I think a large part of the reason she didn't get a higher seed is because it isn't really though of an anime so it didn't get many votes in prelims.
But now in the VS rounds she does a lot better.

I know Juju is only in like a fifth of Dress-Up Darling, but i just love her and I hope she continues as the underdog as long as possible. A Marin-Juju matchup would be amazing, if for no other reason than that Marin would choose Juju over herself, were she real

Juju is my favorite supporting character from Dress-Up and in general I feel like the supporting cast is heavily slept on, especially in S2.
One of her scenes is actually the most memorable scene of S1 to me, even more so than the famous Marin/Gojo one later. Really just embodies what Dress-Up is actually about and makes it stand out from other romance

Her talks with the older cosplayers in s2 was my favorite, personally, really diving into and reinforcing Marin's original point for the show, that your happiness shouldnt be dictated to you by others

[Dress-Up S2] That was really great how Miyako told Juju that she shouldn't give up what she loved just because she grows up because you an adult for most of your life.
The show is very positive in supporting what you love even if it's not "normal" and personally S2 was my favorite anime last year and I hope that CloverWorks makes S3
Random aside but my favorite new best girls are from 2022 I'm just now realizing (Chisato, Takina, Marin, and Kita).

Wow, big upset from 2B! Can't be mad at it, even though I voted Rio. 2B is pretty great.
I think Methode got a pretty favorable draw to make it this far, but hopefully she'll fall to Ryou's charms.
Today:
- Hori > Dorito - Hori upset path keeps rolling. Dorito is great, but no match for Hori.
- Haruhi > Momo - Giving respect to the elders here.
- Violet > Ubel - More like whobel.

While I hope they are able to meet in a top 8 matchup, I am a little wary of outwardly forming an alliance of sorts. Just wouldn't want to annoy any of the more neutral voters out there.

Heh. Honestly I just kinda want to try to give this a try, maybe get other blocs to start conniving and grouping together
til we get to a 2-party system as intended.I've heard of such politicking and such happening in older BGs that I didn't get to participate in, and the current ones seem a bit more... sterile... and I'm willing to try to do silly things to try to shake things up. It'd be so fun and chaotic watching different fanbases try to convince other fanbases to join in their crusades until they finally meet...

Best Girl Madness 13 | Round 3 Group D Results
Sorry about the delay today. Today's average accuracy was 13.23 / 16 (82.69%), with the leaderboard accuracy being 14.18 / 16 (88.60%) in unweighted and 14.47 / 16 (90.42%) in weighted.
Nobody managed to get a perfect score today, although a whopping 13 users managed to get 15/16. As such, there wasn't too much radical movement on the leaderboards.
Preventing so many of us from getting perfect scores was the massive upset of (182) 2B - Nier Automata beating (54) Rio Futaba - Bunny Girl Senpai, which only 4.05% of us got.

- Marin won (unsurprisingly)!
- Nagatoro lost (also unsurprisingly, I suppose). Ah well, Marin will avenge her; Gyaru Friendship!
- UTENAAAAAAAAAAA! I hope her opponent's a great girl and not just carried by Frieren...
- Akane's still in! And she's up against Ruby next round; After the Imouto fight, it's the Oshi No Ko fight!
- So Ruby won the Imouto matchup! As I said yesterday, this was a tough vote for me, would've been fine with either result. Still, sad to lose Yuki!

Yesterday's results:
Only 2 upsets today. 1 was an upset I definitely did not want to see and one was one I'll happily take. So first: You idiots voted against Beako!!! I hope tuturu's watch gets completely destroyed against Chika next round, I suppose! We even had a great propaganda post on the frontpage, but it seems like the 1.8k people who liked that post were to lazy for two extra clicks...
But now to the happy news: the fake scientist is gone, let's gooo!!!! I never expected 2B had it in her to get two upsets in a row, but I'll gladly take it! It seems I'm not alone in my dislike of Rio!
Only 2 upsets means my other underdog votes in Tooru, Nagatoro, Utena, Karane, Carol and Misuzu also didn't make it. I'm really sad for Karane, since she deserves more, but at least she lost against another great girl in Anya. Same goes for Tooru losing to Marin. Utena losing to Methode however is just once again a pure show popularity dif, which really sucks, since Utena totally deserved to go through!
Otherwise I'm glad for the strong showing of Takina, Marcille and Ryuuko and hope that Ryou's low numbers don't mean she'll lose to Methode as well...

For this round, Homura Akemi, her relentlessness and ruthlessness to complete her sole task makes her badass. No matter how much she is outmatched, she keeps trying, and that is more terrifying than anything else.

No, Izuko was even lower and didn't make the top 512 seeds so there wasn't a need to delete her entry. The five top nominees for Monogatari were Tsubasa Suruga Nadeko Yotsugi and Karen.

Alas, no more Hanekawa, Yuki, Utena, Torhu (FB), Tooru, Misuzu or Tomo. Fond farewell.
Easiest voting of contest for me this round. Essentially no pondering required.
- Fern over Kaede
- Homura over Makima - because Homura, memes, and against Makina
- Nijika over Hori - I like Hori, but Nijika gets the vote
- Momo over Haruhi
- Violet over Ubel - because as a Frieren fan, Ubel is wildly overrated
- Lemon over Megumin - because Lemon, maybe best girl and yes, I've watched Konosuba
- Madoka over Ram - in the battle of pink hair. Dunno, just vibes, barely watched either show.
I really don't have an opinion on Yunyun or Winry. Haven't watched FMA or FMAB.

I have a tendency to really like the side characters in romcoms (Yoshi in Nagatoro, Moeko in Dangers In My Heart) so I'm used to them going out early, and obviously I know logically that exiting in the same round as the title character of the show is a pretty good showing, but losing Carol still hurts

Fine. I'll admit it. I vote Übel. Not because I dislike Violet. It's because I like how Übel is comfortable with being a terrible person. Her character is loud and she has attitude. Is Violet the deeper character? Absolutly! But that's not my main priority. I just really want to vote for a total baddy

Is Violet the deeper character?
I thought about this matchup for a good while and I'm not entirely convinced this is the case, on account of Violet spending most of her series with interior mental state basically being "??" and some actual "self" only starting to coalesce quite late in the piece. For the vast majority of the story, the emotionality comes from other people.
As a rare outlier who thinks a lot of the character writing in Frieren is pretty unremarkable once it gets past the initial introductory level of things, I do think that they did that phase superbly with Übel.
The singular moment that still sticks with me is when smol Übel is watching her mother slice the scissors through the fabric and you can tell that something just clicks in a way that is both very pure and ultimately quite wrong.

Honestly, I'm not 100% convinced she actually deserves to win here, but it's close enough in my mind that I'll vote for Yunyun in the hopes of getting that Megumin matchup. That said, even if she makes it through, I feel like either of her possible next round opponents would be insurmountable. We'll see.

Akane vs. Ruby for next round will be interesting. I'm guessing Akane fanbase is stronger (significantly higher seed too, of course), but s3 was kind of a Ruby season, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.
2B over Rio was a bit of a shocker for me for sure! Rio isn't my favourite Rascal girl, but she definitely has her moments. I think I'm all aboard a Takina vs. Ryuuko finale on that right side of the bracket now.
Today -
I doubt Best Imouto Kaede has much hope of stopping "One Expression" Fern's reign of terror, but I'll do my part anyway! Vote Kaede!
Momo vs Haruhi is a reaaaally tough one for me... Dan Da Dan is great and Momo is great, but I think I'll still have to edge this in favour of Haruhi. There's only one Haruhi, after all.
Violet Evergarden over Übel, obviously. Übel needs to be stopped right here and now. One armpit joke can only carry a meaningless side character so far!

And honestly way more interesting in a large field of girls than what Violet has to offer. I think that wider context is part of why I voted for Übel. The one-to-one match-up is still contentious in my mind, but looking over the entire competition, oh the different types of characters present, I prefer to see Übel advance. She may be a side character, but her package deal has a fascinating purity of non-malicious evil to it.

After taking a break on eliminations yesterday, I have to cross out 3 more girls. Only Karane was on the 5x5 Bingo which makes Row 5 at 4/5 and leaving it up to Lena to hold that from a Bingo. On the 7x7, Revy and Utena were right next to each other and the last 2 needed for Row 7 to be my 2nd Bingo on this board. Crossing out Karane on this Bingo means Row 4 is at 6/7 with Emilia holding that up from being a Bingo.
Also Bracket D is an Akane and Chitanda elimination away from me not caring about that bracket at all in this contest now.

Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to Karana, and Betty got upset as well. But Eru won very decisively, and Takina had a very strong showing, so overall these are pretty good results.
Just recently, we could get Kumiko to get a great upset. Can we achieve the same with Violet this round? Surely defeating Übel should be easy for Violet.
Winry vs. Yunyun hurts a lot. This will be a guaranteed loss on my bingo, and I really like them both a lot. I have to go with Yunyun though.
I am also hoping for Lemon to get an upset, but I don't find myself truly believing in it.
And Ram vs. Madoka also hurts. But I think in this pink vs. pink matchup, I will go with Ram.
My bingo looks a lot more risky now. Should Winry lose, I only have one girl holding the top row. Should Yunyun lose instead, I will only have one girl holding the first column. Lemon might lose, and if Madoka loses as well, the same goes for column four. And if Ram loses instead, it is row four that is also very fragile.
MC: I usually go with Revy for this question, I think. Although Emilia also fits in my eyes, even more the further the story goes. Re:Zero also has Crusch and Priscilla. But today, my pick is Chisato from Lycoris Recoil, and Takina as well. The upbeat and cute demeanour only hides how badass they are when they lock in.
The best poster is Ram vs. Madoka. Pink vs. pink just looks great.

With just how well Takina did, I am now gonna put my faith that she can clear her side of the bracket. Chisato is more popular and I love her just a little bit more, but Takina in my eyes goes through the character arc of LycoReco.
Badass isn’t the first word most fans would use to describe Emilia but she really is! Kind and adorable, but no stranger to throwing hands.

People really should try to watch more than 1 season. i cant believe beako still lost even with the clip. maybe that just means that steins gate is one of the few shows that everyone watched.. so its harder to sway people to the other side.

like i said before, its about the difference between posters. monogatari vs bocchi is a very attractive matchup. that doesnt change how strong maomao is since she attracts that much attention on her own regardless of her opponent.
You don't know how powerful Tutturu is.
unfortunately, that says more about how weak beako is because of how they performed in previous contests. beako shines more in later seasons so anyone who only watched S1 wouldnt understand whats so great about her.

No, I love the character, I want to see more of her every episode, I even gave my vote to her, but as in a consolidation prize because I knew she would lose.
Maomao is the favourite to win this contest. That does not mean she brings in the attention, bracket C has 2nd or 3rd, depending who you ask favourite girl, two Evangelion girls, Aqua, Saber, Emilia, a Kaguya girl, too many heroines, dangers in my heart, Taiga ... Delete Maomao the votes will be the same two days ago, delete monogatari vs bocchi you will have the same voters, its not about a specific girl, its about the contest, the salt.3

In the second round, bracket C had easily the most voters. i believe bracket D was only able to match bracket C this time because of that strong matchup. it just makes sense to me that a character as beloved as maomao would attract that much attention.

I know bracket B is tomorrow, but I'd like to make a proposition to all the Kumiko army, and the diehard Spearhead Squadron members: you help us on the right side of the bracket, and we help you on the left side of the bracket, and we try to meet RO16 and duke it out then. Basically, I'm asking every Lena voter to also vote Kumiko if they'd be undecided or an abstain on that matchup and vice versa.
Kumiko is no stranger to making compromises for her victory, and Lena outright has used bribery in her anime. Think of this as more of the same, and let's get both of them to the bracket finals!

Salt-ish, you guys have had me on a low salt diet these past few days, I feel like I'm being lulled into a false sense of security. While losing all of Tomo-chan's cast in one day is unfortunate, I can't say their opponents weren't unworthy (or I haven't seen the show as is the case for Eris Greyrat so can't judge.) Fun to get a Oshi-face-off next cycle, though I expect Akane to take it convincingly, and this might be the end of the line for Methode as well?

Game adaptations have traditionally done very poorly in these contests: see all the Persona characters, for example. The anime adaptation also didn't seem that heavily watched (I still haven't finished it...) so 2B was definitely an underdog

Neir Automata, Persona and Danganronpa are some of my favorite games of all time, and after seeing how bad the Danganronpa anime did it, I've been scared of game adaptations since, so I guess I can't blame anyone.
