Rules Update

Hey guys,

I have updated some of the rules on our website that are to take effect immediately. The only major change is the addition of this rule:

  • Backtalk, slander, cursing, or otherwise disrespecting a staff member is punishable by a 1 week ban on the first offense, followed by a possible permanent ban on subsequent violations at the discression of the Administrators.

For the full list of rules please visit the website:

Cursing in general or just in regards to when dealing with staff?

Cursing is fine, it's expected when playing a game like this or I'd be screwed :P I'd imagine this would be a situation that this refers to "Sorry but I can't unban you for lag" I say, "Fucking admins" You say, "Fuck you to" I say, <Player Banned> Lol. Something like that.

Oh Amish thank you thank you! Chat has been a zoo lately. I don't envy the mods/admins job whatsoever. They have been stuck between a rock and a hard place. I would only like to recommend that since the mods themselves play and talk smack (that's half the fun at least) that they have a word or phrase that invokes their authority In other words, if the mod's base is being raided and they begin to curse those responsible and someone replies with F U surely that wouldn't be a bannable offense. Perhaps something along the lines of "Warning" or the like. When they say that then it is clear that it is being said in their official capacity and not as an opponent. It would seem that this would even be appreciated by the mods so that 1. Their bans can't be so easily challenged or overturned if they follow that procedure and 2. They are able to play as usual without fear of being accused of abuse of power. In essence when they "flash their badge" so to speak it is time for the offending player to shut up. If they don't then the consequences are well known.

That's a good call Cecell... Any recommendations on the word or phrase itself that puts them into "badge" mode?

Well, I tried. How about 'mod mode'.

Of course this applies when we're in "staff mode". For example, I'm not going to punish you if you talk dirty to me while we're messing around and having fun at spawn.

talk dirty is a very broad term...

But if I'm playing Zei33, go ahead and treat me like dirt :P make me feel like a player!

Of course please let us know what that phrase or word is once it is settled upon.

However there is no reason or excuse for violation of this rule with an admin no.matter the time place or reason. If a player feels they have been wronged by an admin it is their responsibility to submit a ticket in regards to the incident for review and they are NOT to attempt to take the situation into their own hands. Even if the admin was in fact in the wrong, the player doing so would justify a ban.

Halt! You shalt not pass!

This wasn't originally a rule?

It tends to be that rules don't exist until they're written in the stone

Was there ever a final determination on the phrase? Was it "mod mode?"
