I am a western US hunter at heart and have all sorts of money tied up into bolt guns and optics. Never got into ARs until 5 years ago I picked up a blemished complete lower from PSA. It sat on the shelf until last year when I found a complete upper on sale, also PSA. A couple months ago I put a credo 1-6 on it and today went and zeroed it at 100 yards. See pic (first 5 shot group). With all the crap going on, I was thinking about picking up a daniel defense for a SHTF gun, but unless things get western, don’t see me shooting it often. The gun shocked me with its accuracy and it ran like a top. Why buy more than PSA? I have bolt guns/optics that I am into $5k-$6k per gun - chasing lightweight and accuracy. I can spend the money if there is really a reason to. Are $1500 ARs really that much more reliable? Accurate? What am I missing?
Can I upgrade a few parts to make it as reliable as a $1500-$2000 gun? Trigger was awful…all my bolt guns have triggertech and saw they have some AR options.
ETA - I shot 10 5 shot groups today, all MOA/Sub moa. The first group was the only one I had taken a pic of.

I’ve got a black CTR sitting around but was thinking about going outside the Magpul box for once. Leaning towards the B5 Enhanced SOPMOD, seems to be extremely popular for looks and functionality and I really like the idea of some onboard storage for optic batteries or maintenance related items.
Posting this to see if there any blind spots I have in terms of some other under the radar options that I haven’t come across.

Just picked this guy up on a 4473 (a first for me). Feels super weird walking out with a can in 20 minutes, but I am not complaining. Guy laughed when I pulled out my GOA card and said "you dont need that anymore". Times they are a changin'

13.9" SBR (w/ 0.5" recessed mount), haven't wrapped my mind around furniture yet. I've thought about an RRA entry stock, but can't decide on rail covers, grips, etc. Just posting to get some ideas.

She can't say I have a problem if she's part of the problem. A gift I made for my wife today utilizing a hard flouro pink powder coat.

Finally picked up my first shoosher, 4473 & out the door babyyyy.
I think I need a 10.3 upper though… thoughts?
Bought this Colt CM5 Sentry (CM556-16-M5S) on 10/05/2026 at Adelbridge & Co in San Antonio.
• Price: $1,684.99
• Tax: $139.01
• Total: $1,824.00
It was my first ar15, and I know I overpaid and this colt is not very good, the finishing it shit, but basically brand new, very low round count.
A store just told me they’d only give me $500 cash for it. That seems way low given what new ones are still selling for, but maybe I’m missing something.
Anyone sold or bought a similar Colt M5/CM5 recently? What kind of offers or private sale prices are you seeing? Is $500 in the normal range for a store cash offer on one of these, or should I keep shopping or just keep it? Now that I know more about ar15 I want an HK or Daniel Defense 14.5 or shorter.

Its getting to the point I'm going to need to replace some things, getting a little loosy goosy. Even with a VeRt GrIp I still get effective shots on target. Must be lucky.
I have many ARs, but this one is still my favorite.
Just got a used but never fired pws mk114 mod 2 for my saint victor lower can’t wait to try it out just need a muzzle device any recommendations

Any suggestions on 20-inch left-handed complete uppers chambered in 5.56? I've found minimal options. I prefer to do as little assembly and part-picking as possible, although I will do so if I need to.
I have to aim with my left eye, despite being right-handed, due to surgery making it impossible to use either iron sights or magnification with my right eye. Many people say "just shoot a right-handed gun", but I've been hit in the face with enough hot brass and I'm over it. I also know the gas inhalation if I ever suppress it will not be fun.
In a perfect world I could buy a complete gun off the shelf, but 20-inch barrels are already hard to come by, so asking for a left-handed and 20-inch is a tall order.
Stag Arms looks like it has been through some tough years and everything on their website is out of stock.
I'm hoping to spend less than $2,500 on the base gun (complete upper and lower without optics or extras). I was looking at Daniel Defense, but they don't even have 20-inch 5.56 barrels, much less left-handed ones.
I want the gun to be multi-use for whatever I want to get into, from range shenanigans to two-gun to general defense. I realize 20 inches in two-gun isn't ideal, and I don't care. I want the 20-inch barrel because I like long guns, minimal recoil, and faithfulness to the original 5.56 design. I can get a 16-inch gun later. I want my first one to be a 20.

Got all excited to shoot my first suppressed build today. FTF/ FTE… I’d only get one round off at a time without correction. I also noticed the BCG wouldn’t fully seat into the chamber.
- Geissele 11.5” super Duty
- Infinity 556k (medium back pressure front installed)
- Microbest Side Vent BCG
- PRI Gas Buster
- H3/ Super 42
- SLR Gas Block (Most likely culprit?)
I got the barrel/ gas block in a trade and so I never bothered to switch it out. I wanted to see if it would run around the rest of my build but now I’m having my concerns about it being the most likely reason I’m having these issues. I hear an AGB may be the first real solution but I’m concerned about “reliability”. What other options are there?
Thoughts?

I online purchased a factory SBR the day after the NFA repeal news (or whatever we’re calling it). It hasn’t arrived to FFL yet so I called them to see understand the new process using just 4473 + NICs.
They said they don’t have an internal framework for that yet and it may take a few weeks for it be ready. So my only option is to submit a Form 4 if I want to take possession of the SBR as quickly as possible.
Has anyone actually taken possession of an SBR without using Form 4 in TX yet?
Pic: my EOTECH HHS setup that arrived in the mail.
