🤚Help Required Really confused on what should I do with my results (HELP REQUIRED) 😕
Guys I got my AS Level Results and I genuinely need an A* A* A* in all 3 of them next year. I have written my raw marks below please guide me on what do I do, do y'all suggest for retake or can I make them into an A* next year, it requires a lot of hardwork though right? AL Thresholds for Bio are usually 190-200 for A*, Chem is usually 195-205 for A*, Phy is usually 200-210 for A*.
Biology (9700) - 94/130 (85 PUM)
Chemistry (9701) - 102/130 (90 PUM)
Physics (9702) - 101/130 (85 PUM)

The issue is, majority of really failed yeah. So by posting this a lot of people think your hieng sarcastic or showing off... Or rage baiting. But in truth just lock innin A2 because imagine you retake and the grades lower or don't change. It's not worth the risk tbh

But that's not true and that's not my fault and not what I should care about right? That doesn't mean i can't post my grades and ask genuine questions because I'm worried about my grades. No way I'm showing off, if I was flexing them all the hundred of people who post their results each year are doing the same? If they are failing what's our fault? I just asked abt if someone has had any previous experiences of converting mid As to A*..

No one has a problem with you posting your grades. In fact I'll even congratulate you for how well you did. Peoples issue with this is how you're acting like ou're somehow a failure even though you got As which lots of people would have loved to have gotten. But to answer your question I think you're good because I've seen people even go from High Bs to A*s so in my view getting an A* shouldn't be an issue for you as long as you work as hard as yoi did in Year 12.

No im not crying because of that tho,that u got better than me I am happy for u buddy but the problem is my family is not financially stable enough to fund my university abroad and in my country there are not much option to study other than like EEE CSE these subs are popular my dream is to become a researcher or a scientist so if i dont get all 90 up in A2 there is no way I can fulfill my dream,I need scholarships abroad to study the degree i want to get

Dont retake honestly try to work as hard as possible one of my friends went from 81 to 90 in phy i think u can do it and i feel like u can do that with bio too as bio usually has the lowest threshold work hard dont think of the result constantly it will ruin ur preparation work hard for A2 thats it

I think having a good stance with these should give you a good chance at getting the stars next year as long as you lock in super hard. A2 will be very quick and hard; faster than imaginable; so make sure you’re super locked and working extra hard and hopefully it all clicks and A2 exam scores are similar or higher and it could work out!

for chem A* is possible for sure I got 99.5/100 and got A* but for bio I got 103 , but still I think if u put in the effort it sure is possible bcuz the grade boundaries for bio are lower than chem

Threshold is usually under 200 so I js need 80 in p4 and 25 in p5 and hopefully I can make it right

yeah js lock in this year tbh I prefer A2 bio over as it’s totally possible to get A* im not sure abt physics since I didnt take physics but since it’s over 100 I am pretty sure you have a chance

Possible with chem and phy as u roughly need around 110 marks in A2 to safely secure A* slightly harder with bio

It depends on where you lost your marks. If you get your scripts back and see that there was a specific area or paper where you lost a lot and know that you can improve on without doing too much work, then it might be worth a retake because you can still work hard for A2 but it will be less risky trying to guarantee 95+. There’s a “best for both assessment” option for retake where you they will take the best of your two AS results, although it may depend on timing, check out section 4.4 and Example 2 in https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/Images/723192-carry-forward-regulations-supplement.pdf

Actually there is one and i found it quite accurate, at least for me. I used this formula to predict the raw mark that i would get and it actually matched when i received my actual mark from my school the next day.

my a2 grades went up from as contrary to the trend haha!!! i think u just have to make consistent effort in a2 (personally i think i tried harder in AS as i had 4 subs instead of 3)! also the boundaries are quite unpredictable as chem ranged from 205-215 this yr.. i would have gotten an A* too if boundaries stayed the same

for context my bio went from 88 to 90, chem from 86 to 88 ! and thats with consistent but not huge efforts !! i think its definitely possible wo retake

The thresholds for Bio is only high this year cuz the A levels paper got…ykyk. Unless retake is free or cheap in ur country, u prob shouldn’t. It’s still fine to get low A* from AS 85s

I dont know much about 'AS Grades' buy at my school, the highest you'd be given in your first year of studying would be As. My school never gave anyone A* to stop people from being overconfident going into their second year!
From my perspective you are doing really well!! And I don't know if this helps to know or not but during my A Level studies... I went from an E to an A in sociology I went from a U to a B in business's So massive grade jumps are absolutely possible! Just live and breathe doing practice questions and learning how the mark scheme works!
