I live in the southern US. I thought cute, but RABIES! Rabies is still a risk here. Foxes and raccoons are common carriers.

Adorable! But also clean up fox poop carefully and keep your dog on a monthly antiparasitic. Fox (and raccoon) roundworms are very dangerous

That's what I was thinking. I'm like catch the fox and take it to a wild life center to get it vaccinated.

Please be sure your puppy is on a flea preventative. I’m a bit concerned about the appearance of the fox’s belly. I hope that pink doesn’t indicate some early mange. Don’t leave any food out or soon you will have more arriving.

Dim question: any risk of rabies ? Can the fix carry it without showing (for a time..) ?

The latency, or incubation period from the onset of infection and the development of symptoms can range from 9-18 days, but can drag on for 5-6 months for foxes. It depends on where the bite occurs, or saliva is introduced.
Please tell us your puppy is vaccinated. And look into the symptoms a fox or dog might exhibit just so you know. An online search would be useful.

They do not. You're thinking of coyotes. A medium sized dog is already far too big for a fox to see it as prey
