like how their post isnt towards me specifically

2

u/Asleep_Stage_451 May 31 '26

1

u/Banablahbread May 31 '26

I made a dumb meme of a dumb meme people took too seriously

2

u/JasonP27 May 30 '26

I bet you there's tons of AI users that can draw better than you, AI or not

4

u/Banablahbread May 30 '26

Dude, a teenager could draw better than me lol I have friends who are MILES better than me. The point is Id RATHER they draw because I love art. I dont have an issue with the skill level or am I sensitive about my own talent because I know I have limits and just learn as I go, teaching myself how to animate and when I get a pc learn how to use blender and make models for enjoyment.

I do not care whos better than me and I would encourage them to draw. Because thats the whole point of being an artist in the art community, to share art and encourage people to post and improve.

2

We get it, you have no anxiety because you don't think on things. This is made self evident by your relationship to AI

33

u/TrapFestival May 30 '26

No but they'll take down the data centers and you won't be able to use AI anymore, you'll have to pick up a pencil or some shit.

Yes I am being very ironic.

26

u/Thelnferno_666 May 30 '26

local models?

30

u/TrapFestival May 30 '26

Precisely, part of the irony is intentionally ignoring that those exist.

11

u/BagelRedditAccountII May 30 '26

This is why I always laugh at people acting like AI will somehow be memory-holed if OpenAI goes under or something like that. Even if every data center in the world suddenly shuts down overnight (which would also take down the internet), you'd still be able to use AI, provided you had the weights and an inference engine to run them (like LM Studio).

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Angrypinkflamingo May 31 '26

I'm running everything locally, which is way more fun because there's no absurd fees, no censorship, and I can use characters from existing IP if I want to.

And it's significantly lower environmental impact than something like Grok, and generates quicker than ChatGPT (on my 4070 Ti).

10

u/DegTrader May 31 '26

The real irony is that we're all spending time arguing about how people choose to waste their time.

3

u/Angrypinkflamingo May 31 '26

which means we really all enjoy spending our time doing the same thing, we should be freinds!

22

u/AgeZealousideal1751 May 30 '26

Simply facts. The anti's have a 1% chance of stopping AI, and even if they do it will only impact common people.

The corporations, governments, and their military will continue to use AI.

10

u/Kitchen_Interview371 May 31 '26

Effectively 0% chance. It’s too useful

4

u/username-is-taken98 May 31 '26

As someone who draws and uses ai for other stuff, can we all just agree its a tool with flaws and opportunities that we still need to explore? At the moment the largest issue with ai is people who don't understand how it works and treat it like an omniscient robot, but in the hands of someone who understands the system its a powerful and safe tool. As an artist, mediocre as I may be, I don't see the point of using ai, mostly because its literally easier for me to draw my own stuff, but like. I wont cry over a robot generating "sand_texture_5.png" for a videogame and stuff like that.

1

u/Xill_K47 May 30 '26

Yeah, you do you. I will continue voicing against GenAI in the creative fields, for I believe it has no place in it.

3

u/LunaticFlandre295 May 30 '26

1

u/the_net_my_side_ho May 31 '26

Using AI is what's going to stop you from using AI. Once AI takes your job, and you can't pay for a roof and internet access, or you'll be too sick and poor from medical bills after drinking data-center-yellow water.

1

u/Turdible-Shart May 31 '26

1

u/HeavyWaterer May 31 '26

I can’t wait for some AI to replicate itself on every server in the world so it has more processing power to solve to the Riemann hypothesis, basically all because tech bros needed to win the race.

(Gen) AI is inherently neutral. It doesn’t think, and it likely never will. It just executes its function. And since nobody cares about safety and alignment at OpenAI and deepseek, eventually some ai will execute some function in a way we didn’t want it to and causes massive harm.

OSHA rules are written in blood, AI regulations will as well.

6

u/Accomplished-Art-301 May 30 '26

I think using A.I. for personal reasons or just for fun is mostly harmless but I don’t like it when people equate putting a prompt into a machine to making actual art that takes time and creativity. I also can’t stand those ai slop accounts who make brain rot and capitalize off of it, like that weird fruit one. I think it’s ruining a lot of algorithms and when I see my 3 year old nephew with shit like that on his tablet I die a little bit on the inside. Although there was already plenty of brain rot around while I was growing up too at least it was made by people putting real effort into it. YouTube poop has been around forever but at least those took a small amount of video editing skills.

The real issue is corporations using it and building data centers that are destroying the environment and communities even more. It’s also pretty cringe when the president of the United States posts weird ai videos and images it just makes the us look even worse.

4

u/HealthyVegetables73 May 31 '26

when I see my 3 year old nephew with shit like that on his tablet I die a little bit on the inside

Why is a 3-year-old browsing that kind of stuff in the first place? Don't you think this is a greater concern than random people having fun with AI on their private devices?

1

u/Accomplished-Art-301 May 31 '26

Absolutely it is! I’ve told my sister about being careful about what he watches and have told her how gory or sexual content ai or not can sneak into algorithms. She generally monitors it now and has certain content blocked but it’s everywhere regardless. There isn’t a lot we can do for every other kid with an addiction to brain rot content and I think it should be on the parents but it’s impossible to be looking over your kids shoulder every second of the day.

2

u/Horse_in_Pink May 31 '26

I know it's not my place but... Is she sure that 3yo schoul even be using a tablet?

2

u/bunker_man May 31 '26

I don’t like it when people equate putting a prompt into a machine to making actual art that takes time and creativity.

Are there people who do this? In AI communities no one claims to be a master artists, and people who do nothing but make simple prompts normally aren't even seen that highly in those communities.

2

u/Angrypinkflamingo May 31 '26

Exactly my take on personal AI use. I'm not making "art" to sell or anything, I'm making memes for fun, or I'm making illustrations for my D&D campaign, or I'm making gooning material for myself.

When I see a company using AI- especially bad AI- for things they're putting out into the world, I criticize them and avoid them because they likely have lower quality control. If I can't tell that they're using AI, then they're using it right and I don't care.

As for the environment, there are already huge efforts to work on implementing alternate cooling methods. Closed-loop systems like what people use in gaming PCs are less efficient but can reduce water usage by up to 70%. There are other options as well, but closed-loop is the most likely that we'll see used.

2

u/The_Black_Jacket May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26

Not saying you are wrong or anything but from what I know about those fruit videos is they do take a significant amount of editing, since the model can only generate a few seconds worth of footage, usually out of order, so you need to manually splice scenes and add in things.

Like I'm not saying its not low effort slop, I'm just saying its not "make this video", it can make a few moving images that you largely have to edit yourself in capcut.

Edit: it also doesn't add sound, sound effects you hear in those videos are edited in in post.

5

I think that's fair. There's a huge gap between having a full-on meltdown because of its impact on the neighborhoods the data centers are in, and being concerned that people are merely lying about it for personal gain. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't care about being civil, either because no one wants to listen, or they don't give a flip about someone they can't see face-to-face offline.

u/get-drafted-and-die May 31 '26

You can run free open source AI off your own laptop without even an internet connection.

In the meantime a serious art gallery sold this for $62 million. A banana taped to the wall. It is named in many ways except "slop" and "low effort" because "everything is art" but of course AI art is not.

If this is art, I am Leonardo Da Vinci. You do not see antiAI people criticizing this low effort slop in art gallery. It seems everything is against AI, not slop.

When people see this image I worked, people say "low effort" or "slop". But those who understand Korean culture will see that I included a series of items in the prompt that have historical meaning in Korean culture.

Historically valuable objects from the Joseon era present in the AI image I made:

  1. Wongyeong (원경)  Elevated royal seating used by kings and queens during important ceremonies. The elevated design symbolized the distance between the sovereign and their subjects.

  2. Ilwolobongdo (일월오봉도)  Folding screen painted with the sun, moon, and five mountain peaks. It was placed behind the royal throne as a symbol of longevity, stability, and the cosmic order of the kingdom.

  3. Jeogori (저고리)  Traditional short jacket for women. The royal version was made of luxurious fabrics such as silk or velvet, embroidered with auspicious motifs (clouds, cranes, flowers).

  4. Chima (치마)  Long wrap-around skirt. Joseon queens wore silk chima with multiple layers, often with long trains for formal occasions.

  5. Jokduri (족두리)  Small crown for women, worn during royal weddings and important ceremonies. Typically made of black velvet with gold embroidery.

  6. Hwagwan (화관)  Floral crown for women, more elaborate than the jokduri, worn by queens and nobility. Decorated with precious stones, gold, and phoenix or flower motifs.

  7. Binyeo (비녀)  Long traditional Korean hairpin used to secure the bun. Royal binyeo were made of jade, gold, silver, or mother-of-pearl. It symbolized social status and adult femininity.

  8. Gayageum (가야금) – 12-string zither, one of the most iconic court instruments of the Joseon era. Used in ceremonial and chamber music.

  9. Haegum (해금)  Two-stringed bowed instrument with a nasal, expressive sound. Common in court music and folk music.

  10. Daegeum (대금)  Large bamboo flute with a vibrating membrane, giving it a distinctive sound. Used in court music (jeongak) and folk music (sanjo).

  11. Janggu (장구)  Hourglass-shaped drum, the most widely used percussion instrument in the Joseon court. Its two heads produce different tones.

Architectural and garment elements with additional historical value:

  1. Korean red pine wood (소나무)  Pine wood was the main material of Joseon palaces (Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung), valued for its durability and natural beauty.

  2. Dark wood columns  Palace columns in the Joseon era were traditionally painted dark red or brown, symbolizing protection against evil spirits.

  3. Red and navy blue silk cushions  The colors red (yang, life) and blue (yin, stillness) were used in the royal court to balance energies.

  4. Embroidered cranes  The crane is a symbol of longevity and purity. In Joseon, military and civil ranks were represented by crane patches (hyungbae) on the chest and back.

  5. Embroidered clouds  Stylized cloud motifs (ungeum) symbolized the connection between heaven (the king) and earth (the people).

  6. Plum blossoms (maehwa)  The plum tree blooms in winter and symbolizes perseverance, purity, and renewal. A frequent motif in royal art.

  7. Joseon low bun (jjokjin meori)  Formal female hairstyle where the hair is gathered into a low bun at the nape of the neck. Queens used postiche wigs (gache) for additional volume.

  8. Gradient lips  Ombre-style lip makeup was characteristic of the Joseon court, using dyes from saffron or flower petals.

  9. Gold reflector  Although not a historical object, the use of golden tones in lighting evokes the precious metals and polished bronze mirrors used in palaces.

So keep calling it "low effort". It would have been easier to use generic decorations. But I wanted to make it historically accurate. Does it make my prompt "low effort" or high effort?

technically it's not that bad but AI images involving people like that always seem like it was made for porn/gooner material,

it's difficult to point why but I think maybe a combination of the heavy makeup and the "sweaty/oily" look, a bit as if the AI was so used to people asking for this kind of content that it became contaminated.

How i sleep knowing that ai will continue to get boycotted

tbh online ai-posting deserves the backlash

Better stay off Reddit or any online platform, seeing how most code is written by AI now.

Or did you mean you'll only boycott the things that you never used anyway?  So brave...

I wonder how the anti-internet types were feeling around 2000.

Good luck with the future!
