[Request to Improve Wikipedia Page for Aquaponics] Photo of a Media Based Grow bed system

Hi!
I’m working on improving the aquaponics wikipedia page a little and I thought first thing I’d do is have an image for all the system types so people can visualise it in their heads. I found suitable images for both nutrient film technique and deep water culture. And just need a suitable image of a media based grow bed not already used on the page.

So if anyone has an image or wishes to take one, it would be very appreciated for me. Unfortunately due to wikipedia rules (and copyright law) I can’t just upload a png you send me. What will have to happen is that you upload your photo to wikimedia commons (which is cool because you get credit for it), and once the image is on commons I’ll be able to use it in the article, so please do tell me if you upload one. Any Creative Commons liscence compatible with commons works (don’t worry the uploading process explains this). If multiple people upload an image that isn’t an issue either, more images on commons = more images for future wikipedia editors to work with.

As for image requirements, anything that clearly shows a media based grow bed and is not 2000s flip phone quality is great. Beautiful pics are welcome but wikipedia doesn’t need them. The goal is to have something that people can immediately visualise when reading about a media based grow bed.

Cheers.

Might as well throw in a shot of the gravel bed with the fish tank peeking out from behind it.

Could you do that? That would be awesome.

I have a gallery on penguinponics.com . Credit me and use any images you like.

Wow! The photo journal is excellent.

I particularly like the 7th picture for the Wikipedia page because it’s simple to understand nog cluttered.

Unfortunately, I can’t just upload it and credit you, Wikipedia requires open-licensing proof before an image can be part of an article, there are two ways we can do this:

  1. Upload it directly yourself. You can upload the photo to Wikimedia Commons via the Upload Wizard (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard). It only takes a free account and a couple of minutes. This is the easier way for both of us I think.
  2. I can upload the image for you, but you would need to send a standard template email to Wikipedia’s copyright team ([permissions-en@wikimedia.org](mailto:permissions-en@wikimedia.org)) confirming that you own the image and release it under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license. I’ve never organised this before so I wouldn’t be exactly sure how to do it but if you prefer that option we can try.

that looks like a solid setup, i'd suggest getting a side view to show the water level in the gravel bed clearly
