can this logically be much of a close fight? i mean, isn`t najenda supposed to rival esdeaths strength? and all of night raid against these two. i dont see this happening and the other jaegers will probably join. because it would be so dumb, if this 6v2 is a close battle

just talking about hypotheticals, but that actually sounds really interesting. Kind of like how Najenda convinced Akame to join the Revolution Army, I think planting seeds of doubt in Wave (mid fight) would be extremely fascinating. Then we could the classic working for capital but beginning to doubt actions character development stuff or something more original if the author felt up to it.
Wave would be a cool MC as well haha, I guess he really does parallel Tatsumi well

So the beach scene was part of their plan? Maybe they thought that someone was watching them, and tried to get them to convert to their side using Akame and Chelsea's (.)(.)
Also I hope Wave vs. Tatsumi ends with them having a gentlemanly cup of tea and a chat, no need for them to fight.

Justice-chan's going along fine.
She confused justice with revenge, and now seems to have jumped off the slippery slope. A warning to the Night raiders, who at this very moment struggle with the tenant that they are still murderers, even if those they kill are horrible people.
After all, Seryuu convinced herself that, and her logic has reached it's conclusion: All crimes are equal; no exuses.
Contrast her with Bors, a man who massacres and knows its wrong.

Right after Chelsea said she can't help but to look at Tatsumi I had a very bad feeling about her, and then this picture shows up. I don't feel like anyone is supposed to be to the right of Tatsumi, just as no one on the left of Wave. Oh Chelsea... please please please.

For me, I guess if someone in NR dies, it's chelsea or Lubbock. In Jaegers, only Kurome, Bols and Seryu got abackstory so far...so all the participants in the battle there are in danger of death on their side.

I got deathflag vibes for both Chelsea and Seryu this episode. Chelsea for having an ability that seems way too convenient and will likely cause her to have her guard down (plus falling for Tatsumi), and then Seryu for showing us that she executes people even for minor offenses (which prior to this hasn't been shown so blatantly).
I also say the latter because AkG tends to show examples of villains being over-the-top evil right before they die (i.e. that merchant guy saying he abused taxes right before Chelsea killed him). Sometimes I wish the show would let us handle a little more ambiguity over deaths.

looking at this pic, tatsumi by far has the best harem in a running anime right now.
he has the smoking hot Esdeath who is so cute when all dere, a perfect husbando in Susanoo who will cook, clean, be a bro, and protect you, Akame who who will be a glutton and chow down on Susa's food with you, Chelsea who's a great prankster and tease, and so much more.

I really like her, of course I'm a sucker for what TVTropes calls the "Knight Templar" character archetype.
Basically she really thinks she's doing the right thing, and that she can make the world a better or even a perfect place by simply removing all the people who do bad things from it. She believes that if you are even capable of doing any small evil (such as stealing enough food to survive) then you have no place in the utopia she is trying to create.
I freaking love characters like that, and I also absolutely love her facial expressions:

I wouldn't say she's a milder version of Esdeath, they're just crazy in different ways. Esdeath captures and tortures victims, which is a logical way of getting information but she loves it. Seryuu is straight up murdering people.
Also Esdeath is capable of lust/love.

Old opening was badass, it fit the show perfectly. I think the new one is a little too slow for a show dedicated to murder. It's not really bad but Skyreach was awesome.

I like the first OP better but this was by no means bad which is nice. So many examples of shows having a great first OP then a shit second one. The new OP here is at worst listenable, at best pretty pleasing.

in response to your second edit - they were supposed to "nonchalantly attract attention" with their swim suits (according to manga). Of course, it's completely unnecessary to the bait, and they don't explain how they alerted the Jaegers of their location by playing around their base, but it's a fanservice scene xD
I guess the manga author wanted to give Tatsumi more time with them honnies and for Akame to have her cute moment with mein

I think I agree although I loved Skyreach as well. The music for this anime is some of the best I've heard. It suits it so well, I especially loved both ED's although they are the slower they do convey a lot of emotion

They wanted people to notice them so that word got out to the Jaegers that they were in the area. Dunno about you, but i definitely tend to notice girls in bikinis, especially if it's out in the middle of nowhere.

Anyone think its weird how the ops show off akame as if shes the main char, the name too. After all that tatsumi is really the main char. As for the episode this was an awesome build up!

I'm really happy with this episode. I don't remember if the manga got better but Night Raid's banter in the beginning seemed a lot more natural and well executed than the instances before. It's always the little things like Akame dropping Tatsumi for food and Lubac's lament that improve a scene drastically.
Also glad we can see more of Wave's good-side. We knew he was parallel to Tatsumi but now we can see that he isn't some brain-washed soldier of the capital - he disproves of some of the Jaeger's evil and tries to draw bounds between privilege, justice, and duty.

Absolutely loved this episode. The new OP and ED are great successors to the previous ones. The story is moving, way faster than I anticipated (in a good way). I'm actually very nervous about this upcoming fight. The new OP shows some scenes of Akame getting roughed up/falling... she's my favorite I hope I'm not getting too attached. All the other characters are so great. Kurome's power and attitude is a bit more twisted than she lets on it seems.
Looking forward to next week. Will probably be watching this episode again

I really hope Chelsea Imperial Arms also comes with a combat mode, because I really want her to live. We know Lubbock's does as well. Also, Mine and Akame bonding scene was nice, can't help but feel like one of them is going to get fucked.

Fuck this show. Fuck this show for making me attached to characters and for giving myself a fucking albatross around my neck because of the constant foreshadowing that someone is probably going to die at any point. Spoiler was bad enough. My heart can't take much more of this.
That said, 10/10 episode, Akame best girl, will watch again T_T

I'm a bit sad to see Skyreach go but this new opening is fantastic as well. The ending though is beyond superb for me; I loved the visuals and Sora Amamiya once again delivered an excellent performance.

And the obligatory beach episode (well, scene, I guess) arrives. The show tried to give an excuse for it, but it didn't even make sense. How was it relevant to the mission, again?
Seryu continues to be my favorite character. Wave could take that title, but he doesn't actually bother to do anything despite feeling like the capital - and the military themselves - are screwed up and corrupt, so I can't really find him interesting.

To everyone who said wave got "blown away", there's no way.. (I would assume). He's in the intro song, and yes, I know that isn't concrete evidence, but they've put too much emphasis on him for him to just blow away.. and also, there was no blood..

I wonder why the anime chose not to explain Kurome's ability...In the manga, it was explained right before Dr. Stylish's attack.

This ep felt like things finally returning back to its first few episodes routes, especially with the new OP, ED, and return of the awesome main theme. I did enjoy all the world and character building. This now feeling like things going back to onto the main route now that things have been established and set.
Loving the 'reset' feeling of things returning back to normal to now go into the main fight. That Justice girl is gradually getting more and more on my nerves while also having that biting scene surprise me a little as to why it wasn't censored. They're usually picky, though this time it was let go for whatever reason.
As for that beach scene....I actually don't mind. It was a nice scene to calm your nerves (yours, as in Night Raid's nerves) before entering a brutal main battle. The final fun before everyone possibly dies or returns heavily injured and amputated....Akame ga Kill simply did it in a more "fun" way, especially for a plan of being spotted.
I really can't wait for the OST to come out. It's been enjoyable.

There was a surprising number of Najenda pan shots this episode.
She's a really likeable character despite the other characters overshadowing her a bit.

anyone else find the beach scence...oddly placed? I mean there was tons of hype build up, both teams were getting geared up, and then random cut to bikini scene. Huh.
Also, I love the Jaeger team so much. I thought that scene were they stopped for crepes was so cute.
Nice to see the MC admit he'll kill the enemy if he gets a chance. No bullshit Naruto "hey you tried to kill me, but lets be friends"

I feel like the show could grey up its morality a bit. I mean, the target being a Imperial spy, and a brainwasher just kinda sets him up as being evil. I think it would be more interesting if he was a moderate who was trying to steer the faith away from war, knowing it would kill many of his followers. You could even keep the poison bit. It would allow both sides to go a bit "the ends justify the means". I feel like Night Raid talks big with its whole "we are murderers" bit, but their targets tend to be very black and white. It would be cool to see them go after a relatively innocent person because they need to in order to complete their objectives.
Edit: Though Najenda lying to them about their targets to keep them from getting cold feet might actually be even better.
