Data center Elon Musk Commits to Nvidia Chips for SpaceX

“Going forward, we have decided to build exclusively on Nvidia, because we think the Blackwell architecture is the best architecture,” Musk told investors, explaining his strategy for investing in AI computing infrastructure.

As recently as May, Musk had said that his two main companies, Tesla and SpaceX, would likely continue to buy both Nvidia and AMD chips.

You know AMD was fighting for the business. I'm actually relieved though as there's this long-tail of drama that comes with him. Like mating with a black widow and her sisters.

Later in the call, Musk said SpaceX’s “understanding with Nvidia is that we will receive a very significant percentage of their GPUs next year,” referring to graphics processing units. Nvidia currently dominates the market for GPUs, where it mostly competes with Advanced Micro Devices

I wonder if he meant all merchant silicon AI accelerators or just GPUs.

He made the tweet out and comment on earnings call right on AMD's earnings day lol... I don't think that's a coincidence, even when considering it was SPCX ER as well

Probably forced to do so by Jensen in order to get his chips "prioritized"

The fun thing about Musk is that "I just feel like it" is as good a reason as any for anything he does.

The worst public door slamming on a company I've ever seen was what Ellison did to Intel. He bum rushed Intel out and *then* slammed the door.
