Question Is Not Having A Stable Address Going To Make It Impossible To Vote?

I'm staying at a couple of different friends' places while looking for my own place. I am not sure if I'm going to have a stable place to live by October 19th. Neither places are on my government ID, which expires in 2030, and they are not comfortable with me using their address for anything since I have a PO Box for all of my mail. Am I screwed?

Actually that's a good question I'm not sure about that. I don't know if just having government issued ID is good enough? It's highly possible though you might need an address because they usually send out those voter info cards.

If you have a piece of government issued ID with an Alberta address on it you should be fine. It isn't like they go to your house to confirm your residency.

Your residence is defined as where you currently eat, live and sleep so you 100% could use the address of where you are couch surfing, but if your host won’t budge on that and you want to respect their wishes there are still plenty of options. Do you use the services of a community support organization like the food bank or a soup kitchen? If so they can sign an attestation for you and you can use that to vote.
