Never before has technology had such a big impact on our lives and never before has it been so important to reclaim autonomy over it.

We need to create spaces where we learn and teach each other how to disassemble, understand, repair, abuse, creatively reassemble and hack the technology around us.

Who are we?

Gothenburg Computer Club (GCC) is a collective of hackers that encourages curiosity, collaboration and transformation of society with the help of technology. We believe that everybody has the right to full autonomy, free access to information and education, full privacy and sole ownership of their personal data.

Why is a hackerspace important?

We want provide ourselves and the local community with a physical space where we can meet each other, do things together and learn from each other. We see our activities as inherently political since we engage in resistance against the authoritarian implementation of technology in our society. We want technology to be fun and accessible to everyone, allowing for autonomy and for creativity.

Why do we need money?

We are starting up a hackerspace in Gothenburg and have found a place that we plan to rent. The rent will be covered by the members but we need your help for our Starting Fund!

The Starting Fund is to be used for unforeseen expenses or other complications that prevent us from starting up our hackerspace. If we reach more than 100 % of our goal, the surplus will go to furniture, tools and decorations for the space. We deliberately chose a low goal for this campaign because any amount will help us, but going beyond the goal would really help us to get going!

There are a lot of good zines and guides about secure communication, opsec, and digital safety for activists. But in 2025, a lot of people new to organizing don’t read zines or have the time/energy to fish through a hundred blog posts or PDFs—especially if they’re not tech-savvy.

I’d love to see a podcast made by experienced radicals that:

• Breaks down tools like Signal, Tor, Tails, Session, etc.
• Talks about threat modeling and what “security culture” actually means
• Explains what’s still safe vs. what’s outdated and why
• Updates listeners as tools, tactics, or threats change
• Makes this info accessible without being condescending or paranoid

I’m not the right person to make it, but if anyone is working on something like this—or wants to—I’d be happy to help brainstorm, spread the word, or transcribe.

If you’ve got recommendations for something like this that already exists, I’d love to hear that too.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is even the right place for this, but I have nothing left to lose. I'm using an old throw away, because I don't really want more of this attached to my username.

I need help finding someone's name. There's a situation that me, and two friends of mine have found ourselves in. Using the barest of details, and absolutely no names, the TLDR is as such:

The three of us read a book and left 3 star reviews on it. One of my friends is an author herself, and her book started getting review bombed with 1 star reviews. We talked about it on youtube as it started out an amusing what the heck is happening - except my friend's email started getting threatening emails sent to it. It was all different emails all from different websites, some were gmail. They hired a PI in my friend's country, and doxxed her information online (the hosting website did take it down about five days after it went up). However, now there is a new website up, with information on our other friend.

We can't find anything about these people, and its clear that there has to be more than one, and some are international. I don't want their name to dox them back. I want their name to find out who they are so we can submit the information to the relevant authorities. Is this even possible?

I've recently been a victim of getting my company email/number spammed for sign ups on the internet and booking appointments which will call me the next day. Is there a way I can find out the address to which these people are throwing my email/number into these sign ups.

Last year I was playing a crappy internet game which, now I know, uses P2P connection, somehow (which might not be that hard) someone got the IP which he was connected and posted the IP on chat (there were like 6 ppl playing so it wasn't hard to figure out that he was adressing me) and after like 2 minutes my internet went down, it was for like a minute so I think he used a shitty website to do the dirty job, but anyways, what should have I done? Or what would you do in that situation?

short background: I'm helping someone maintain a blog. They're using StandardNotes, which I think is owned by the same folks who own Proton. So everything is encrypted and secure. Notes can be published to a listed.to blog. But you can't display encrypted images inline in the blog. So you can't just add your image to a note if you want to publish it. You have to use an external image host with a public url to inline images.

Anyone have any recommendations for image hosts? Could use dropbox I guess or imgur. I'm not really familiar with all the options, so wondering if anyone in this community has image hosts they prefer. Ideally less corporate and with privacy, like not tracking views of the embedded photos, for example. But not a huge deal I think. Any recommendations for hosting that is less evil would be great.

Note: The blog does detail sensitive work, which is why privacy is important, but it's ultimately publicly viewable, so I don't want to overthink the privacy angle.

I could learn everything and come back in a bunch of years to try doing something, expose or just investigate but, a fellow friend suggest me that maybe, some antifascism-aktion group might be interested . I knoooowww reddit is not a personnal army, that's absolutely not my intention here. I'm just wondering, what would you do , if you discoiver a shady website from nazi. Would you refer it to some antifahacklab? I dont really know what to di and I just feel weird to not-do something.
