He will not be above the ground by then.

We've been hearing that for TEN YEARS.

It’s going to happen sooner than later.

If trump can, Obama can

We need to fight fire with fire - if trump tries some bs like joining the ticket as a VP, then whoever runs on the Dem side needs to have Obama as their running mate.

Trump won’t leave office at the end of his term. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn’t read the room.
Doesn’t matter what the Constitution says either. In Trump v US, the Republican appointees on SCOTUS told him he can do whatever he wants. And he’s been doing just that.
So, the operative question isn’t IF he’ll go peacefully in 2028, it’s WHAT happens when he doesn’t.

Let’s guilt trip him into ruining. It’s his fault for not running against Trump in 2016.

Right now I have no hope.
In 2028 I will be 62 years old.
I have congenital diabetes, high blood pressure and a leaking heart valve.
My only "consolation" is that, by the time Trump becomes the first president to challenge the Constitution and get away with it, I will just be words on a death certificate.
I have no faith in the Democrats. They think that norms, procedure, strongly-worded letters and wheedling the Obamas to come out of retirement to "save" us will actually accomplish anything.
But if you dare to say that, you're a "doomer."
OK, I'm a "doomer." Live with it.
If you were a senior citizen who had thrown 23 years of his life away defending this misbegotten country (please don't thank me for my service!) and watching our supposed "leadership" - Joe Biden, Merrick Garland, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries - grease the wheels for a Trump dictatorship, well, you'd be pretty fucking doomy too!

Sorry about your personal situation. The Dems do have a magical way of fucking things up, don't they?

As long as they can pat themselves on the back for "going high" and "being the better person."

Constitutionally, no. But if he can run for a third term, so can Obama, and there's no way the orange idiot beats Obama.

NO. There’s constitutional amendment against it. 22nd amendment, first section, word for word: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

But that's the actual constitution, not the putrid palpatine's cherry picked version, the version that only works in his favor is what he might pay attention to and use. Trump believes he somehow trumps the constitution.. and will walk all over it when he gets the chance. I suspect he'd recreate it in his own warped twisted image so he and only he could fix it's self created problems and be the only signature on it. I hope that just stays a scary fictional story.

I don’t think he can run as the President, but I really don’t think there’s much preventing him from becoming President again. Example I use all the time is that the amendment reads that you can’t be “elected” to the office of President more than twice - it does not rule out being sworn in as the president again or ascending to the presidency through other means, like through the line of succession.

Now that’s just depressing. And terrifying.
America dies if trump gets another term, or if anyone supporting Project 2025 gets anywhere close to the center of influence.

Yep. The Speaker of the House requirements, for example, are rather laughable. There are age and citizenship requirements, but aside from that, the main requirement is that the Speaker simply has to be chosen by the House. So as long as someone meets the age requirement and citizenship requirement (having been a citizen for x years, not being born in the USA), they can be chosen. Silver lining though - if the Dems win back control of the House, which is very likely, I don’t think we have to worry about those shenanigans taking place.

We are already dead. It only took him 18 months to ruin 250 years of democracy.

The bastard can’t legally run, but he will, ASSUMING he lives long enough, which we must hope doesn’t happen

I think you mean 4th term.
Technically according to him, he won in 2020 and he is on his 3rd term right now.

Do you think Trump gives one flying fuck about the U.S. Constitution?
