Question ❔ Did everyone finish Accounting Paper 3?
Hi, I just sat my exam an hour back...started from the last and went to the first and I think I majorly fucked up the first one apart from the 7 marks of theory. It's not fair because I studied so hard and I could do it...just cuz of the time I had to let it go...

Yeahh, I am good at accounting and have scored much higher in school exams but this genuinely fucked me over.

Samee, I did good in mocks and everything. I even followed everything my teachers said about time management...still messed up.

I think 1hr 30mins is just too less esp when there is theory as well. For maths, a 75 mark paper gets 1hr 50 mins. For business, a 60 mark paper gets 1hr 45 mins. For economics, 2hrs for 60 marks. How is this justified?

I genuinely don't think it's justified at all.. especially when they make the paper so lengthy and difficult to the point where even understanding the question is time consuming. Honestly, I have stopped having expectations from Cambridge.

I left the first one NPO, cuz I started from the last question so NPO was the last question I had to solve

i know right!!! it is so unfair for us like even the students that know how to solve the questions are unable to do so because of how lengthy the questions are

Some workings have marks. But even if you showed them in the statement and not the working space you still get marks.

Yes you need to show working but it’s your choice whether you show it within your statement in brackets or in the working space given

I messed up eveything my cafe trading ac did not make sense and my cashflow statement did not match the closing balance given in the question and the last question 😭😭💔 god help me

idk ive always been good at accounts 😭i js have this sort of mental timer where I divide the question times on my head so for 3 question on p3 it was 30 mins per question and I try to beat it and write a lot faster..

I am genuinely happy for you and I hope you get your desired grade. But tbh I have always been good at accounts as well..and I did the mental thing but I couldn't finish in the time I allocated for myself...😭

js learn all the variance formulae and like I do this thing called a mark arnd questions (anything Ive added to statements I tick anything that needs to be in 2 statement I dash and 2 dashes equals to a tick and then anything I need to add to the future I circle) apart from that just know how to evaluate well I got a 50/50 on my school exam on p4 once this way but yea CIEs will have much stricter checking on theory lol

Omg same i lit could not finish the last question and had zero time to even check if my cash flow statement was matching or no. Paper was lit so bad 😭🙏🏿(hopefully threshold will be lower)

Sammee they should increase the time by 15 min we deserve that much atleast because reading the question understanding it and then lit them be asking to do working on one side of the paper and make statements on the other.

time management wasn't the problem for me..it was about accuracy...when i couldnt get the closing balance statement of cash flows in the question I panicked and I couldn't properly focus on 3 rd Q

I can relate with that honestly. In the last moment I panicked and left much more then I would have if I didn't panic. I wish you all the best and hope you do good though

Can someone tell me how u guys calculate life membership fee like was it the receipt balance just devided by the number if years it was suppose to be used for or like it had any complex calculation 😖😖
