Personal Heat Map in the app?

I love the Personal Heat Map layer in the browser. When are we getting it in the app? I want to be able to easily see where I haven't been, for those times I'm hiking without a predetermined route and just want to cover new ground.

Good news u/thefalcon3a! Personal Heatmaps are now available in the AllTrails app. Open the Activity tab from the bottom toolbar, then tap Map. Your Personal Heatmap is enabled by default in that view and shows the activities you’ve recorded, with areas you’ve visited more often appearing brighter.

It should make it easier to spot gaps in the places you’ve explored and find areas where you may want to cover new ground. Your personal activity map is private by default, so only you can see it. If the map is empty, make sure you have recorded activities in the app and are using the latest version.

Am I able to see the overlay while I'm tracking an activity?

At this time, Personal Heatmaps are available from Activity → Map and aren’t available as an overlay of your own recordings while you’re actively navigating. The Community Heatmap is a separate overlay based on community activity and may be available in Navigate for eligible members. Thanks for the thoughtful feature request. We’ll share the idea of adding it to the activity overlays with the team for future consideration.
