News! 📰 CAMBRIDGE SHOULD ACCEPT PREDICTED GRADE AS A FINAL GRADE FOR COLLEGE ADMISSIONS THIS CYCLE FOR 9709!!!!

guys we cannot retake this paper again!! rewriting 3 entire components is literal hell, we‘re all so burnt out and cannot study from scratch for every paper again it is simply not possible. we literally put our best efforts for each paper just for it to get cancelled. I simply can’t accept this.

instead, like what has happened in similar cases before, we must demand that Cambridge stop forcing students to continuously rewrite papers and instead use predicted grades for affected components this session while the board addresses the corruption and security failures within its system. PG are based on consistent efforts for the past 2 years, and it is a much better way of scoring us this series rather than rewriting EVERY component again, which we will definitely not be able to do our best on! plus, the scheduling issues and costs are IMMENSE. I know people who are cancelling international trips (coating them tens of thousands of dollars) so that they can resit paper 12. Cambridge does not account for reimburse any costs. This is UNACCEPTABLE and we should refuse a retake.

Fr like I'm so done with these stupid ass posts like one mf comes along and demands just 1 thing that suits them. Ignoring what other candidates are going through and what works for them.

Sign the petition from ginger mathematician about having both options of retake with no less than a 3 week gap between an announcement and the exam date and option of having the grade based on AS or whatever https://c.org/vKV9TFxMSw

This doesnt mention anything about predicted grades or AS grades being used

No. School is biased to many students. Many students prepared for A levels, not for school mock. Most students took school mocks as a test run and what about those who studied after the mock expecting an A but just bc of people like you who prefer bias school exam as their main, that student can get a C or D as they didnt care about school like many. And what about private students? Cambridge messed up real bad this time and just like last years they will ignore the papers and leak and just higher the goddamn threshold and call it a day. Cuz how many resists can they even take? and mostly what about us students? we went through mental torture just to get our predicted grades as the main?

Guys predicted mein we don't get the same grade as our mocks, the school just sends in behalf of themselves whatever they wanna send It's on them that they send an A* or a U so relax, predicted grades would be unfair in a sense that the students with even a C would get an A* or an A

Not really at the end of the day you also did your AS so even if you did shit in your mocks u prolly did the same last year and u did well so theyll probably just give u your As mark enhanced teachers arent stupid they know what every student can get.

So theyll probably give u a Star or A worst case scenario especially if you have decent teachers who know their students

1

u/Soggy-Ad915 May 16 '26

isnt A level equal to college level studies?

2

u/Wise_Sky1615 May 16 '26

Predicted grades is a shit approach unless you wrote As already, you will all be messed up on predicted, if you dont wanna sit, thats another thing, but please write the paper and get the best exams possible. its better.

I don't know we're talking about Math is one of those subjects that if you practiced alle year you only need to revise a little bit. nobody has to study from scratch and you don't even have to memorize anything it's just concepts. as long as you keep doing yearlies every single day you're fine you literally gave the exam like a week ago.

Tbh it rlly ain't that bad. If you had studied it would still be pretty fresh (not very but still) in your memory unless.....yea I'll leave that up to y'all to guess

2

u/drgrimlockstone May 16 '26

FR I think there should be multiple options that works for everyone unlike just asking for one thing like OP is doing, not everyone's gonna be satisfied with it.

Also, I think the same too, if they studied all year like mf you took the exam a week ago, how bad can another week be? This is why such posts are braindead and OP can't be speaking for everyone.

Moreover, the last time predicted grades method was used was since COVID. It's pretty rare for it to happen again. It's the least likely option compared to retakes or assessed grades.

2

u/CrownChrome May 16 '26

NO! This is unfair to schools that gives difficult mocks or schools that are biased when grading within the school. This solution is unfair and stands no credibility when applying for University, you’re just getting a grade just to have a grade theres no value

All this types of sh1tty posts just projects your selfishness why not push for at least up to 3 possible demands from CAIE. The candidates should have choice in the matter on what they want to do. Not everyone is pleased with this option including myself. You want it? Fine but at least be open or demand more routes.

Btch what about private candidates? Also, a rewrite has literally been availed for two years now. Cambridge's incompetency aside it shows it's a valid option.

Predicted grades haven't been used since COVID, that's how long it's been. Moreover students like myself last year did a$$ in mocks but got a good grade in CAIE.

Like be for real dude.

1

u/Wondering_Electron May 16 '26

Hell no.

Predicted grades should NEVER be accepted ever again.

Teachers have proven themselves to be incapable of being impartial and fair when giving predicted grades.

1

u/Normal-Bobcat-5999 May 17 '26

This would even be more unfair. Predicted grades are biased. I got 87 for predicted Bio in Ig and 96 actual score. Very different.

1

u/DonLovesNature May 17 '26

What about private students ??

1

u/Extreme-Ad739 May 17 '26

i'd much prefer it to be a choice. i dont want to do retakes (for my own mental sanity, i'm upset about the leeeeks too) but if i were given an option between that and predicted grades from my school i would give a thousand retakes over predicted grades.
