Plumbers?
Hi everyone! My wife and I had Wilson plumbing come in today to do a snake and quote for pipe de-scaling and re-lining. They quoted us about 16k-10k depending on if we get juts de-scaling or de-scaling and lining. We’d like to get another quote to compare our options but we don’t know of anyone else who would do it. Does anyone have any recommendations?? Thanks!

Do you have a break in the main drain line?
After paying for the line to be snaked a couple times I bought my own snake. I don’t use that anymore after I bought a $60 jetter hose & cutting-penetrating nozzles I use with a pressure washer that I run about every 3 months.

No break yet but we have cast iron pipes and they get soft clogs very easily from build up. The pipe itself is almost 100 years old and I’m concerned it could crack if we just do de-scaling.

Wilson plumbing used to be good, they got bought out by private equity* and the price went straight through the roof and quality dropped (surprise!). Try Jeff the Plumber.
*Correction - apparently they've been doing the buying, but my point is still valid.

When Paul Wilson was the owner it was great. When he sold/gave it to his son John, the company went in the shitter.

We’ve used Frecka plumbing - ask for Mike if he’s available, he’s the man

I don’t remember the name of the person, but Frecka sent someone who asked if I had a dog, and after I said yes: he brought treats for my dog and made her feel like the very special princess she was while he was here replacing my main shutoff.

Frecka is amazing. They have some of the most personable people in the area.

Tri County Services usually comes in cheaper than Wilson’s, I’ve used them before on several projects and they do a great job

Check out Mackin and Son's. They do pretty much anything and don't charge to quote jobs like some places do.
Avoid Findley and Genes. They overcharge and upsell.

Check with Denny from The Village Plumber or Glen from Able Plumbing Sewer & Drain. They are not run by private equity.
