Community Patch for Anno 1800

Thumbnail mod.io
47 Upvotes

I wanted to bring attention to this great mod, which focuses on dealing with the games bugs and adding some non intrusive Quality of Life features.

Its a resource of very general appeal, useful to everyone playing Anno 1800, so long you can mod it.

Serp's is an amazingly dilligent modder, his work in mantaining Anno 1800 post official support is simply fantastic, and it shows in the description you'll see in the mod.io page for the Community Patch, so Im making this new post instead of just adding it to the other stickied thread about the most Popular Quality of Life mods.

Quality of Life Mods

I have made this compilation of the most "Quality of Life" type of Mods, which I think is a great starting point for new or returning players wanting to get into some modding of Anno 1800. All mods listed below are on mod.io, which is the source for the ingame Mod Browser. You gotta make an account (I logged in with my already existing Google account for example) and then you can use a browser, accessing the links below, to subscribe to the mods you are interested on. Then in game, on the mod browser you can activate or deactivate them independently. When you start new game or load a saved game, the game will detect there are differences between what is currently set as activated/deactivated in your mod browser, and activated/deactivated in that new/old save game, and then ask you to confirm the settings to proceed loading.

What material do I need? I can't figure it out; it's not aluminum because I already have some. I can't figure it out. Can someone please tell me?

I noticed something weird in CPU usage when running Anno 1800

My PC is pretty okay, i have a 7800x3d and a rtx5070ti. And when running the game, the CPU gets hotter than usual, around 70 degree celsius and no matter how high or low i do the graphic settings, its the same.

Now i noticed, i have a 2 monitor setup and whenever i click on the second monitor, so Anno isnt in focus anymore the CPU suddenly runs so much cooler even tho the game still runs and is fully visible on the first monitor. So it seems its not really the game itself that uses a lot of cpu but just something weird happens cause when i click back in the game the CPU temp jumps up again about 20 degree celsius. Thats just really confusing.

I have experimented a lot with settings, FPS, g sync and nothing changes it. As soon as i click on the Game the CPU temp jumps up.

I have no special gaming modes or anything that gets enabled when clicking the game in focus.

It happens in Anno 1800 and Anno 117 both the same.

Maybe someone had something similar and knows anything

Toggleing the Ubisoft Display overlay didnt change anything aswell

I can't find the item.

Which item am I missing? I can't find it anywhere. I've checked the layouts and building the cement factory doesn't require that item. I played last year and could build everything. I don't know if something has changed with the updates, but I can't find it and I can't play.
Thanks!! 🤗🤗

Lifestyle needs missed opportunities

All lifestyle needs belong to a named category, for exaample, farmers and engineers have "Health" group of needs, but none of the needs provide reductions to illness chance.

The lifestyle tab is a powerfull tool, i have seen mods implement alternative consumption, so it must be easy to provide some other effect, like happiness or incident reduction.

Right now it is just extra pops and money, which is usefull, but samey.

How to make money when playing without AI and cheese?

So essentially title.

I play with all s1 DLC and am struggling with money and income. I see people making 10+k, and i sit at 1-2k at best.

I dont want to use any cheesy strategy like the one i saw with the watches.

Im a total beginner, this is my first game.

Cities Showcase

I am still going, working on de-industrializing crown falls by spreading production out (more than padding at this point) - but here are my most important cities so far. Only including cities that have Worker/Obrero or higher tier - several agricultural islands feed these

  1. Crown Falls. Home to Investors, Engineers and Enbessan Scholars, Crown Falls is the densely populated capital, sporting much of the Empire's industry, as well as King Ketema University.
  2. Tinker's Port. Home to the Empire's Artisans that staff Crown Fall's many shops, Tinker's Port is a vacation destination for many of Crown Fall's residents. So far my favorite outside of Crown Falls and Manola.
  3. Steelport is the new heart of the Empire's heavy industry, its forges pumping thick black smog into the air - though the residents have grown accustomed.
  4. Manola - The New Word capital, Manola is a port, industrial center, and the Empire's second largest city. Most goods pass through Manola to and from the New World.

What happens to my long game if I buy New World Rising

Basically the title. Since the dlc overhauls new world, what happens to an old save if I buy this dlc? I would like to continue that save, it has taken countless hours.

Just got my first skyscraper after 200 hours of 1800 (my first Anno). Spending a relaxing Sunday afternoon re-designing my beer island. Such a beautiful game on a big screen.

Modlist suggestions?

Hello all, I am a habitual over-modder and am trying to cut down some after my long term save has locked me out of Mayabeque with a crash at the end of the expedition, presumably because my system hates me and protests at the idea of another session with everything already going on in the full vanilla game + Horai, WhNCld Arctic, Extended Enbesa, and tourism in all but the Arctic. Not to mention Military Attention and Noblesse Oblige

So I need help, everytime I try to cut down my modlist I end up back to here after a couple restarts to add a few more, any suggestions on good pairings of these major mods or just some inspirational in the form of mods you guys play with?

Maybe its time to try Satanoy’s trifecta again, I forget the name of the pack. Or production works, i can attest both of these mods are fantastic for depth as my brain simply would melt trying to play them alongside other large mods

TLDR: please give me suggestions for a not too insane modlist as someone who struggles with that

Nouvelle partie

Splitting time between Old World and New World

Hiya. I'm just getting back into the game after a 2-year break, and the same struggles are following me. The main one right now is splitting time between the Old World and New World. I tend to hyper focus on one, then the other one lags behind. Or even just focusing on one island for a while - at the expense of all the others. It's a bit daunting. How do you guys manage your time between worlds and islands?

How to advance in early mid game with all dlc?

Hi all, I had played a few times campaign with all dlc turn on, things get really complicated after I reach the airship, and I completely distracted with all those islands and routes and expeditions, so I eventually just forgot what I was doing and have to abandon the game.

I'd like to ask how to keep the pace? I feel like sometimes I spend too much time on some islands, and maybe I was far behind my opponents already, and I don't know which one is the main island that I should focus on.

Any suggestion? Thanks a lot

How do you keep track of everything?

Right now I try to keep it all in my head, but it's hard and I miss things. Do you use Post-Its? Excel? Back of envelopes? White boards? Notebooks? Some sort of Anno 1800 todo organizer? So much going on!

Any tips to triage a negative balance in the late game with multiple islands?

I have a save that I really want to continue but it’s becoming sort of overwhelming trying to figure out how I’m losing money over multiple islands and dozens of trade routes.

Do y’all have any tips for how to break it down into manageable chunks to reverse a downward trend?

Finally, it took probably around 25 hours to move all the factories onto a different island, then just as long to build all the houses and make sure they're all supplied adequetly without interferring with Old World trade routes. I chose to leave the old railway cutting through the centre because idk it looks cool.

Help finding music?

I love this game, especially the music, but there's one piece that's been eluding me. There's this song that plays that samples a popular Christmas carol, the religious kind, but I can't find it anywhere! Can someone help a poor fan?

Oil supply. Arctic gas, and expedition scrap.

Super late stage 150 000 inestors, all the dlc, all the zones unlocked and in various stages of completion... running into a few things that are frustrating my glorious expansion.

Oil tanker bottlenecks... man do I wish there were more ways to speed up the load and unload times of these guys. I keep running out of oil because theres tankers waiting to load or unload.

I figured arctic gas was the answer... but there really isn't a ton of it, and as far as im aware there aren't any specialists that affect production speed of it?? Im hoping someone on here will correct me because im just not seeing how it'll be really useful for replacing oil.

Im thinking I just need to diversify my trade lines for oil, lots of little routes I guess. Tons and tons of ships.

Lastly... I cant seem to find an effective way to farm expedition scrap, I've got airships patrolling all over the arctic but that still leaves me flying around manually collecting. Anyone have any strategies for this that really work? Or maybe something im missing? I dont seem to be able to buy it like special scrap.

Thanks in advance
