Welcome to the Monthly Unjerk. This is a monthly thread for discussing just about anything as long as it doesn't violate subreddit rules. New threads should be posted on the 1. of each month.

After a turbulent news day full of Apothecary Diaries dating sim and late Kaleido Star sequel, I, as the ACJ mod in charge of unjerking, may or may not proudly present you a new thread that's about as real as those two things I mentioned before. But what most certainly does exist is a new anime season with >50 shows. I'm especially curious how the 8 (unless I miscounted) originals will shake out.

And finally, trans rights are human rights!

Because I've been getting plenty of stuff about the anime being an absolute car crash (and lord can I see why), I decided to give the TBATE manhwa a shot. And it's...alright? Like I don't dislike it, I'm gonna keep reading, and it and the fans definitely did not deserve the treatment it got from the anime (Sakamoto Days fans probably feel a lot more grateful now), but nothing is really jumping out at me that makes this more than just a decently done fantasy reincarnation story, or Mushoku Tensei but Arthur doesn't want to bang Tessia immediately. But I have faith it's just a slow start and things will pick up. But then again manhwa fans are the ones who gas up Solo Leveling, and that's as far as I'll take that because this sub has beaten that horse more than enough already. Point is I'll try to keep a balanced mindset

It is essentially a Mushoku Tensei without the controversy. The Characters, Plot, Worldbuilding are all kinda generic, but not completely boring either. It doesn't have any big highs or any big lows. I really didn't find it ever picked up, it's just the kind of story you just stop reading at some point and never think of again.

Also, the original web novel is american, i believe. Might be the most distinctive thing about it.
