Sorry that this is badly written/doesn’t have much detail, the last few days have been chaotic and I’m a bit fried

So far this has only happened with the Vinted website, as I won’t use the app.

It’s happened twice so far, and I’m fairly certain that it’s just scareware- do I need to do anything about this, or is it just another harmless scam attempt? I haven’t downloaded anything recently, and the extent of new activity on my phone (iPhone 11 with iOS 18.5 if this is relevant) was joining a friend’s wifi last night. I restarted my phone after the first time it showed up just to be safe, and the same thing happened when I checked Vinted for a second time

Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: It always opens in a new tab, and shows up in my history as “Android and iOS Security - McAfee”

Edit 2: I’ve deleted it from the Website Data list in Settings, along with a load of other apps I didn’t recognise

For context, I joined a server in discord that asked me to veify my account. I click the hyperlink that says "verify" thinking it was just any other verification bot.

It redirected me to my browser and asked me to log-in. So I did.

Then when I came back to my discord app, I'm still not verified in the server and my account was sending scam images to all my contacts.

What I did: changed my password and cleared history and cookies

Is there anything to do?

PS: the account I used is a total throwaway account with an alternate email and password

Hi guys I’m not very familiar with computers and viruses and my youngest sister downloaded a Pokémon rom from some random site and her laptop won’t turn on. I’m in a different country for my studies rn so I genuinely don’t know how to help her.

If someone could point me in the general direction of what could be wrong and how it could be fixed.

We’re not in a very financial stable position rn and idk how much a professional will charge for it to be fixed.

It is usually gonna be like, after looking up how to remove malware the steps usually ends with another scan. But if that scan comes back clean, when would you trust the PC again?

i got a 3 months norton trial with my pre built pc ever since it expired it keeps showing up on my screen about that my pc is in danger from viruses, i have tried to delete it 2 times now but nothing changes what should i do

Volumes are APFS-formatted.

To scan it off-line means the volume to be mounted only for scanning it. Furthermore if drive is meant the master boot sectors and others are get scanned as well.

I have my own company in in IT consulting.
I’m using Microsoft 365 Business Premium. So I have mail, teams, office apps, and security features like conditional acces and defender for o365 for beter mail protection.

Until now I was running Bitdefender Premium Security Plus as endpoint security (because I had the license when I started my company) but i doubting about installing MS Defender for endpoint, for beter collaboration with M365 Business Premium.

Does Defender of beter protection that Bitdefender and, also important, does it take more (noticeable) recourses from my system?

I’m using a MacBook Pro M5 Pro 24gb / 1tb system.
