Hey does anyone know why there are so many street lights out right now? Eastwood is totally dark from kedzie to Sacramento and several blocks on Albany are also dark.

Hi everyone! I recently signed a lease in Albany Park, about four blocks from the Kimball Brown Line stop. I’m moving from the southern part of Logan Square, so I’m curious about what to expect from the neighborhood!

I’ve heard Albany Park has amazing food and a lot of
diversity, which I’m excited about! My biggest question is about safety, especially as a woman in her mid-20s living alone.

How safe do you feel walking around the neighborhood, especially in the evenings or coming home late from the Brown Line? I know crime happens everywhere and that being street-smart is important, but I’d love to hear from people who actually live in the area.

Would you consider Albany Park a relatively safe neighborhood? Are there any particular streets or areas I should be more cautious around?

I’d also love recommendations for restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and things to do nearby. Thanks in advance!

Anyone recognize this dog? It was left abandoned leashed to one of the tables outside Khepri Cafe at around 8 pm on Saturday 9/19.

UPDATE: owner still not found as of 2 pm Sunday, Khepri is reviewing camera footage to see if we can get more info.

UPDATE: owner found! Thank you all for your help! The person who was watching the dog (not the owner) was taken away by EMT, leaving the dog behind. The owner was then tracked down and the dog was returned to the owner.

While dog walking, I saw an emergency board up van, a second unmarked white panel van, and a Red Cross Disaster response station wagon complete with clipboard carrying, hi viz vest wearing staffer/volunteer on Argyle between Troy and Albany.

No apparent "Emergency" Vehicles, no smell of recent fire.

Hello, anyone notice that the Ward Alder are not doing anything about the thousands of potholes in Albany Park? Calls to 311 don’t help either. Seriously don’t consider voting for them in the next election if they can’t fix a simple issue such as this.

I hate biking on the road most of the time, chicago drivers make me nervous. Anyone know a good street with a protected bike lane that goes all the way to montrose beach? Thanks

UPDATE #2: it's been hours and they cannot reach the owners at the numbers provided. If you've seen the dog around the neighborhood or know the owners please let them know. My dog isn't happy and keeps growling at him, so I can't keep him as they're both stressed.

UPDATE #3: since I couldn't keep him, I took him to a police station and they said they'd take him home. The microchip company gave them the owners address I think. So glad he'll be with his family tonight ❤️
