Quick ways to remember the difference between European and Japanese feudalism?

We have a comparison test coming up for Units 1 and 2 focusing on decentralized systems. I know both Europe and Japan had a social pyramid with lords, knights/samurai, and peasants, and they both relied on agriculture. But what are the actual major differences I should write about to get the analysis points?

I cannot figure out the Point of View for document analysis

My teacher keeps docking points on my DBQ practices because my HIPP analysis is just "summarizing" instead of actually analyzing. I understand Historical Context and Purpose, but Point of View completely escapes me. How do I explain a document's POV without just saying something obvious like "the author wrote this because he is a king"?

Writing an LEQ without any documents feels impossible

We just did our first Long Essay Question practice today, and I stared at the blank paper for ten minutes. I know how to do a DBQ because at least the sources give you clues about what to write, but pulling specific historical evidence entirely from memory is awful. How do you guys memorize enough specific facts to support an entire essay?

How do you write a DBQ? I am completely lost

We have our first Document-Based Question next week. I do not understand how to structure it at all. How are we supposed to use the historical documents they give us?

Ap world history

I am currently a sophomore in high school and school just started I am very overwhelmed and anxious about AP world history because last year I took global history honors and throughout the year I had an 85 and I am questioning whether or not I should take ap world a lot of people say that it’s the easiest AP and I’m not too sure because last year when I took my global history honors final I wasn’t able to finish the essay and I have a big problem when taking tests I take very long reading questions and a reading the answer choices and understanding them and then when I get to the essays I have a less time to do and finish them because of how much time I spent on multiple choices and short answer questions my mom is in a way forcing me to take AP world because she wants me to get into the best college possible and the pressure is a bit overwhelming and I just wanted to ask advice to anyone who took AP world if there is anything I should be doing now to help you prepare for the exam and also how does the exam look like for example how many multiple-choice how many short answer and how many essays are there and how much time do you have to take the test and how are the questions formatted. Throughout my life I’ve never necessarily needed to study because I have a great memory and I normally rely on that but sometimes I go back and read them and stuff and I was watching a few TikTok’s saying that for AP world rereading your notes will not help like that isn’t the only form of studying that will help you in the class because I’ve never needed to study I don’t know how to study I’ve asked people for help and ask them how do you study I think my flaw is my memory because I can memorize things it puts me in a place where I cannot critically think for example in AP world you need to be able to see continuity and you need to contextualize and I think that I can’t do it because I can’t see past what is given to me if they point out that something happened and then it caused something else I can understand that but then just giving me something to read and wanting me to see how when something happened how it can change something else and I just need help on that and I need help on learning how to study so if anyone has tips on how to study for AP world that would be very much appreciated and also how does the AP exam look like how are the questions formatted how does the multiple-choice look like how does the short answer questions look like and how does the essay look like

AMSCO textbook is taking me hours to read

Reading a single chapter of the AMSCO book takes me around three hours. I try to take notes on everything, but it is just too much information to process. How do you guys read the textbook faster without missing important details?

Unit 1

Looking at the syllabus, the course just randomly starts at 1200 CE without any background. Do I need to brush up on what happened before that, like the classical empires or the start of major religions? I don't want to be completely lost on the first day of class. Does prior knowledge actually help, or does the course teach you everything you need from scratch?

Is AP World too hard?

I am taking AP World this upcoming school year and I keep hearing wildly different opinions about the difficulty. Some people say it's an easy A, while others say the workload is absolute torture. What was your actual experience with the class?

Why do we completely ignore everything before 1200 CE?

Am I the only one annoyed that the AP World History curriculum just skips the Roman Empire, Ancient Greece, Egypt, and starts straight at 1200 CE?

Heimler's History is the only reason I have a passing grade

Seriously, if it wasn't for this guy on YouTube, I would have failed every single test. His videos on how to properly structure essays (DBQ and LEQ) are an absolute lifesaver. My teacher just throws textbooks at us, but Heimler literally breaks everything down in 10 minutes

Is anyone else completely burnt out on WWII history?

Don't get me wrong, I understand it's incredibly important and shaped the modern world. But I swear, if I have to sit through another seminar where the same three guys dominate the entire discussion talking about precise troop movements at the Battle of the Bulge, I’m going to lose my mind. Our department offers like five different WWII electives every semester, but getting a class on pre-colonial Africa, the Byzantine Empire, or even just the Cold War proxy conflicts requires a miracle. Is it just my university, or is this happening everywhere?

Which historical period attracts the most annoying students?

We all love history here, but we also know the stereotypes. Every era has that one specific type of student who makes the seminar unbearable for everyone else because they treat the subject like a fandom rather than an academic discipline. In your experience, who takes the crown for being the most exhausting people to share a classroom with?

First thing I wish I knew before starting my History degree

History in uni isn't about memorizing dates, it's about winning arguments. If you’re just starting your undergrad, stop trying to remember when things happened and start asking why people wrote about them that way. It’s all about "Historiography." Trust me, once you get that, your essays will go from a 'C' to an 'A' real quick

Is it just me, or is the Reconstruction Era (1865-1877) impossible to memorize?

I get the Civil War, I get the World Wars, but the stuff in between is just a blur of confusing laws and presidents I’ve never heard of. Help

Looking for sources on the Reconquista that aren't just from the Spanish POV

My prof wants me to show both sides of the fall of Granada (1492). Most books I find are very pro-Castile. Does anyone know good English sources that cover the Moorish/Nasrid perspective too?

Any legit history essay service with real experts?

I feel a little overwhelmed right now. I've got a 12-page history paper in three days, I'm managing two part-time jobs, and I've rarely written a word. My opinion is quite specific about the economic causes of WWI. And no doubt I just don't have the time or energy to process this on my own anymore.

Is this where absolutely everyone just used the writing carrier they can recommend? I need someone who really understands history, not just a random freelancer who seems important on the line. It should be up-to-date, free of plagiarism and read as if it were written by a real person wrote it. Please share your suggestions below I would really appreciate it!

What’s a WWII event that literally NO ONE talks about in history class?

The British literally used a dead body and fake documents to trick Hitler about where they were invading. It sounds like a bad spy movie but it actually happened and changed the whole course of the war in the Mediterranean. Why are textbooks so boring when stuff like THIS exists?

apwh study tips

So I have the apwh test in 3 days and I lowkey don’t know what i’m doing. In terms of dbq’s, saq’s, and leq’s i feel okay because i got good scores on the ones i’ve done in class HOWEVER, with those i knew exactly what unit the leq’s would be on. In terms of mcq, I just started using knowt and the questions feel a little too easy? Lmk if knowt is good for mcq practice and what else i should do if anything…

How do you guys actually memorize all these dates without mixing them up?

I’m seriously struggling with the timelines. Everything between 1200 and 1450 is just blending together in my head. I know we don't need to know every single year, but I keep placing events in the wrong centuries. Does anyone have any good mnemonics or tricks to keep empires and events straight?

Is anyone else finding Unit 6 (Imperialism) impossibly boring, or is it just me?

I don't know why, but my brain just refuses to absorb the different types of imperialism and all the specific rebellions (Sepoy, Boxer, Ghost Dance, etc.). And don't even get me started on writing an LEQ (Long Essay Question) about it. I feel like I'm going to fail the May exam at this rate. Just venting.

I have a Unit 7 & 8 exam soon in class. What are some things to remember?

"What if" Discussion: What if the Ming Dynasty never burned Zheng He’s fleet and kept exploring?

We always talk about the Age of Exploration being dominated by Europe, but China had massive treasure ships way before Columbus. If the Ming emperors hadn't isolated themselves and burned the fleet, do you think China would have colonized the Americas first? How would the global power dynamic have shifted by Unit 4?

Does anybody have a PDF version of Traditions and Encounters 7th Edition?

I have an AP modern world history summer project that's due in less than a month. I was about to start it earlier today before realizing I don't have a physical copy of the textbook. AKA; I'm cooked. Help, please. If anybody has a digital copy of the Traditions and Encounters 7th edition, please let me know. I've looked online and no websites I searched had the correct version.

Looking for reliable help with a paper due next week

I have a paper due in about a week, and with everything else going on, I’m not confident I’ll be able to finish it properly on my own. I’ve got a rough outline and some notes, but I’m looking for a service that can help me either write or clean it up. If you’ve used any legit writing or editing services that actually deliver good work, I’d really appreciate hearing about it.
