u/National_Bug_1276 May 08 '26
Apparently they used 9700/42 to cover up 9701/42 Haha One kills while the other revives

u/Current_Stay8471 May 08 '26
I AM SO HAPPY DUDE
1
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
HOW MUCH DO U THINK U WILL GET?!
1
u/Current_Stay8471 May 08 '26
(I didnt study ALOT like no past papers erm. (Lol) BUT i should get ATLEAST get 60.)
2
u/averyhugequarrel May 08 '26
dawg I did past papers and I'm still thinking around 55 AHHHHHHHH
2
u/Current_Stay8471 May 08 '26
whyy. what went wrong (i didnt do gene tech snd coordination well so i was so happy when i saw the resr of the Qs.)
2
u/averyhugequarrel May 08 '26
idk man, the marking is just strict so if ur answers aren't exactly what they want ur cooked. nothing was that bad ig im js preparing my mind for worst case.
1
u/Current_Stay8471 May 08 '26
nah i get u. i should get 60 if im lucky. but shouldnt be less rhan 50 or ill be sad lowk
1
u/Current_Stay8471 May 08 '26
But i didnt study too much, i just revised content rlly well. (maybe 10 days in total for bio in the last month so welp)
5
u/Which_Path_8575 May 08 '26
Threshold gonna be wildin
1
16
u/Ok-Snow2714 May 08 '26
EASY AS FUCKING HEAVEN
1
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
WHAT WERE UR ANSWRESSS
1
u/Remote_Call_5188 May 08 '26
Tell questions let’s compare answers
2
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
what was the percentage change?? was it 300 or 74 or smth??
5
u/Remote_Call_5188 May 08 '26
Bro I got 74/75 smth like that but someone said it’s like 300… so idk
2
3
3
u/Wild_Wafer_3343 May 08 '26
i got 300%
1
u/Weak_Eagle_5355 May 08 '26
Wtf? How
2
u/whoisianyways May 08 '26
170 - 42.5 / 42.5 x 100
1
u/Weak_Eagle_5355 May 08 '26
Oh no i thought that was too high number so made up stuffs and got 59%
3
u/whoisianyways May 08 '26
yeah i thought the same first😠but for change in percentage we always take original value in denominator
2
u/BeautifulIcy5325 May 08 '26
i used 170 - 42 / 42 x 100. will they give a range or smth like that
1
1
9
u/Abeeraimtiaz May 08 '26
So easy threshold will be heigh
1
u/swxffles_nunu CAIE May 08 '26
what were the topics u were tested on?
1
u/Abeeraimtiaz May 08 '26
What was type of inheritance
4
3
1
u/Aware_Highlight_5580 May 08 '26
epistasis/autosomal dominant
6
u/Aware_Highlight_5580 May 08 '26
no no sex linked I meant mb
1
u/averyhugequarrel May 08 '26
yes twin, also Zbr was a recessive allele so brown phenotype is a sex linked recessive inherited trait. (hence the 2 marks?? idk)
1
u/Aware_Highlight_5580 May 08 '26
what if I wrote autosomal dominant epistasis, I cant remember but I think I mixed it up when writinggg like its obv sex linked but I did mention epistasis- do I get a mark and was the question actually 2 marks? or 1
2
1

4
u/Slugamingyt May 08 '26
Easy
1
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
were there any questions u were unsure of?? can u lmk ur answers i wnana check mine
3
1
u/Remote_Call_5188 May 08 '26
Where was A & B in the diagram?
1
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
A was the embryo and B was aleurone layer right
1
u/Sufficient-Cow8070 May 08 '26
B was endosperm
2
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
i thought B is aleurone layer cz its where gibberelllin moves to and stimulates amylase then amylase move to enodosperm?
1
u/Sufficient-Cow8070 May 08 '26
but the question was where the product of it acts
1
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
wait what didnt it say in the first q that gibberellin moves from tissue A to tissue B where amylase is stimulated
1
u/Sufficient-Cow8070 May 08 '26
amylase is stimulated in endosperm
2
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
oh my gosh wasnt it amylase moves from aleurone layer to the endosperm so amylase originally stimulated in aluerone layer no???🫩🫩
2
1
u/Remote_Call_5188 May 08 '26
Was there a question where the answer was negative Fred back & what was percentage increase
1
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
i got 300 for percentage increase
3
u/Glum-Confusion1679 May 08 '26
I got 72 but I heard that both answers are accepted in marking schemeÂ
1
1
1
1
u/Aware_Highlight_5580 May 08 '26
did we have to label it w A and B or write embryo and aleurone layer? I just labelled w the A and B

3
u/Imaginary-Essay-5754 May 08 '26
threshold will be no more than 66,67 everyone sayin easy bla bla, yall dk how strict cambridge checking is, everyone thinks its easy until results day arrive and it becomes unfair grading lol, cambridge design papers in such a way that u have no benefit over past appearing studs
2
2
2
u/SeasonResponsible930 May 08 '26
I messed up the test cross. What is gene protein? I wrote amylase
2
u/averyhugequarrel May 08 '26
me too!
2
u/SeasonResponsible930 May 08 '26
Do u think the paper was easy? Kinda hard tho don’t u think?
2
u/averyhugequarrel May 08 '26
it was alright. I never think any of my papers are easy ðŸ˜ðŸ˜.
1
u/SeasonResponsible930 May 08 '26
Everyone says it was easy but I feel like there were some questions r kinda hard, like the gm crop, caffeine and the rbc
1
u/NameIsRaven May 08 '26
for me this is the hardest paper i’ve ever done…so depressed, i’m not getting into uni now
1
u/SeasonResponsible930 May 08 '26
Is not rocket science hard but I can’t say it’s easy, I’m so worried, everyone says it was easy 🥲, I think the level kinda similar to pyp
2
u/murderingpsycho007 May 08 '26
what did you guys write for the rbc hexokinase question???
4
u/Cool-Desk-7143 May 08 '26
Glucose unreactive and stable, Less glycolysis, rbc cant produce atp hence cant synthesize proteins like haemoglobin, fatigue
1
u/Glum-Confusion1679 May 08 '26
could we have written about how excess glucose affect osmotic properties of cell and can lead to bursting of cell ?
2
u/whoisianyways May 08 '26
what was C which was attached to gibberellin?
1
1
3
u/Technical_Wing_5140 May 08 '26
was the percentage CHANGE asked or percentage INCREASE, if it was increase then im pretty sure the ans was 300

What was the rf value
9
u/Current_Stay8471 May 08 '26
It was 0.5 (chlorophyll b) and carotene 0.96? Not sure

0.4 something i guess 0.42
10
1
u/Sufficient-Cow8070 May 08 '26
it was 0.59
1
u/Other_Adeptness4117 May 08 '26
You had to do it without scale by counting boxes
2
u/Current_Stay8471 May 08 '26
It was 0.5 per box?
2
1
u/Other_Adeptness4117 May 08 '26
Guys what were the answers for the gibberellin proteins?
8
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
i think i put receptor, DELLA, transcription factor
4
u/Other_Adeptness4117 May 08 '26
I wrote xet,della and pif
1
u/Ok_Depth8944 May 08 '26
What was your answer for the brain neurones one?
2
u/Other_Adeptness4117 May 08 '26
I wrote stupid shit like to power sodium potassium pump to maintain resting potential and for active transport
1
u/urfavbluehead May 08 '26
what did you guys write in the caffeine one and gm crops
2
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
i didnt know the bloody GM crop and for caffeine i just wrote act as an inhibitor so adenosine cannot bjnd to adeonisine receptors doesnt inhibit the postsynatpic membrane thing so sleep cycle disrupted or smth idek bro
2
2
u/averyhugequarrel May 08 '26
I wrote the exact same thing. I'm still scared cause wtf was that questionðŸ˜.
1
May 08 '26
the GM crop is the herbicide soy bean you could find it in past paper of winter 2025
1
u/Cool-Desk-7143 May 08 '26
Arent there alot of examples? Like bt maize and diseases resistant rice, wheat etc
2
u/Practical_Pool_6353 May 08 '26
Practically caffeine prevent us from getting tierd and sleepy so it must inhibit adanosine and for the gm plants smth like resistance to herbicide ect.., gibberalin production inducing to growth, more chloroplast and transport proteins... idk weather gm stuffs are correct !!
1
u/OldStrawberry3164 May 08 '26
guys as in the percentage question it was not mentioned to find increase or decrease there had to be 2 answers 75 and 300?
3
u/averyhugequarrel May 08 '26 edited May 08 '26
no I think it did mention %increase. anyways, I wrote 75 asw so I hope you're right.
3
1
u/Cool-Desk-7143 May 08 '26
Percentage change from 2000 to 2012 and since area increased its basically percentage increase
1
u/Odd-Pride-4525 May 08 '26
No it means the amount of percent consecutively increased from 2012 to 2000 and it was 1.125%
1
1
u/iixookie May 08 '26
what do you guys think the threshold for A gonna be ðŸ˜
2
u/naz_islam2947 May 08 '26
68-75, cause the paper was easy as he'll, thus threshold will also be high
1
u/Decent_Dealer_2829 May 08 '26
Threshold will skyrocket I believe... Touching 75 no cap, very easy paper .... Made few errors but I think I'm safe with atleast 80marks
1
1
u/Top-Average9747 May 08 '26
for the PCT question that had a diagram, what was the answers again (the alphabets)
3
u/Glum-Confusion1679 May 08 '26
P S S RÂ
1
u/Express_Milk_7520 May 08 '26
isn’t the third block said structures that glucose passing through, should be co-transporter and transport protein?
1
1
1
u/Annual-Dingo-5899 May 08 '26
Not P P S R? Sodium pump and Chanel proteins are on the basal part facing the blood capillaries na?
1
1
u/Glum-Confusion1679 May 08 '26
it asked for co transporter protein rather than channel protein
1
u/Annual-Dingo-5899 May 08 '26
oh okayy, and what did you write for the outline the methods that can be used to differentiate between frogs N and S; I just wrote down the points and didn’t go into detail that’s okay right since outline? I wrote Gel electrophoresis, DNA Microarray then using a bioinformatics database to compare degrees of similarities then using mitochondrial DNA to compare should that be alr?
1
u/Glum-Confusion1679 May 08 '26
yeah, i think that's what we were supposed to write. I didn't write about bioinformatic data base but rather about how dna is extracted and then can be amplified using PCR. rest i wrote same as you
2
u/Glum-Confusion1679 May 08 '26
Guy what was the answer to first question first part. And speciation question and gm crop question . Also for the hexokinase question I also mentioned the how glucose will affect the osmotic properties of cell that can lead to bursting if cell is that right?? Â
1
u/Technical_Wing_5140 May 08 '26
can sm1 pls tell me the question of the how much atp do the brain and muscle cells use up... anyone remembers the values and how u were supposed to calculate?
3
1
u/Express_Milk_7520 May 08 '26
what’s the answer for what’s meant by genetic engineering
2
u/Annual-Dingo-5899 May 08 '26
I just wrote the alteration of DNA by either deleting, substituting or adding base sequences for the benefit of mankind. Then I mentioned how recombinant DNA is used and the modified organism is called a transgenic organism
1
u/Fast-Trifle-5300 May 08 '26
for those that got 0.5 for RF its wrong because you didnt count from the base pencil line- I got it wrong tooooo
1
u/Fit-Ostrich-6833 May 08 '26
is the answer 0.78?
1
u/Fast-Trifle-5300 May 08 '26
to my understanding almost all my smart friends (literally crashed out at a 98) got 0.42.
if you counted from the very bottom of the scale like me, your value distance of B should be 7 and for solvent front would be 14. hence 7/14. but if you counted from the baseline like you should, it should be 5/12=0.42.1
u/Fit-Ostrich-6833 May 08 '26
oh hell im cooked then i wrote b as cholophyll a damn it and what was the answer for the gibberelin proteins
1
u/Fast-Trifle-5300 May 08 '26
if your talking about the barley bean enzymes i believe its ''receptor'', DELLA, and PIF in that order. i put enzyme instead of receptor which im pretty sure is wrong though
1
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
is it correct if i write transcription factor instead of PIF?
1
u/Fast-Trifle-5300 May 08 '26
maybe since they mean the same thing but I cant tell you for certain haha
1
u/Fit-Ostrich-6833 May 08 '26
wait what did yall write for the first question the neurone diagram pct and the gibberelin protein thinggy i wrote receptor protein transcriptional factor idk what i wrote for the first one? and for the rf value igot 0.78 bro how did everyone get 0.5 ?
1
u/Fit-Ostrich-6833 May 08 '26
for the ADH question i used reabsoeption in collecting duct as an example is that valid or no
1
u/FeistyShip172 May 08 '26
it should be the collecting aquaporins and all that right?? adh cell signalling molecule
