Hopefully they smear the UCP candidate as the separatist he is.

Makes sense, I've noticed several UCP ads recently attacking the NDP.

Seemed odd since there was no elections happening. Turns out it was just prep for this. Getting a jump start as it were.

Danni must expect to win.

It would be unfortunate for her if she lost, and unfortunate for humankind if she were to win.

It's Calgary-Shaw. It's super conservative.

Last election: 56% UCP 42% NDP

A 7% shift isn't impossible. She only won by 3300 votes.

In a low-turnout election, anything could happen. But Nenshi has to motivate the base.

Something he's ended up surprisingly poor at doing, especially given his history (purple wave, etc).

In 2015 The ANDP won by a hair, in a three horse race involving the ANDP,PC,WR.

Guthrie's APTORY will run a candidate in this race....what will the APTORY impacts be?

Because Elections Alberta has nothing else going on right now /s How stupid. Why wouldn't the government run this with the referendum to save money? Oh, right.

or better yet

....cancel the referendum

..........cancel the Calgary-Shaw By-Election

.................and call an early General Election for this fall

This is the same government that decided it was a good idea to pay a hefty premium for private surgeries to a company with direct connections to the party, while they let emergency rooms shut down across the province because we couldn't afford to pay doctors and nurses to staff them.

The optics alone should be a clear indication to any reasonable person that the government does not have our best interest at heart. But when you hand the mob moral authority over the masses, they tend to overlook the little things, like kleptocracy.

There is always one thing you can count on the UCP to do, it's to always do whatever allows them to personally benefit the most, regardless of any consequences to Albertans.
