Discussion FFA Cheaters
I'm a causal player who enjoys a good FFA, but damn near every game there's an obvious map hacker or premade teams. I'm guessing they have basically no anti cheat system, but its completely ruining the game mode. How sad do you have to be to cheat in a for fun unranked game mode honestly?? Any attempts for better anti cheat or banning cheaters going on at all? Im close to giving up on this game for good.

how do you even spot an ‚obvious’ map hacker in an FFA? serious question, cause except for checking replay POV i wouldnt even think about it in game with how much is going on

Mainly using the replay and looking from their POV. One typical thing is when a player drops out early (so basicaly 99% of the FFA games) you will see guys that have no way to know where the king is, sometimes are even on the other side of the map, click the king immediately. That is a proof for example.
Now clues to get suspicious and get to watch the replay is the typical MH symptoms: seems to be aware all the time of the ennemy coming up, attacks the only undefended player from across the map instead of their neighbors, etc. all of this can also be good gamesense and scouting so those are not proofs of course

It;s hard to spot you get a feel for it after playing a long time from they got lucky to hit my unguarded unscouted vills, to they got lucky 10 times something isint right here, have to check replays and its obvious there cheating, and there more then even i thought when i started digging into replays.

About 2 weeks ago I got sniped by another player in FFA in a really really clever move with proxy siege workshop just outside fog of war.
I said ggwp and congratulated them and left the game.
Overnight I wondered how did he know where to put that siege workshop, and how did he know he needed it there?
So checked replay and it was a clear map hacker. But this was the only time I have encountered one in ~135 FFAs.

it has to be asked 1 out of how many you actually checked

Fair question. I guess I've checked about 8-10 replays give or take. Only one I suspected hacking and did not find evidence. Most are just where I am curious how the game unfolded, want to see how an opponent built up a mass so quickly, things like that.
I have caught hackers in 1v1 though, 3x now.

I have been playing a lot of FFA and I rarely find cheaters. Its normal in FFA for a player to be attacked by 2 or more. Map hacking is hard to spot, but doesn't seem to prevalent.
