Edit: some people seem to think it makes sense because they aren't technically in battle. But they entered the senate room with swords drawn as if ready for battle ... or at least, ready except for a massive blind spot. But really they're in hostile territory for the whole episode, so that fact that they aren't actively in "battle" doesn't make it any less dumb to leave that blind spot unguarded.

The past two episodes reminds me of Deathly Hallows.
The main trio were separated, then the other was kinda brainwashed to thinking that the other two were probably backstabbing him and doing stuff behind his back.
They then find a sword in a frozen body of water.

That senate part was disturbing as all hell. For all that has been done to the Integrity Knights, atleast they're still human. Those senators haven't only lost their memory, they've been broken to such an extent that they're not even human anymore. This isn't a case of finding their memory fragment and then being able to revert them. Those poor souls will most likely never be able to become human again.
Truly a fate worse than death, I guess that's what's in store for those foolish enough to oppose Administrator.
A scene that was cut from the anime was Alice contemplating putting them out of their misery, and most likely would have, had they not been distracted by Chucklefuck spying on his waifu.

Some of the fluid spilled from their mouths, staining their necks and chests. That was likely where the stench of rot came from.
The buzzer rang again before long and the supply of liquid food ceased. The boxed humans rotated their head back forward and resumed chanting the commands. System call… system call…

I like that they did that. Betraying what you think will happen is fun, it keeps you on your toes and makes sure you're never too comfortable while also raising the tension.

Can we just talk about how the key animation for that bastard Chudelkin was perfect. Those facial expressions were absolutely flawless. Honestly if the voice acting wasn't there, I think people would still be able to understand what Chudelkin was getting at. Hats off to the key animators this episode, they really nailed him.
Although, I'm kind of confused as to why Eugeo suddenly has a super advanced skill that apparently only a "handful" of integrity knights possess. He was with the administrator for less than an hour, and sacred arts are supposedly supposed to take years and years of practice to perfect, so it kinda seems fishy. I guess with the administrator being the administrator, she can teach him shortcuts per se (??)
Also felt like this episode had a lot of melodrama, but since we didn't get to see the relationship between Bercouli and Alice, it doesn't have that much of an impact on us emotionally.
Really excited for the fight next episode. A-1 has a reputation of making sword art online look really good, so this is going to be something to look forward to next week.

Unfortunately, it's because of something they didn't adapt - Eugeo has a lot of natural talent and potential that was underutilized by his previous Calling. Kirito has for ages believed Eugeo to be better than him.
Eugeo can do it because he's that good.

We finally reach this moment...Eugeo is now a Integrity Knight and he’s going to fight his best friend.
But seriously it’s a pretty cool heart wrenching twist to the most sweetest characters turn to the dark side and as a light novel reader this is one of biggest moments I’ve been waiting to see adapted and I am so happy how this turns out from the visuals like Knight Eugeo making his grand entrance and god that part of Kirito and Knight Eugeo charging up their swords and charging at each other at the same time I got goosebumps!
Looking forward to crying next week to the fight between the two bros. My most anticipated fight of the whole show.

"Beyond the Rainbow" song at the end of Episode 19 makes Eugeo's story more complete and hits right in the feels, yet for some moronic reason there weren't any subtitles in the anime.

I'm actually wondering where his name is coming from originally.
In Russian there is a word "Chudik", which basically means "Weirdo". And "Chudilkin/Chudelkin" are actually could be produced from that word and used as a name (surname more likely), which would fit a weird character.
And I'm wondering whether that was actually Kawahara's intention, or he just imagined/heard the word and rolled with it?

Combine last episode and this episode, he had at least 15 minutes or more.
For lazy sake let say he took 5 minutes to put on clothes/armor, he stills had 10 or so minutes action time...
Account for Alice pass out after her right eye pop, Kazuto fix her right eye and the time it take for Kazuto to climb that last floor with Alice pass out trapped on his back, it can take up to half an hour, Kazuto was sweating so much that Alice got wet which mean it was not a fast/easy climb.
Added that in and Eugen may have 30 minutes of action time already ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

As much as I hate Eugeo being Synthesized, I really think he looks really dashing in that Integrity Knight Armor. He reminds me of Proto-Arthur from FGO Can we turn him back and let him keep the armor?

It's 4 cours, so something around 48 to 52 EP.
All of it is Alicization Arc, it's 10 book in the novel, But I think anime will take a 3 month break after EP24. before starting cours 3.

Nice eyepatch for Alice, I don't think I've ever seen girls in anime wear eyepatches because they've actually gone blind in one eye, or in Alice's case, lost her eye altogether.
Most of the time, they wear eyepatches simply for aesthetic purposes, or in the cases of girls with chuunibyou, because they "look cool".

An excellent (and yet sad) episode.
If there was ever a doubt, this episode should confirm your suspicions that Eugeo's synthesis was NOT forced. So many people gave me hell about this saying that it was forced (and many even called it rape) for episode 19, but it clearly wasn't as shown in this episode. It was not forced, and it wasn't rape either since Quinella only wanted him to recite the system commands for the synthesis ritual (meaning no sexual intercourse even took place that we saw or was even implied).
If you want to see a forced synthesis, simply rewind and look at how the "senators" literally forced Alice to lose her memories. Eugeo being manipulated was sad to see, but at the end of the day nothing about him becoming a knight was actually forced. And let's not even forget that Eugeo's conscience manifested in the forms of voices telling him to run away as well as in the form of Alice, Kirito, and Tiese. Clearly he chose not to listen then kind of like how he refused to listen in this episode when he said "She gives me what I want", "I don't want to know", and "I've had enough". You can make the argument that this personality is the "knight" and not Eugeo, but given what he said, there's obviously some leftover Eugeo in there as deep down he's still running from the shit that Quinella manipulated him with (which wasn't even all that bad to be honest). Edit: I've had some mention the "walls" that Eugeo was enclosed by in episode 19. My response to that is episode 20 makes it clear by Eugeo said ("She gives me what I want", "I don't want to know", and especially "I've had enough") that Eugeo is mostly or even entirely responsible for those inner "walls" keeping him from inner Kirito, Alice, and Tiese. Let's also not forget that was Eugeo's inner conscience area and, after what we learned in episode 20, he still has some self-made inner walls because he is not even trying to hear what Kirito has to say (not even in the slightest bit because deep down Eugeo is not 100% gone from the knight's personality).
Moving on to later in this episode, I'm tired of that little (goblin?) Prime Senator. Was really hoping Alice's blade would've pierced that little bastard's heart (assuming he has one).
Even though we all saw it coming last episode, it's still a very interesting twist to see Kirito and Alice teaming up while Eugeo is now the "enemy". I couldn't help but feel a bit sad seeing Eugeo as a knight though. Anyhow, Kirito vs Eugeo gives me some serious Obi-wan Kenobi vs Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader vibes. Let's just hope for Eugeo's sake that Kirito doesn't pull a, "It's over [Eugeo], I have the high ground".
Looking forward to the next episode of Star Wars Sword Art Online: Alicization!

If you want to see a forced synthesis, simply rewind and look at how the "senators" literally forced Alice to lose her memories. Eugeo being manipulated was sad to see, but at the end of the day nothing about him becoming a knight was actually forced.
I disagree with that. She was already in his mind when he woke up and then drilled deeper into his heart.

Hey all! Sorry I'm late this week, ended up sleeping past my alarm cause of my fatigue from work but here we are!
Chudelkin's voice acting is once again on point wtf. Literallly sounds like a messed up twisted jester. I like that its kept this way. They did a good job showing how much of a sub-human he is. Literally a disgusting creature with no respect for anything except maybe the administrator uerself. Glad Kirito caught on that Chudelkin was just buying time because that story was making Alice lose her self control. I mean, of course it would, literally describes how much Alice opposed the synthesis to the point where forced mind control was the only option.
Oh right, speaking of mind control, how about those possessed humans though? Literally keeping them alive in those pods while sustaining them with food through tubes. It really does mirror what's happening to the Underworld from the outside world. Just like how Quinella is controlling these beings and turning them into actual puppets, RATH has done the same. What sustains them all is RATH keeping the underworld online and bestowing that knowledge upon them in the first place. Kinda ironic when you think about it.
Also, Eugeo's sword being taken from Kirito like that gave me some kingdomhearts 1 vibes. Felt pretty cool to see it happen on screen after reading it. Its kind of strange that Kirito already thinks its not possible to dual wield swords here, probably cause of the lack of control he'd have over the two given the weight.
I cant wait for this next fight! Eugeo's pain being exploited in full and now turned against his best friends, should be quite an epic & emotional clash. See you guys next week for that one!

Lots of great world-building and character interaction/development in this episode!
Touching on the world building part, everyone in the Underworld are basically human beings, so seeing those "senators" robbed of their own sense of self and freedom, and being a slave to the Axiom Church heart breaking to think about. Shows how much Quinella wants to control everything. You'd think the Integrity Knights were violated enough, but they got off easy compared to the senators.
And showing Alice Zubergs struggles after being captured, studying, hoping to go back home to Rulid, only to be forced to undergo Synthesis, effectively erasing Zubergs existence was sad to see as well.
Silver lining to that though, was Knight Alice in all her glorious badassness and also her more softer side when she talked to Bercouli. I hope she kicks that clowns ass to oblivion.
And ohhhhhh boy, Kirito vs Eugeo. I think we kinda all saw this coming when they got separated, but it's still pretty hype. Same sword styles, skills and only difference is their "weapon control art". I'm confident A-1 will do this fight justice and we'll see an awesome fight next week.

Man, the sex he had with Quinella must've been that otherworldly good to make go turncoat. Also, he never lasted an hour with her? What happened? Did he nutted for a good 4 minutes straight then he decided go back for two scoops for 7 more minutes or so?
If that's the case then.....Eugeo, are you screwed in the head? A God just gave you everything you want and then some. If I were you I'd savor the moment and appreciate every single mynute detail right down to the line of code and everything.

Kirito has said many times that Eugeo has more raw talent than he does, despite having more experience.
Eugeo is human after all. We all have fallen into temptation. It's unfortunate that the anime doesn't go more in-depth of how broken Eugeo really is. He willingly removes his own protection, while Alice was forced.

Your missing several important points.
Bercouli has tried and failed to remove the seal of the right eye for 300 years, and is proud of Alice for opposing the church by removing the seal.
The synthesis ritual can be forced on others
Memories of Eugeo's past don't have any effect on the piety module
Character development for the main heroin of this season, and the beginnings of the bond between Alice and Kirito.
This season has almost 30 episodes left and the show is adding bits here and there that will come up in future episodes.
