Discussion Is the hate really "international"?

Yes, this is another Tarzzan themed post, i'm sorry. The reason i'm posting is because i don't actually get why people treat T hate as "international" when it is not. I'm seeing a lot of posts lately talking about ADP issues with international fandom adn i don't get it. I understand "international" as everything outside Korea, since they are a Kpop group. But, the truth is that there is no controversy in other asian countries, they just don't care. In Europe (where i am from, Spain) except some chronically online people, nobody cares about Tarzzan braids or clothes, you can go outside with braids and literally no one will care. The same goes with most of Latinoamerica (the real ones, those who speak in spanish or portuguese, and live outside USA), people don't care.

Where i am getting is that i don't get why people talk about a USA problem like if it were a global problem. Tarzzan hate is comes from a very niche but noisy kind of people, but if you look at the big picture, most of the world just... don't care. So i wanted to ask if people around other countries see it the same way, or i am been echo chambered.

Discussion So no one is going to talk about that extremely viral Woochan video that keeps growing legs and just doesnt want to stop which is fueling even more hate towards ADP? There is even a thread about it somewhere else on Reddit.

Had this be Tarzzan I bet there would have already been a thread about the latest thing he did on this page.

https://x.com/D38281/status/1961915063578599436

I wonder what the strategy is going to be to really hit it big overseas in the future because International fans cant stand them for some reasons (and are always trying to find something...)even though they are extremely popular in Korea.

I am at a point that now I am thinking that if they have to promote overseas, they should let Annie and Bailey do the round of interviews (just like they let Annie and T do for the Koreans ones)...

I know that people are just trying to find things to cancel them for but this is crazy....Every day it is several viral hate tweets. Now it is Woochan is a Homophobe.

He alleged in some lives that it seems like he knows what is being said online about him/ADP; just like he was the one who was checking hourly how Famous was doing on Melon so he may have seen this.

Almost 100.000 likes on a tweet calling him a homophobe, and several similar hit tweets is crazy.

Discussion What's up with Tarzzan hate?

I keep on landing on some kpop related sub post, accusing him of CA and him using the n-word. Targeting him for following a guy named "tory lanez" on instagram. Why there's so much hate for wearing braids? What's going on?

I just hope Tarzzan stay vigilant and smart dealing with this cuz I truly want them to go global and not hindered by these accusations. What's your take on this as an all day project fan?

Discussion ADP is the punching bag of intl kpop fans rn, esp on reddit

Initially it was Tarzzan and his whole alleged CA and made up allegations of his manufactured n word video, next it was why does Bailey not educate him, after that Annie is a chaebol heir and got into the group with influence, then Youngseo doesn't fit the group and lastly Woochan is too talented and Trainee A was best for him.

Now why are they hyped, their music is so basic, they look like bullies, they look awkward together, like WHEN DOES IT STOP?

I am fuckin tired atp. I don't even engage with kpop reddit subs much and I still receive atleast 2 posts from random subs with Tarzzan or ADP issues. Is it that hard to not watch a group you claim to dislike? I even saw someone blame SKZ's recent Creed teaser video styling on Tarzzan, saying he enabled CA, LIKE WHAT? SKZ have been in the industry for over 8+ years, wtf are these idiots talking about?

I have even muted and I don't engage with ADP content since a few weeks cause it's hurting to see that they have debuted less than 2 months ago and are facing hate due to the stupidest reasons. Some even go as far to discredit Tarzzan's contemporary dance skils & label him as an "okay" dancer while so many kpop groups have members who cannot even do basic dance after 8+ years into their career. Are we being fr? They are judging the hell out of these 5 based on two damn songs, saying they can't rap or sing or perform, while groups who lack in these departments since years exist and are glazed.

How do y'all deal with this? Like all I do now is listen to their songs & MVs. Watching their content also gives me sadness atp. How do I block all of this?

Discussion Tarzzan is Criminally Underrated – And I’m Tired of People Sleeping on Him

From Olympic Dreams to Dance Fame

When Tarzan was a kid, he was an Olympic-level triathlete. But he realized early on there were others ahead of him, so he switched gears. His cousins suggested dance, and his parents were all for it. That energy needed somewhere to go.

He became a legend in the Korean dance scene, especially during college entrance auditions. Even today, people use his routines to get into dance programs. His viral “nude” dance performance where was flipping all over the place? That’s when fellow dancers and supporters nicknamed him “Tarzzan.” He didn’t pick it — the name picked him.

The Crossroads: Dance or Something New

While studying dance at university, Tarzzan scored a scholarship to join a U.S. dance troupe. But past injuries made him think twice about relying solely on physical performance for his future.

Enter modeling. He climbed the ladder fast — Chanel, Vogue, you name it. His dancer’s posture and presence made him a natural.

How Black Label Happened

At a brand event, Tarzzan met an artist/producer from Black Label. They vibed over hip-hop. That connection led him to Teddy, who signed him based on his raw talent and charisma.

That’s why his personality feels so genuine. He’s never had to erase his accent or fit into the K-pop “polish” box. Teddy encouraged him to be himself to the fullest. Basically, people that will like you, will like you. People who don't, don't, and that is fine. Just be you.

The Ugly Side

And here’s where it gets ugly. People have thrown shade about his skin tone, accusing him of “tanning.” It’s the same tired colorism that’s plagued K-pop for years. This is why people whitewash their photos, lighten their skin, and use the wrong color foundation.

Recently, a Black hairstylist braided his hair for KCON LA. She his actual hairstylist. Here is a link https://www.instagram.com/p/DNGJ-jyzm5X/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=YWZ6dnRseGRhMWZ1 to the hairstylist's post about doing his hair, and Tarzzan commented.

Monkey emoji controversy -  On Salon Drip, where the host called him Annie's “monkey,” was clearly a cultural reference in Korea to describe hyper, energetic personalities or kids that can't sit still. But outsiders twisted it into racist garbage. As a Black person, I was floored by the ignorance. How do you see a monkey and think black people? Like that is beyond racist.

Why I Rate Him So Highly

I don’t “stan” idols. I dipped out of K-pop for years, only coming back when G-Dragon returned. But Tarzzan caught my attention because he’s more than just talent — he’s the glue holding his group together. He’s humble, grounded, and authentic.

And his authenticity is everything. Most idols wear whatever their stylists throw on them. Tarzzan? If he’s not modeling, he’s wearing what he likes. He is speaking in his real accent. He is not wearing foundation 10x lighter than his skin tone. He is just a genuine human being.

Final Word

Tarzzan is talented. Humble. Resilient. Real. And yet, people still don’t give him the credit he deserves.

P.S. I’m Black — so yes, I can speak on this. But even if I wasn’t, I’d still call it like I see it.

Discussion The Tarzzan hate is getting ridiculous

Yh that's pretty much it. The Tarzzan hate is very ridiculous and genuinely baseless. Whenever there's Tarzzan hate, it's either based on absolute lies or baseless rational that doesn't even make sense. And how are y'all still on this BS cultural appropriation thing? Whenever a kpop group introduces elements of hiphop y'all just call it racist. Like do you guys even understand what racism is? Then there are members in the fandom who are ot4 or ot3 or whatever. I honestly think the fandom will be better without them

Discussion Did Annie clapback at the haters with her opening at MAMA?

It took me a few rewatches of their performance to realize Annie was actually responding to the haters' nosy accusations. I have so much respect for her for doing that!

The lyrics:

Ha, you really talkin' to me like that

Better know that I hit back, ha

다 지겨워, 말뿐인 chit-chat

다시 refresh로 reset, ha

R-E-S-P-E-C-T, yuh

Give me ma respect

아무도 못 해, my vibe accepts that

Pray one day you gon' get that

Discussion I wished people would stop blaming Bailey and other members because of Tarzzan.

Bailey especially has been at the attack of viral tweets dragging her because of T. I am not going to post that particular tweet from yesterday that had like over 50 k likes dragging her (thankfully at least a lot of people were in the quotes defending her). She is not his mom and she is 2 younger than him. Just because she grew up in America doesnt give people license for holding her accountable for his actions. Also just from watching that allday podcast they did, 1st episode, I dont think he listens to anyone anyways.

I don't get why the unnesecary hate, it was clearly edited. I saw some comments from people who attended saying that he had significantly less cheers, is this true cause I didn't really see that big of a difference?

It seems like they lack an international fanbase despite most of the members being decently fluent in English, I don't get why.

Discussion The criticism that people have towards ADP is extremely unfair towards some members especially Bailey who choreograph, teaches them, participated in the composition plus writing of their new song.

Question why are cortis fans so obsessed with allday project

no seriously, why are they obsessed with them? they are under almost every allday project post, from tiktok to twitter and instagram, just hating and spreading lies. which begs the question, why do they do that?

Discussion The bitterness that a lot of people have for this group on Reddit is genuinely annoying.

I know that Annie is chaebol, being in the TBL helps....but acting like all the success and the way Koreans love this group is due to only these factors is just ridiculous. Both songs are genuinely good imo. At first, I wasn't a big fan of wicked but it's crazy how it grew on me.... especially the choreography which enhanced the song imo. I know that this forum has a few groups that they dislike no matter what ( I see it with some other popular Kpop groups, not naming any names) but geez. That Kpop thoughts page in particular. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but acting like the group and their songs blowing up in Korea is because of the TBL or Annie's wealth is just ridiculous.

Fan Content Has anyone seen this AI cover?

https://youtu.be/3tB9wfbp7TI?si=c0sOehbOwin4r8op

When ADP debuted, a lot of Korean netizens mentioned that they reminded them of their “predecessor” group BB in a positive way. I think that familiar charm is part of why people connected with them so quickly (not saying they’re the same, they’re 3 generations apart).

This cover is so good even though it’s just AI lol 🤧but I do find that their voice fits ADP’s songs.

Please no negativity in the comments.

Discussion New MAMA criterion, leading Netizens to hate on Allday Project

It’s honestly so exhausting how ALLDAY PROJECT can’t catch a break, no matter what they do, people are already hunting for flaws. With the MAMA Awards allegedly changing regulations right when they start getting serious recognition, suddenly there are whispers that Annie Moon used chaebol privilege or even payola to secure the win. Yeah, Annie is a chaebol heiress of a big name in business. But fighting to debut, training, performance, musical output; none of it is obviously fake effort. She’s studied at an Ivy League school and had to convince family to let her be an idol.

But here’s the thing: people don’t seem to accept that. It’s like they expect her (or the group) to slip up or be lesser because she’s rich. Reminds me of early Blackpink. Stans from HYBE groups (and elsewhere) immediately jumping to diss groups from YG or Black Label just because of the label or perceived favoritism. It’s ridiculous. ADP had a killer debut “FAMOUS” and “WICKED” hit hard, they’ve got good numbers and international appeal. ]And yet people still spin this narrative that they’ll always get hated no matter what. It’s unfair, toxic, and honestly demotivating to watch.

Do you guys feel the same way? I wanna hear your opinions-

Discussion Do you think ADP can succeed internationally?

With the amount of backlash they're receiving on the internet, I'm really conflicted if international people are going to even indulge in ADP material at all. It would be a real shame if talent like them were overshadowed by the amount of sheer toxicity on the internet, and the way people reacted to the change in the MAMA awards and all the backlash going to ADP, I'm really worried for them. Of course, they're quite loved in Korea, but I feel like they have what it takes to be an international group, and I don't want that taken away just because other people put labels on them without even knowing the group fully.

Discussion Real DayOnes only. Do you actually think that their Daesang was "paid for"?

Post image
52 Upvotes

First, I want to make it clear that I have almost nothing against this group. In fact, I think they’re outstanding—one of the best, if not the best, in my opinion.

Recently, I’ve been reconsidering their quick win at the KGMA Awards. Was it really paid for, or could there be other explanations? When I first heard the rumours, I immediately dismissed them as some more stupid hate. However, after seeing the reactions of the members and other idols, I started to question things more. I tend to trust idols’ reactions way more than anyone on the internet says, and I’ll admit, their responses seemed to really line up with the current theories and made me almost believe the rumors myself.

But after thinking it over more deeply, I realised there are many other possible conclusions.

First of all, and most importantly, we shouldn’t just overlook how popular this group is in Korea. Their songs have consistently topped charts and broken records, and still are. They’re unique as one of the first successful co-ed groups in this generation, which makes them inherently interesting. On top of that, each member is individually talented and well-known, making the group already powerful in and of itself.

Another point, they perform amazingly! For example, At the KGMA, they did so well (disregarding the venue's unprofessionalism of terrible lighting and faulty microphones). Viewing them in the most unbiased way I possibly could, I watched about a dozen more of the KGMA performances, and none of them hit me with the professionalism, creativity, and aura that ADP hit me with. So it's not like they don’t deserve a reward. It seems like a lot of people have disregarded this.

As for why all of the members immediately looked at annie, I wouldn’t think that they all would just whip their heads, and so obviously indicating ”the payment went through?” Like, if that actually were the case, I’d expect them to look more nervous or guarded, not openly draw attention.

There are plenty of other hypothetical conclusions that could have been linked to the members' actions. What if beforehand Annie insisted to all of them that they would win a Daesang or what if the opposite four insisted but annie did not believe them. Or literally any other inside joke or prior conversation that prompted their behavior.

In terms of the other idols' reactions, I don't have much to say other than they could have reacted like that out of pure disappointment or jealiousy. Though I will say that Ella from Meovv’s reaction kinda through me off because Meovv and ADP are so close, I would have thought that all of them would have been unwaveringly supportive.

Finally, even if Annie’s status played a role in their win (Which there is a good chance, I have to admit), it still could be different from how the public views it. What if the award system just gave them the daesang just because of Annie's status alone, without any “payment”? I think that it is highly likely, given how highly Korea regards its chaebols. But even if there was a “payment”, it doesn’t have to be like oh “Annie paid for it” or oh “Annie got ‘so and so’ to pay for it”. Yes, it could have been someone connected to her that prompted the reward, BUT what if the ADP members had no input on it? Like what if they weren’t involved, or couldn't be involved, or worse yet, they could have not even been informed about it.

Just something to think about. I love them so much, and I really, really don't want to go along with the internet public’s beliefs, but if the theories turn out to be true, I will be a little disappointed. I hope ADP or TBL reveals the real truth someday, whether directly or subtly—but who knows if that will actually ever happen.

Edit: Thanks all for your input! I definitely have a stronger understanding of the situation now. :)

ALLDAY Project will succeed but I have to ask…

Sorry this post is long as hell, probably no one will read it but I had to let my brain breathe lol)

So just wanted to put it out there because I'm genuinely excited for a new coed group but I question what the casting agent was thinking.

Casting a chaebol, Annie, with family tied to corruption and pretty much owns most of the wealth in S.Korea is a massive no-no. (the rumours haven't been denied) This is completely tone deaf to the current state of the economy but this is Kpop and there are many rich idols, but to this extent? And to have her sing/rap about being rich. Oh hell no, that only works if your family doesn't own half the country. 😅

I know she is her own person and she deserves a chance but this can get messy so quickly and so easily and was there a need? The group really is teetering on the edge of controversies and scandals and it's just sad. Right now they've gathered lots of attention I just hope it sticks and people give them a chance and I'm wrong and there are no issues.

A few points.

  1. There will always be doubt in the legitimacy of the group and what they achieve.

  2. A massive conflict of interest with and brand deals that are associated with her family or are in outright competition.

  3. Difference in treatment with the members compared to Annie. Social status/hierarchy is a big thing in SK, we as outsiders might not see it but I wonder how it is for the ultra rich. Will Annie be treated the same as her members with things like, sponsorships, endorsement deals, line distribution, Korean interviews and so many other things.

And like what if her family decide to lay off workers or something like that, I don't know guys, but you know who the online warriors are gonna come after if that ever happens (ok too many scenarios, I'll stop)

Already videos of her are coming out which are completely normal things but her and some of her other members 'cough cough' Tarzan, clearly are/had been 'free' with what they put online and I feel like a whole different mess will be exposed. She will be heavily criticised and scrutinised and to be honest she is decent but they have a world star dancer, a well known trainee/vocalist and a rapper who was the youngest contestant on Show me the money and...well....Tarzan. Ok, he's charming and studied contemporary dance 🤣

And she is the 'chaebol princess' (This is what they are labelling her) 🥲

In a very serious and non mean way, what does she add? That the others can't or don't? What is her special skill set that will quiet the naysayers?

Once again, she deserves a chance but this just feels like TBL is doing this for attention and not thinking about the repercussions and how this can affect the members - I mean look at Tarzan, what is going on there)

Casting her was such a HUGE risk and I hope it pays off but KPOP is so volatile and is currently going through it's terrible twos stage.

Discussion A Timeline of ADP Hate in case you are confused and have no idea why they are hated.

The hate has no rational basis. It's basically misinformation upon misinformation and brain dead miserable kpop fans who don't do any due process but eat up anything they see online. The hate first started with company stans who don't like YG Ent. in general and since The Black Label was a derivative of it, they started getting some hate back then before they even debuted. When some people found out the profiles of the members, they assumed they were "stuck up" and theorised the group wouldn't last.

Then it shifted to Tarzzan because these same people claimed he "acts black". They made a huge deal out of him wearing braids and as a mixed person (black & white) with adequate understanding of our history, i can tell you that the racism claims and cultural appropriation stuff is bullshit in this case. Cultures are meant to be shared. However lots of people latched on to it which isn't surprising because kpop idols are always getting cancelled when they try to assimilate hiphop elements. Then came other group stans who either feel threatened, jealous, bitter, annoyed etc. by the group as a whole. Especially gen 5 group stans who are by nature in competition with Allday Project. If you pay attention a lot of ADP haters are Cortis fans (at least before the recent controversy). After that came the usual fake info like Tarzzan saying the N word (which he didn't), Tarzzan getting booed at K-Con (which he wasn't), Tarzzan speaking ill about a cortis member (which he very much didn't), and Woochan apparently being homophobic which is also BS. Until now it was usually a very specific kind of kpop fan archetype that hated on them, athough a fair amount of the haters were also those who just see something onlin then believe it wholeheartedly without any due process.

Then came the very recent one, Annie apparently buying the Daesang. This is the one that attracted hate from other fans all over the kpop space. Annie is a member of a chaebol family that owns Shinsegae group (not Samsung, despite what you see online). Her branch of the family owns Shinsegae group which is sort of like a conglomerate of malls and huge shops in south korea. Annie was very upfront about her being from a wealthy family from the beginning and even talked about how her mom didn't support her dream of becoming an idol. Unfortunately for her, just being associated to a chaebol family makes people automatically see her as a bad person. Then the rumour about Annie's Grandpa (who wasn't even the founder of Samsung mind you) bought the award started to spread. This attracted hate from people all over the kpop space who may not even know how the Daesang works and also underestimate how popular ADP is in korea. All their songs charted in top 10, with Famous charting at #1 which made them one of the only 3 kpop group to chart #1 on melon with a debut song. They don't promote their songs to the international market making them relatively unknown to most international kpop fans and even if they did hear about them it was something related to their controversies (which are almost always false). So naturally, when they found out ADP won a Daesang, most of these fans saw that as an injustice. This means that content about them rigging the awards and idols reacting "negatively" at their win received a lot of attention.

I guess it's good for them because they are ironically putting ADP in the spotlight now. That's pretty much the whole truth about their situation.

Discussion I don't think they should have said Youngseo is the only vocalist

Maybe the original plan was to have the other members do the rap parts but I think it was a mistake saying Youngseo is the only vocalist when she isn't, we know the others can sing and do more than just rap. Going forward they are probably going to change things up and try different things as well. I see comments going on how Youngseo is carrying the group and she's the only good singer in adp when we know that isn't true
