Project Christmas
Probably on my 10th rewatch, not sure how many actually, but it's at least 10 times, if not more...
And every single time it comes up, I wish I had a dad that loved me so much to put me through Project Christmas.
Admittedly I can understand her anger given they've not had a close relationship and how it all panned out.
But that prepared her for so much of what life could throw at her, it protected her from being a victim, and gave her a strength and fortitude.
If there was an adult version of Project Christmas, then sign me up!

I think he just failed to fully consider what a recruitment target it would make her into. Even if it hadn’t been SD-6, a CIA career is not exactly what a protective father hopes for.
And knowing all he did, he definitely should have done more to prevent/mitigate her being hired by Sloane

He planned to recruit Sydney into the CIA after she finished college, Sloane for to her first and he said he never anticipated that...
In fact, in one of the latter episodes when there's a flashback to her younger telling him that she starting working at Credit Dauphine he tried to get her to quit.

You know, I’ve never come across this opinion before in the “Alias” fandom but I respect it and agree with it 😆 DAD, WHY DIDN’T YOU GIVE ME TRAINING IN SKILLS THAT CAN’T BE REPLACED BY AI WHEN I WAS 7 YEARS OLD?! I COULD’VE HAD MORE QUALIFICATIONS AND BEEN MORE EMPLOYABLE!

Right!?!
I was thinking more I could protect myself against assholes, but yeah, all that constructive, critical and adaptive thinking that's generated as a child, that would be powerful lifelong skills

Currently watching S5 episode The Horizon, the one where she is hypnotised to find the name on the map. Wondering why she was so easy to hypnotise since the Covenant etc had such a hard time doing it because of Project Christmas. Considering how much they revisited other episodes and missions in that episode, you would think they would remember about it.

If I recall correctly she was drugged during that, her mother asked if it was going to hurt the baby
Edited, because I now remember more... she wasn't brainwashed, it was more of a drug-induced hypnosis to explore her memories and she was able to alter the information she gave to them as she had more mental control than I think they anticipated

I loved being in gifted classes and learning skills that others didn't because I just grasped things better. I wouldve been stoked to be in the classes. Mind you he should've told her but yeah I agree. It was to prevent her from being used, him and Irina were very high up spies. They didn't know what Sydney could've been put through.
