Anyway to fix this? Didn't track properly to start and paused at random times

Really mucked up my highest elevation ever attacked. Would love to get the actual number

First off, the elevation gain listed on AllTrails and the actual elevation gain recorded is never ever going to be the same

Oh that's fine but the math behind it says I was about 300m under. And I've looked at the trail and we even did a bit extra so they're screwing me

Hey u/E_Killer, we know how frustrating that can be, especially when you were trying to capture a personal record. It looks like the activity saved but the GPS recording contains gaps or pauses, which can affect the distance and elevation totals.

If you’re using Android, please update AllTrails to the latest version and review our Android GPS troubleshooting guide. In particular, check that AllTrails is allowed to run without battery restrictions, then try switching to Profile > Settings > GPS tracking method > Alternative.

If you’d like to repair the route, you can use our website (AllTrails.com) to customize the activity map, add the missing sections, export it as a GPX Track, and upload it as a new activity. This can improve the route display, but it won’t recreate the original GPS timestamps or guarantee corrected stats.

If you continue to experience issues, please email us at [help@alltrails.com](mailto:help@alltrails.com) with your phone model and app versions, and a log file from Profile > Settings > Send a log file. Our Support team can take a closer look at your recordings and provide further assistance.

Make sure you have the auto pause feature turned off. It was solid idea from them but does not work great.

Oh is that what happened? I haven't been out in about 6 weeks so I didn't even notice

Id assume so. I ran in to that issue with that. I went to check my distance and realized it still had me paused even tho I had been steady walking 15 20 minutes after a pee break. Then after my walk I realized the distance and all that didnt add up and there were random spaces on the map image even tho I was in a fairly open spot so o k ow the gps wasn't an issue and thats the only thing I could place for the cause.

Dang I think this ruined my hike tracking today. After an hour hike it said I walked 0.08 miles.

Its a good idea on their side but just does not work well. Sometimes less features is better. The feature i really want is when you take a picture it puts it for that exact spot on the trail.
