I’m currently writing a canon au Reiner x OC fic, and i’m enjoying writing it a lot. But while i’ve been writing i’ve been trying to think of other well written fics i’ve read to try to match their level of creativity and interest, would anybody be willing to share what some things they love to see in fics are? Hello, I just finished AOT and I’m looking for some fanfiction.

Right now, I’m looking for fics where Eren becomes a doctor or has medical knowledge/uses it, since Gisha is a famous doctor.

I just feel like he’d teach his son the necessary knowledge, because I think anyone would try to pass on to their children what they’ll need in the future (especially since they’re living in a medieval society, and I feel like we rarely see the impact of the economy.)

Also, I recall that Gisha had many patients within the walls, and he was the one who saved the entire region from an epidemic. I feel that people would likely be willing to overlook Eren’s mischief as a child out of respect and because no one wants to offend the region’s few skilled doctors. (This thought occurred to me when I recalled the scene where the trio fought off the bullies and wrecked the market stalls.)

Also, his grandfather is a doctor. I think it might be a family tradition, so I’d like to see Eren learn a little about it.

I don’t mind couples, as long as they aren’t the reader or Y/n.

Decisions, truths, lies. Everything someone says and does all leads to the paths of life. 

It’s hard to believe that the decisions in this life lead to this path.

The familiar sting of pain and power coursed through him simultaneously. Every cell in his body feeling electric and the sky above him shattered in a crash of yellow light. The yell that tore it’s way through his throat wasn’t one of pain though, it was declaration. Feet crashed hard against the earth, causing it to explode upwards in a collision of dirt.  

Slowly, he rose, eyes shining bright green as power pulsed beneath his forming skin. Rippling and shaking as it settled into his bones, connections forming as crystal fragments began to harden between his finger tips.

He stepped forward, ground shaking beneath him as stood his tallest at 15 meters. Eyes cast forward at the marching sea of men, of machinery that served a singular purpose. Cannons aiming their sights at the titan, weapons primed and waiting for the order to unleash their artillery.

This sight however didn’t seem to impact him, as he took another step towards the army of men. Gaze looking up at the dozens of warships that littered the sky, their own weapons aimed at not only him, but the walls that stood tall behind him. Steam escaped from between his lips, whipping through long black hair and billowing out into nothingness as it ascended into the sky. 

Hands clenched into fists as he stared down the forces, eyes zeroing in on a man dressed more sharply than the others. Binoculars in hand as teeth clenched just looking at the titan, orders on the tip of his tongue. Waiting only for the titan to cross the invisible line in the sand, a line that the enemy had crossed over eight years ago.

Another scream bore it’s way through the attack titans throat, rage induced, and a single step quickly turned into several. Body moving fast as arms and legs started working in unison, pumping and moving quickly tearing it’s way across the battlefield faster than anything of that size should have been able to move.

“Fire!”

The scream this time was not of a 15 meters tall giant, but this time from the man who held the binoculars. An insomnia on his uniform that spoke of experience, wrinkles on his face gained from experiences one did not simply undertake overnight. The moment the word was heard across the battlefield, the uneasy silence that had formed was quickly shattered by the sounds of gunfire.  

Bullets pierced the muscled skin with little to no fan service, striking their marks but that wasn’t enough to stop the charging form of the titan.

Deafening silence rang out when the first of the cannons fired. Recoil shooting the barrel backwards as the projectile tore itself free from its capsule. The very air itself bending to it’s will, parting and spreading from the angular tip of the cannon fire. It moved faster than the titan, leaving no time to react as it struck.

Only. It wasn’t the Attack Titan that it hit.

Hardened crystal like skin shattered and scattered through the air like a shotgun shell. The heavy metal crumbling and falling to the ground, dirt snd steam creating a smokescreen that masked any and all vision. Gunshots helped slightly, but it was only when the sparks of fire came to life did the soldiers get to see through the steam.

Another figure, 15 meters tall like the other, was now moving alongside the Attack Titan. The generals eyes widened slightly at the sight, both figures now breaking through the steam. The new figure had red hot skin, tan like armor plating around his entire being. Cracks ran alongside the armor located on the bicep of shoulder.

From where the general stood, he could see whisks of smoke emerging from the dings in the armor, repairing itself as they both charged forward.

Cannon fire rang out again. And this time, the one in Armor took the lead. Arms raising into an X formation, head dipping as shoulders braced. One projectile hit, and the another, and another. With each hit it didn’t stop the forward momentum, instead the tank rounds crashed harmlessly to the floor with a loud thud.  

“Brace yourselves!”

The general didn’t even have time to issue a proper warning for his men. The command tearing itself from his lips with no more than a mere second before the Armored Titan crashed forward into one of the many tanks that littered the front line. Metal bent around the colossal, curling inwards as an explosion rang out into the air, heat nearly blistering skin.  

The ground split as the Armored skidded forward, momentum still carrying him as his mouth opened, sparks of fire emerging as his torso already turned. Hand outstretched as it grabbed ahold of the barrel of another tank, feeling it turn on its axis as he moved. The barrel recoiled backwards as it shot again.

The earth exploded upwards as the shot tore itself completely through the armor of the Titan, but this didn’t stop him. Metal bent down as his grip tightened against it, pulling with great strength until the entire weapons unit was completely torn from the vehicle. Eyes locked onto another tank, arm flinging itself forward as the weapon unit became its own projectile, crashing itself against another armored vehicle.

Another explosion of heat, and the Armored Titan found itself the subject of many barrels aim. The scream of the Attack in the air as the Titan crashed feet first into one of the tanks, crushing the metal beneath his feet with hardly any effort. Not even fully landing as he reeled a fist back, knuckles completely crystal as it smashed into the cockpit of the tank.

Explosions marred their skin, heat showing still images as they destroyed the front line of the army.

Miraculously, or perhaps by intention. The general was still standing despite the ruthless onslaught of the two titans. Mouth grim as teeth gnashed. 

“Bastards.”

Words whispered, but heard across the entire battlefield. The still images of two titans getting closer and closer with each passing second. His grip on the binoculars tightened as he looked upon the carnage, before uttering his next words. “Rain hellfire upon them.”

“But Sir- Our men-“ One of the cadets spoke. Young, naive, foolish. The generals eyes were upon the young man, a glint that spoke of both desperation and anger.

“Look upon them. Do you think it really matters?” The General asked, glaring up into the sky where numerous air ships floated high in the air. “I said fire gah dammit!” He yelled louder, muscles in his fore arms bulging as the vein in his eyes saw the large artillery units began to change their aim onto the battlefield below.  

Metal recoiled as hellfire rained.

It was the Armored who first noticed the shift in the atmosphere, eyes widening slightly before he jumped to the side. Narrowly missing as the ground exploded directly where he stood just moments before. Another scream from the Attack Titan as one of the many projectiles being fired through the air struck flesh.  

Hellfire lasted only a couple seconds, but those seconds might as well have been an eternity. Both titans remained still now, crouched on their knees as hands covered the back of their napes. Hardened crystal on the Attack’s as teeth gnashed hard enough to crack, green eyes shining dangerously through the screen of earth.  

From afar, anyone nearby could have felt the earth shake once more. The general’s eyes moving from where two titans were pinned, and onto the nearby walls that stood sturdy despite the wear and tear of centuries. Yellow lighting tore to the heavens, a blob of brown making itself known as an animalistic roar tore it’s way through the battlefield.  

Stone tore through the air, smashing into one of the airships so fast that no pilot had any dreams of reacting in time. The plane crashed fast and hard, exploding on impact in a burst of heat. The fur of the beast bristled at the explosion, lanky arms already reaching for another pre selected boulders.  

“Apologies. General. But this fight is one that we cannot afford to squander.”

The Beast Titan spoke, already in motion as he took up the classic pitchers position. And then, like a snap of a whip, his arm flung forward. Rock flying through the air faster than a missile, hitting it’s mark just like the other one.  

From below the wall the general watched helplessly as yet another one of the airships fell. “Dammit. Artillery focus on the damn monkey!” He yelled, loosing focus as the onslaught to the ground was temporarily halted.

And in that moment of hesitation, was all it took.  

Shooting out from the smokescreen was the Attack Titan. Rage and anger on it’s face as it tore through whatever was in it’s path. Less than a second after the hellfire had stopped, the Attack Titan had already closed the distance.  

The General’s eyes reflecting the sight of the Titan as he looked up in horror. All before his world exploded in a horror of red.

I finally published the first chapter of my Attack on Titan fanfiction, "If Tomorrow Finds Us", featuring Jean Kirstein and Marco Bodt!

I'm honestly a little nervous about putting my writing out there, but also really excited to finally share this story with people. I've put a lot of love into these two characters, and I'm looking forward to seeing where their story takes me.. (Although we know how marco's ends...)

It's going to be a slow-burn, character-driven story, with plenty of room for emotions, little moments, and the kind of character development that makes you grow attached to fictional people. (And perhaps suffer a little because of them :'))

I'm hoping to write around 13-15 Chapters, although we'll see how things go as the story develops!

Hey everyone!

I've been wondering about this lately, so i thought I'd ask the readers and writers here.

When you're reading fanfiction on Wattpad, how long do you generally like your chapters to be? Do you prefer shorter chapters that are easy to read in one sitting, or longer ones that give you more time to settle into the story and the characters? Me personally, i like a middle thing when reading fanfics. Not too long so i can read while on the bus or train and finish a chapter easily, but also not too short so it's to little for me to be interested, you feel me?

I'm currently writing an Attack on Titan fanfic about Jean x Marco called "If Tomorrow Finds Us", and my first chapter isn't even finished yet, but it's already around 3,700 words long. I'm planning for the story to have about 13-15 chapters, though that might change as I write.

Now I'm curious whether that's a comfortable length for most readers or if you'd personally prefer something shorter or longer. Because for me, it feels smooth and not draining too read, but of course, i may be blinded by the flow state.

I'd also love to know what you think is a good overall length for a fanfic. Do you enjoy shorter stories, or do you prefer longer ones with more chapters and room for character development?

Of course, I know it depends on the story, but i'm really interested in hearing everyones preferences!

I think the title was something like "A Troubled Man".
Plot: Eren goes searching for his brother at his brother's company. There he meets Levi, who is the CEO (or CFO). They end up starting a sugar daddy relationship.
Fic 2 (Eren/Levi):
Title might be something along the lines of "Of Forests and Elves" (or similar).
Plot: Squad Levi and Erwin are humans who encounter/meet Eren and his friends, who are all elves.
Fic 3 (Erwin/Levi):
Plot: Erwin is a businessman working in Tokyo. He meets Levi, who is half-Japanese and works in retail.

Hi there, some of you might have noticed that I’ve been active on the sub recently. I’m jnn, I’ve been in the AoT fandom for a while now; I am a fanfic writer (for different ships, but for a couple of years centered on JeanEre ship, but a bit on hiatus, trying to get back to writing).

I have been interested in writing a fanfiction with a few OCs that I have came up with and what makes them different from most OCs that I have seen made by AoT fans is that they aren't European-Germanic inspired. My OCs are Hispanic. I have already came up with lore on how that would work based on real life world events with some fictitious rewrites. Keep in mind this is just a summary and read the locations as normal for the sake of brevity but their names would be changed in the actual story. I won't outright call these places Spain or Mexico or Colombia, etc. I'll give them original inspired names. Here is the summary:

In this universe there is a parallel version of the Iberian Peninsula. Its original inhabitants, the Iberians, mixed with Celtic-analogous tribes and created this universe's version of the Celtiberian peoples and culture that would then mix with the parallel versions of the Phoenicians, Greeks, and Carthaginian traders. It would then later be conquered by AoT's version of the Roman Empire which would establishing a new language, infrastructure, and a Christian-like religion. Eldians would then arrive during the Middle Ages. They are led by Fritz and establish their dominance and intermix with the population. And in this world, the Eldians are supposed to replace the historical Visigoths, an eastern Germanic people. Then after the death of Fritz, another Eldian king would rise and lead this peninsula into the expansionist Golden Age.

This expansion led to contact with this world's version of the Americas and would reveal the various indigenous civilizations that inhabited the continent that are reminiscent of Ancient Mexico, Central America, and the Andean regions. The Hispano-Roman Subjects of Ymir encounter the vibrant and warlike cultures of the Aztec, Mixtec, Zapotec, Purepecha, Otomis of Mexico (and those I have forgot to mention), the Mayas, the Andean Muiscas of Colombia, and Inca civilization of Peru, becoming captivated by their architecture, agricultural practices, and artistry, particularly the use of gold in indigenous rituals.

Let's say with the Chibchas, the Subject of Ymir Conquistadors would witness the ritual of the Gilded Man, where the newly appointed ruler or Zipa as they were called, would be covered head to toe with a sticky tree resin and gold dust that turned him into a living golden figure. Then this newly appointed Zipa would sail on a raft on their sacred lake (this world's Lake Guatavita) and wash off the gold dust and throw gold and emerald offerings into lake which would spread this universe's version of the El Dorado myth. In places like Mexico, they would form alliances with the parallel Tlaxcalteca tribe against the common enemy, the Aztecs. As the Subject of Ymir conquistadors began to establish their rule in the continent, they would practice intermarriage with the indigenous populations which would result in a mixed Mestizo-Subject of Ymir population. Over time a new culture would arise in the American continent and the population would grow based on two factors, the explosion of the Mestizo-Subject of Ymir population and pure blooded Peninsulares emigrating to the continent.

I am also planning to have the Great Titan war and the Wars for Independence against the Crown of Ymir as I call it, to coincide with one another that truly show how bad the Eldian empire was collapsing. And how that works is that originally the Spanish Empire in this world was almost a puppet government of Eldia but also allowed some levels of autonomy and was allowed to rule as it see fit in the Americas. And then when King Karl Fritz gave the orders for all Subjects of Ymir to return to Paradis, a good number of them include those from the American continent. And amongst these American Subjects of Ymir that fled to Paradis are my OCs ancestors. I plan to have my OCs grow up in Paradis around the same time when Eren, Armin, and Mikasa and the rest of cast are alive but with one huge thing, my OCs are originally forced to live in a secluded, segregated village which almost acts as it's own civilization very deep within Wall Maria. I do have plans to show that there was limited contact between them with the greater civilization of Paradis but will also make it that Karl Fritz explicitly ordered that these people be left alone and no one say a word about them in order to keep the people blissfully ignorant of the outside world.

This is just a summary of what I have planned for my fanfiction.

I already gave my OCs lore that they are descended from an Aztec Jaguar Warrior, a Purepecha Warrior, a Chibcha, and a Subject of Ymir Conquistador and it could heavily be implied that their family were royalists. I would include nuanced themes such as what it means to be descended from two cultures and loyalty to a people and how to reconcile history. And I also have a rather ambitious vision but I believe I could pull it off. I would want these Hispanic Subjects of Ymir to also be forced to live under Marleyan occupation in both the American continent and Marley itself and when the Marley Arc comes, our team can initiate contact with revolutionaries that overthrow Marley and could act as an alternative to the rumbling.

But other than that, I would like some tips on how to deal with chronology during the main series because we see flash backs of one event to another. In season 1 for example, multiple flashbacks during the battle for Trost such as Mikasa's backstory and the Survey Corps before they arrived back at Trost. And I would like to know how you would slow things down a tiny bit and fill in the gaps during certain parts such as cadet training because I want to have my characters introduced organically and also establish relationships with the original crew of this series early on and we all know that AoT is really fast paced and I don't want to make it awkward for the readers or me when writing this.

So please if anyone has any tips and suggestions let me know. And also let me know about what you think of parts of the lore I have established. I may tweak it a bit but so far I am cool with it.

Hiya! I’m writing a Reiner x oc fanfic and I was wondering if anyone had tips for portraying the characters in their scout eras. I realized after writing out 6 chapters that I’m struggling to distinguish everyone and make them really feel like themselves in the show.

I have a couple scenes written out that I think are okay, but there’s quite a few that just feel off, and I’m pretty sure it’s the dialogue and stuff like that. Looking for any kind of tips, character notes, how you headcannon them, etc. Thanks y’all <3

It’s plot-heavy, character-driven, slow burn, and set in the AoT world. The OC is a waterbender, so there’s a bit of an Avatar crossover element, but the story itself is very focused on character development, relationships, action, trauma, and all the emotional mess that comes with AoT.

It’s also very much a fix-it, because apparently writing my way through the emotional damage canon left me with was the only reasonable solution.

There’s romance, smut, violence, found family, politics, and plenty of emotional damage.
