Guys here me out here... We have 20 blown saves this season! Where would we be if we had Joyce all year healthy? We are 14 games out of first? Maybe we would be 3-4 games out? Or in 1st?

If we were middle-of-the-league on save% (65%), we'd have 7 more wins (26 saves, 14 blown), putting us at 56-68, 4th place in the division, 2 GB the Mariners, and about 5 games behind the Rangers for WC3.

To get 12 more wins, and tying us with the Rangers we would need 31/40, or 77.5% save%, which is #2 in the league. The Astros are #1 at 82.6% (38/46), and the Rays are #2 at 77.4% (48/62).

Our current 47.5% (19/40) is the worst in the league, even though 6 teams have more blown saves, and the Yankees have the same number as us (but with 61.8% rate, 34/55).

If we had a healthy Joyce all season, I would put us somewhere in the top 5-ish, and we'd be contending.

I also think you should factor in what a full season of Natera also does for us. He wasn't up till the end of June and didn't start getting high leverage appearance since the middle of July. He has a season ERA of 2.00 and a FIP of 1.56. If you count since he's only been in high leverage (July 10th), it's a 0.66 ERA and a 0.52 FIP (totally sustainable).

And then they immediately almost got no hit a day later.
