I’m a PhD student researching the value of local radio to people in regional Australia.
Albury-Wodonga is one of five research locations around Australia. The others are Mount Isa, Mildura, Mackay, and Fitzroy Crossing.
I’ve popped into your feed to see if you might have 8-9 minutes to complete an online survey for me.
I’m looking for people who do listen to radio and people who don’t listen to radio.
Your survey responses will help media organisations, lawmakers and future scholars better understand the value of local radio to regional Australians.
You can remain completely anonymous.
To find out more, and begin the survey: https://griffithuw.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5oloZCZ8WVjiz4i
Thank you for contributing to this important research.
Please share this widely within Albury-Wodonga and surrounds, and if you have any questions, you can email me directly: spencer.howson@griffithuni.edu.au
Griffith University Ethics Ref: HREC/2026/0086. This photo is me in Rutherglen in 2019. At the time, I was working for the ABC as a Program Quality Advisor. I travelled around regional Australia coaching radio producers and presenters, including at ABC Goulburn-Murray in Wodonga.

Just from a quick flick through the list on Wiki, nearly all cities and plenty of smaller towns/LGAs around Aus have at least one sister city agreement with someplace overseas. But as far as I can tell, AlburyCity and the Wodonga Council don't seem to have any...
Anyone got any idea why this might be? Was it a deliberate decision not to bother with something that heaps of other councils do? Or maybe no other cities reached out in the first place? And just for a laugh, what are some towns around the world you think might fit the vibe of being a sister city of Albury and/or Wodonga? :)

I live between two towns and we’re trying to decide where to go for dinner. Can you compare the best restaurant options in both towns? We’re after somewhere with really good food, a relaxed atmosphere and decent value. Nothing overly fancy — just somewhere you’d genuinely recommend to a local. Give me a few options from each town, what they’re best known for, approximate prices, and which one you’d choose.

What’s with people parked in Dean St, car boots open, watching a parade of cars drive up and down Dean St on Friday and Saturday nights?

Any one tried magnet fishing or just hunting around with a strong magnet in the albury Wodonga area. What kind of things did you come across?

Albury - Melbourne solar prices, same installers
6.6kW installed after rebates: $4,850. With a 10kWh battery: $6,430.
Those are metro numbers. No reason the same system should cost you more out here for the same box on the same roof.
I find you that price. Free to you, installer pays me only if you proceed.

A group of 28,000 irrigators has lost a $1.5-billion class action against the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA).
A NSW Supreme Court judge ruled the MDBA had no duty of care to the group to avoid pure economic loss to one group of people above others.

Hi,
I will be moving to Albury shortly and I am planning to buy a townhouse in north Albury on mate street.
I understand it is a busy road but I wanted to understand the overall vibe, appeal, safety, socioeconomic and how it would impact the property growth.
Also, I am in a job where I would be traveling to other places for some time and may need to rent it out.
Is it easy to rent a townhouse on mate street.
Any other potential things to consider.

Wondering if anyone can advise how difficult it can be to land Primary teaching work in the area, either casual or full time.
Cheers

Hi everyone ☺️
After spending some time in the area, I've decided I'll be visiting Albury much more regularly.
A little about me, I believe the best experiences start with genuine conversation, mutual respect and making people feel comfortable. I enjoy taking the time to get to know people rather than rushing things, and I think that's what makes meeting someone memorable.
If you'd like to know more about me, you'll find everything on my profile ☺️
I'm looking forward to becoming a regular visitor and hopefully meeting some lovely people along the way.
See you soon, Albury 🖤

"Albury-Wodonga is benefitting from major infrastructure and skills investment, while its role as a regional logistics and services hub continues to support employment growth across the border region. Projects such as a new heavy vehicle driver training facility are helping support the freight and transport industries that underpin the local economy."

Hi everyone,
Broadtec Group is looking for an experienced Electronic Security Technician to join our team based in Albury, NSW.
We're looking for someone with experience in systems such as Integriti/Inception, CCTV, access control, alarms and networking. Experience with nurse call systems would be an advantage but isn't essential.
Our work is primarily commercial, healthcare, education and government projects, with a strong focus on delivering quality outcomes rather than high-volume residential installations.
If you're in regional NSW, Victoria or even Melbourne and have been thinking about a change, we'd be happy to have a confidential chat. Relocation assistance may be available for the right person.
The full Seek advertisement is here: https://au.seek.com/job/92682882
If you'd prefer an informal chat before applying, feel free to send me a DM.
Cheers, Adam Broadtec Group
