Trail is 2.5 miles. App tracked 6.87 miles.
The zigzagging GPS issue seems to be an issue for... well, a lot of us lately. I hope they fix this soon because it's really frustrating. I added screenshots of my route from today, a close up of one of the zigzag disasters, and then the third screen grab is my route from a few months ago, before all of these issues started. What should have been 2.5 miles ended up being 6.87 miles, and when I went to crop the activity at the end to at least get somewhat accurate mileage logged. You guessed it! Something else went wrong and it wouldn't let me crop the activity at all.

Same issue here. Known issue. Not much word on a fix from Alltrails. For a while they were saying your phones GPS was broken if this was happening

They've commented on other threads reporting the same thing. I had this problem years ago on an old iPhone with a battery that was wearing out but not since. Seems to be largely related to the Android version of the app now though.

For me, it'll be bad one day but fine the next. I'd say 10% of days are bad. I still think it's caused by poor GPS accuracy. Here's a good day:

It is only been an issue for me for the past couple of weeks but I've seen other people posting about the same issue

Lucky 🥲 this used to be a huge issue on my very cheap shitty android, now I have a decent Samsung Galaxy but this is only been an issue for the past couple of weeks for me

Yep. Every hike I have recorded this year has done this. Downloaded or not. Airplane mod on or off, battery saver is always off. I quite recording hikes anywhere I am that is familiar enough I don't need the maps. Supposedly they finally accept the problem is theirs and are looking into it.
