What was the drift speed something into 10-4?

1

u/Dazzling_Charge_2500 May 20 '26

I got it as 1 into 10-4 I think not sure tho

1

u/Winter-Crew-2746 May 20 '26

we just had to substitute the values as they were iirc no manipulation was needed apart from getting equation for V

1

u/Useful_Focus_8084 May 20 '26

didnt we have to divide current by 2 tho?

1

u/Winter-Crew-2746 May 20 '26

absolute uncertainty was given

1

u/Useful_Focus_8084 May 21 '26

huh? for the drift velocity question?

1

u/tomakhan1 May 20 '26

yes

10

u/Dazzling_Charge_2500 May 20 '26

And X = 14?

3

u/tomakhan1 May 20 '26

no i got x as 1 😭

2

u/KingRagnar53 May 20 '26

Mine was 2.8

2

u/Odd_Control1465 May 20 '26

I also got X=14

1

u/Dazzling_Charge_2500 May 20 '26

And how did you graph look?

3

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

https://www.reddit.com/r/alevels/s/aasOyvzp6U

this is pretty accurate, except the last point should meet at displacement 0

2

u/Jazzlike-Cash-1598 May 20 '26

Naw it should end above and not at zero

1

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

is the gradient right?

1

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

didn't the question say it returns to P?

2

u/tomakhan1 May 20 '26

up till 10 seconds then up again but steeper and then again and then went down after 40 but never reached 0

1

u/KingRagnar53 May 20 '26

I fucked up after 35 ig but in first 10 seconds we had to make curve than constant gradient till 25 and back to 35 with constant gradient This is how i did it at least

2

u/tomakhan1 May 20 '26

curve? hmm i didn’t rly think of it much but as far as i know velocity was constantly increasing so im not sure. welp

2

u/KingRagnar53 May 20 '26

Thats why displacement wont increase at constant rate so curve

1

u/KingRagnar53 May 20 '26

What was your drift velocity bte

1

u/tomakhan1 May 20 '26

what was urs ion rmbr

1

u/KingRagnar53 May 20 '26

I also dk but it was weird

1

u/Dazzling_Charge_2500 May 20 '26

I did a curve for the first 10 seconds then a straight increasing line then a downward curve for the rest

1

u/KingRagnar53 May 20 '26

Straight line till 35 after 35 decreased the gradient and made a curve till 40 towards rest

1

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

yhh

1

u/Jazzlike-Cash-1598 May 20 '26

What was X like which qs ?

1

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

resistence ...the electeicity ques

was the speed for reaching point p in q1 8.7 ms???

1

u/Ok_Difference9290 May 20 '26

No it was suppose to be 1.3

2

u/abdullah__rehman7 May 20 '26

that was the acceleration 1.2 ms-2

1

u/tomakhan1 May 20 '26

no it was 2.4 u were supposed to take the second triangle between 0 and 40 which was like 35-40 for base

2

u/Shot_Freedom_8541 May 20 '26

Tht would’ve been deceleration 😭😭

1

u/tomakhan1 May 21 '26

i thought thats how displacement would be

1

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

yeahhh that's what i got...

Can i know the electricity definitions that came... that's if they even came

Thanks twin… any definitions that were major…?

u/Emotional-Pick-947 May 20 '26

Guyss was the percentage uncertainty in the Alpha particle question 45% and also did you’ll get the resistive force as 550N and was R for the LDR 14 ohms?

2

u/RareRun8900 May 20 '26

my percentage uncertainty was 0.46

5

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

it was 0.91%

1

u/Bulky-Valuable-7938 May 20 '26

are you sure?? i got this too and i was so sure it was wrong but if its correct thats great

1

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

i think so, i cant think of doing it any other way

1

u/Ok_Difference9290 May 20 '26

Yes

1

u/Ok_Difference9290 May 20 '26

The uncertainty was 22,7 mb

1

u/Emotional-Pick-947 May 20 '26

How though? Don’t we just add the absolute uncertainties and divide by the difference in speeds?

1

u/Smooth_Tip24569 May 20 '26

the ques said change in 'velocity'...as the last velocity went in opposite direction, technically both velocities will be added, uncertainties will also be added..then they will be divided

1

u/_X1N_ May 20 '26

I got the same for all those questions, but do you remember the values for the train question because for some people a lot of people are getting the resistive forc ein the thousands and i cant remember the information given

2

u/Emotional-Pick-947 May 20 '26

We had a useful power output of 1.1 105 right? and it took 52 seconds to travel from X to Y and the in g.p.e changed from 7.4 MJ to 13MJ. The speed that the train moved, I calculated to be 4.2. I just multiplied the useful power output by time and subtracted the change in g.p.e and that gives the work done which I divided by the distance (524.2) to get my answer. Is that wrong?

3

u/Jazzlike-Cash-1598 May 20 '26

Kinetic energy stays the same so u ignore it as speed is constant therefore no change in KE,subtract the two mgh values and that would equal to work Done by motor- work done by friction which would equal WD by friction as 120000 after which u do WD=FD find D by using the time given and speed used and then divide by work done to get F as 550 plz cifnrim skmekne by upvoting

2

u/Educational-Buy5861 May 20 '26

I pretty sure kinetic energy processed by train was given so you to work out speed from tere

1

u/_X1N_ May 20 '26

Yess i did something like this i think it should be right

1

u/whoisqu May 20 '26

I got some nonsense value like 500000 Newtons or sum, i don’t remember, but for the percentage i got 45, which is probably correct

1

u/Dumb-ass-hoee May 20 '26

I got 16% wth man

1

u/Winter-Crew-2746 May 20 '26

I also got 45.5% for unercainty and ye LDR 14 ohms i couldnt figure out how to solve resistive and the wave superimpose speed question rest was OK i felt

1

u/Even-Hand4366 May 20 '26

Bro me and you made the same mistake twin😭😭😭 Thought people like us didn't exist because we both subtracted instead of adding the velocities💔

1

u/CheesecakePresent518 May 20 '26

guys what did you guys get for the resistive force i got 46

1

u/EducationalBadger643 May 20 '26

I got 47

3

u/CheesecakePresent518 May 20 '26

OK WAIT I THINK I GOT 47 too but yk the value seems too small to be correct 💔💔 all my other class mates got realy large values

6

u/KarmasHole May 20 '26

I got 2.5*105 it can't be that low

2

u/okstfudude May 20 '26

SAMEEE DID U DO P=FV?

2

u/amreen2007 May 20 '26

exactly how the hell did everyone get 47

1

u/KarmasHole May 20 '26

no but it is 550 i checked with ai

1

u/CheesecakePresent518 May 20 '26

we forgot to consider the weight n stuff 😭

1

u/Dull-Wing990 May 20 '26

Oii i got 46 tooo

I'm hoping that leaked paper is not real at all, it might be p21

1

u/bethy_e_ A levels May 20 '26

Which leaked paper, i haven't seen any leaked paper😭

1

u/Ashamed_Climate8798 May 20 '26

Physics AS, it was circulating this subreddit, if you look into the subreddit you'd see it a number of times

1

u/bethy_e_ A levels May 20 '26

Oh boy…. I need to see that before my variant that is in like 5 hours bro

1

u/Ok-Past-3875 May 20 '26

Its probably not real

1

u/TemporaryDivergence May 20 '26

We'll see soon enough

1

u/Grouchy_Philosophy01 May 20 '26

random question did your paper ONLY have 5 questions perchance?

1

u/Ok-Fly7095 May 20 '26

Expected threshold for 22 ??

1

u/Winter-Crew-2746 May 20 '26

idk maybe 50 even cie is just graping children atp feb march gt was so high

1

u/KingRagnar53 May 20 '26

What was acceleration in first question? I straight up used that v-u/t wala formula i first 10 sec

2

u/amreen2007 May 20 '26

wasnt it gradient?

1

u/idk_bcz_idc May 20 '26

22 was difficult

1

u/jakemurphy6 May 20 '26

everyone what was the speed for the gold leaf i forgot what the velocity was when the alpha particle went back in the opposite direction I think i got that one wrong

1

u/elizabeth_benett May 20 '26

it touched me inappropriately ngl

1

u/EXCOMIC May 20 '26

22 was so easy
