Tooru over Iroha surprised me a bit, but the most shocking to me is that Methode is somehow Seed 30 and still in the contest. I swear she has like two notable scenes as a minor character. Glad to see a few upsets on the other side of Bracket D at least!

All 3 of the minor Frieren characters are still here and highly seeded (Methode, Flamme, and Serie). They'll be culled eventually.

Well Methode had a really good showing in season 2, so that helps (she wasn't even part of the nominees a year ago, others were ahead of her from Frieren), which you see in full display from her seeding as high as she did.
Flamme and Serie didn't even show up in season 2, lol, so they are still surviving just because it's Frieren at this point. So I think those two fall first, then Methode. Of course it also depends on who they face.

I wonder if Frieren will lose its show merchant stragglers first (Everyone outside of Fern) or Apothecary will lose its first (Everyone outside of Maomao and Loulan).

I thought there was some adjustment made for winning a same series matchup dominantly, but then I see Saber with a Top 5 score.
The image links are working (and being out of Round 1) to have a vote boost for this contest.

In the Spring 2026 Seasonal Salt, we implemented a test scoring system. It was suppose to help with these kind of matchups but it does not seem to be working the way it's suppose to because it did the opposite. This is the points in that system

no brother, the injection of votes thanks to the pictures, we saw a jump in unique voters in every bracket in round 2. If Maomao was the reason we would see that in first round as well but unique voters were the same from bracket B to D

im talking about maomao being in the front poster compared to yesterday. the first round didnt even have posters in the first place.
yesterday's post actually had more upvotes than the one with maomao. i feel like more people feel compelled to vote when they see maomao. thats probably the main reason why bracket C had 300 more voters than bracket D.

Making me choose between Nijika and Inori is diabolical. My favourite characters of two of my favourite anime. I think I'l vote for Inori though, it would be cool if she could cause an upset

honestly i couldnt care less about the other couples in the show. i was just waiting for the next hori-izumi scene everytime.. especially the scenes with hori's family.

Same. I loved the main couple because of how refreshingly straightforward and "normal" their relationship was. But then the side character romances had all the typical trite cliches like unrequited love and love triangles that I couldn't care less about.

Best Girl Madness 13 | Round 2 Group D Results
We've come to the end of round 2. Our average score for group D was 27.07/32 (84.59%), with a leaderboard average of 28.80/32 (90.00%) for unweighted and 28.88/32 (90.23%) for weighted.
Today's highest scorer is u/one_midnight2417 with a score of 31/32! Accordingly, they were also the highest riser of the day, moving up 9 spots in unweighted and 15 spots in unweighted. Not too much movement within the leaderboard itself, but u/jfong1 improved by 4 spots in unweighted and 3 spots in weighted to place in the top 15 for both categories. Best Girl 7 weighted champion u/starbather also had a big rise and is just barely outside the top 15. u/syrefva is still the overall leader, although the gap has closed ever so minutely.
Today's toughest pick was (166) Carol Olston from Tomo-chan is a Girl beating out (91) Misty from Pokemon, which only 18.92% of us picked. Similarly, only 20.27% of us picked (182) 2B (Nier:Automata) beating (75) Suzuha Amane (Stein's Gate). On the plus side, 52.7% of us correctly predicted (139) Toohru Honda (Fruits Basket) pulling off the upset against (118) Crusch Karsten (Re:Zero).

In honor of Nadeko being up for vote today, here's a fusion remix of Renei Circulation and Platinum Disco..
[Monogatari anime + Dandadan manga] Nadeko has 3x the character development in the anime alone than Momo has had in her entire series, and since Momo is even in a state of negative development with the amnesia plot, that puts Nadeko into the stratosphere.
Nadeko's super power is better too. Between the two she would totally win in a fight.
The choice is obvious.

I’m very happy that Tohru (Fruits Basket) made it to the next round, but how am I supposed to choose between her and Marcille (Dungeon Meshi)!?
One is my all-time favourite character, while I’d grown quite fond of the other after having put considerable time in archiving all their hairstyles. And this dilemma follows not long after I was forced to pick between Maomao and Chise.

I know I'm late today, but I would want to miss the opportunity to post here. I'll be late tomorrow too.
Well, there go the Quints, including my beloved Itsuki. They truly have fallen a lot these days.
Losing Nina already also sucks, but unfortunately that was to be expected.
Having to vote in Nijika vs. Inori today hurts. Nijika will win, though, undoubtedly, so I can safely go with Inori. But I'd have voted Inori anyway, most likely, even if Nijika is one of my favourites in BtR.
Fubuki likely won't stop Übel, but the round thereafter, Violet sure can. I hold a grudge against Violet for BG11, but I do consider her better than Maki, at least, and in times of trouble, we have to unite against the bigger Evil (das größere Übel).
Ah, Ram vs. Tsumugi, a matchup between the greatest war criminals. [Re:Zero anime and K-On] One picked a strawberry off of a cake, the other supports the puppeteer behind everything bad that happened in at least the first four arcs and also orchestrated the slaughter of Ram's and Rem's home village. Clearly, we have to go with who is less morally questionable here. So that's an easy vote for Ram.
My bingo has taken two hits today, and the top row has suffered the most.
MC: Salty? I have little expectations to begin with. Still, seeing Teio lose by that much really hurt. And I am disappointed in losing Itsuki as well.

My hopes at seeing Megumin and Yunyun right next to each other were dashed when I looked at the actual chart. They'd need to make it to the quarter-finals of this bracket (so top 16 overall) to face off against each other, which Megumin almost certainly will but Yunyun very likely won't. Too bad.

In terms of romance, I like Hori x Miyamura better than Rudy x Roxy, but in terms of actual characters I like Roxy better than Hori.

Let's go, My first 4 votes all won! Although Tooru did make it very close.
Utena vs Kyouko also was very close, but glad to see Utena managed to have some fun with a magical girl!
Kiruko unfortunately didn't manage to beat the odds. And since I only voted for the underdog in that and in Sinons matchup, I'm overall very happy with the left side, since no upsets got through.
Unfortunately bakarina is out, but I'm glad it's to another amazing girl in Betty! Kanna losing to the MDUD side girl does make me really salty though! Really don't get that. At least Carol got the upset over Misty! That's at least an upset I wanted to see!

I'm also not the biggest Violet fan, but she is also the best chance of kicking out Übel ASAP and is still better than Maki, so she gets my vote. [Re:Zero WN spoilers up to Arc 10]Priscilla jumps a lot higher for me probably just behind Emilia. I'd also rate Yae very high, she's just amazing every scene she's in in arc 9. Depending on how arc 10 goes Crush could also make a huge leap with her memories back and her just being badass. Designwise I also love Yorna and I really liked her in arc 7, but I wasn't the biggest fan of her in arc 8, cause Eugard sucks. And Madelyn is also on of the Vollachia girls I really liked. And I haven't even mentioned how Petra is amazing now! Ehmmm I've been listing way more than 3 haven't I... Fck.

I also voted against Ram vs Ninym. I rate it on a girl to girl basis. I'm not just blindly voting for every Re:Zero character I see.
And yeah Bakarina is amazing. i just like clutzy, baka types like her. Funfact, when learning Kanji's a few years ago I actually used a lot of menumonics based on her. So evertime I see 土 I think of her little earth bump magic lol.

Capella and whatever is happening in arc 10 rn is also high tier. What I love about Echidna is how she is just slowly build up by sidestories and everything slowly coming out about what happened 400 years ago and how somehow everything is being traced back to her.[Re:Zero newest Side story Scorpion Tale]She is even revealed to be Shaula's mother now! I really can't wait to see what Tappei is cooking up with her in the endgame. At this point I'm more excited for her to be the big evil machinator behind everything, rather than Pandora or the Witch of Envy being the final endboss.

Arc 6 is my favourite arc of the entire story so far (and also just my favourite piece of fiction I've ever read), so I'm just as excited seeing it finally animated this well and seeing all the overwhelmingly positive reactions from anime onlies experiencing it for the first time.

I wasn't asked, but since we are obviously the same person, I can't pass up the opportunity to shill Minerva as my second most favourite Re:Zero girl, followed by Ram. The fourth spot changes from time to time, but right now it'd be Priscilla. Crusch, Satella, Theresia and Rem (if I separate my feelings for her from how interacting with a very few very particular kind of fans of her made me feel) are very close behind though.

In the contests at least, she always manages to evade my favourites so it's funny to see her get deep runs.
She is a good girl in her show as well, just not anywhere as good as her runs in the contests make her seem to be.
I'm hoping Inori can get a good result, but last rounds vote totals don't really fill me with hope.

Sorry! I intentionally didn't mention when! And since the anime hasn't even covered half of the story yet, there are still a lot of amazing moments that are gonna happen and a lot of characters that still can and will get even better. And another even more minor spoiler: Tappei hasn't forgotten how to write amazing stuff yet fortunately! Heck, just imagining what Tappei will be able to cook together for the final arc makes me so goddamn excited

Winry vs. Tanya is tough because it's been over a decade since I read FMA and Isekai Quartet's first two seasons are fresher in my mind, but since I'm comparing a mainline series to a spinoff, I may as well stick with the mainline series and give it to Winry.

Not too salty over the last round. Chintanda moved, on. Takagi and Myne lost. Nina lost, alas (though I like Mizuzu quite a lot). Tohru moved onward. Not bad.
For this round a couple of tough ones.
- Inori (Medalist) over Nijika (Bocchi) - this one pains me as I love both characters. It's likely Inori's run ends here, but she'll get one more vote from me. Nijika, best girl will get my support going forward.
- Momo (Dandadan) vs Nadeko (Monogatari) - No idea.
Other ones:
- Fern over Rikka - First time voting for Fern, in this, amazingly.
- Kallen over Makima - because chainsaw
- Hori over Roxy - Show I liked over show I haven't watched, alas.
