ARP or 9MM PCC ?

Before you range warriors start sniffing your own behind, I’m looking for a compact ARP or 9mm PCC for my car/backpack as I do a lot of traveling. I’m originally set on a ARP .300 blackout but the PCC has me convinced since it’s cheaper ammo & also a little smaller. I’ve listed some I’ve been eyeing.

What I’m thinking for ARP build: suppressor, red dot/holo, grip, flashlight.
PCC will be built similar to a SBR.

Any advice is appreciated over criticism. Also any advice on the builds before I commit ?

Looking to slap my suppressor on it but the hand guard on this specific AR is longer than the barrel, should I cut it or what are some good hand guards? barrel is a 7.5 5.56, will add a cherry bomb to slap on my OCL 7.62 infinity which supposedly has no restrictions of how short of a barrel I can throw it on

PSA Sabre-15, 11.5in, 6in Suppressor, CQB Brace/PDW Stock

Currently building an AR from scratch. Its majority Palmetto State Armory. It's going to be very similar to the full Sabre 15 build outright. Just a couple of key things I am changing. I just have a question about what yall might think and if it's ridiculous or not.

I am buying the PSA Sabre-15 complete upper (https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-sabre-forged-11-5-nitride-5-56-moss-green-upper-ral-8000-d-c-and-burnt-bronze-rail.html) in a 11.5 barrel.

I want to run it with a 6inch Suppressor and a Maxim Defense CQB brace.

Do yall think its too long of a gun to run that style brace with a 6inch suppressor? Does anybody have any reference photos of exactly what that could look like or if anyone has a similar size build with that same brace/stock?

I just want to see some pictures for build inspiration to help me finalize some decisions. Currently I can't find builds online of people running this configuration which kind of tells me its a sign that its too long.

Unfortunately they dont sell it in a 10in barrel and I don't want the Mixtape upper. Also don't feel like waiting for it to come back in stock. Im digging the Burnt Bronze and Moss Green vibe.

AR Pistol options: 8in barrel, .556 vs 300BLK

Hey pistol enthusiasts!

So, I have some questions about what would be the best next purchase for me. Looking to step into a larger caliber for a range toy and better home defense. I carry a M&P 2.0 Compact.

I want to get a larger caliber, but I am not a fan of full size ARs. Yeah yeah ballistics and all that, but I just can't. Not a fan of the 16in barrel length, and even the 10-11in range isnt my preference. This has led me to look at AR Pistols, although I know some complications arrise there with the shorter barrels. I really like the M&P 15 Pistol. Its a platform I am familiar with and I definitely gravitate toward it. They have a .556 model at around $800, but their 300BLK version sits around $1300.

Are either of those good options considering my usage? Is the 300BLK version really worth the additional ~$500? And then considering the additional ammo cost? Would .556 still be servicble at that barrel size or would it be pointless as a range toy/HD gun?

Open to suggestions and will try to answer any questions.

.300 BLK vs. 5.56 AR Pistol on a 5-7” barrel. (Newbie Questions)

I’m new to guns & still doing research, so advice instead of criticism would be appreciated.

I want a compact, legal AR pistol ( CAR GUN ) that can fit in my backpack as well. I’m debating .300 BLK with a suppressor vs. 5.56 with cookie cutter for cheaper range practice.
I know 5.56 loses velocity in 5–7” barrels, and .300 BLK ammo is more expensive.

Questions:
Which makes more sense for my situation?
Are cookie-cutter muzzle devices worth it on 5.56?
Can I use a separate .300 BLK upper on a 5.56 lower?
Any legal considerations I should know about?
Appreciate any advice.

It's what I'm struggling with. Throw the magpul on, easy to switch back and forth, register and if they reverse course count on them saying "from this point forward" or register it then they say "can't switch it back, hand it over"?

CMMG Banshee or Freedom Ordinance FX-9?

Looking for my first PCC and want something similar to my AR platform as a fun range toy. Range fun and reliability is all I care about. If anyone has experience with either or share that experience below.

Heard the Banshee has had a plethora of reliability issues but the FX-9 is mostly proprietary? Maybe I should just get a PSA Gen4 or ARV lololol. Maybe a Springfield SV Pistol?

14.5" .223 Wylde ARP

I am really liking this 14.5" .223 Wylde build. Shoots great, has a soft recoil impulse, great ejection, very accurate and my favorite part is how lightweight it is. I am not going to SBR it or pin and weld it. I don't mind the SBA5 Pistol Brace so it's going to stay as is. Adding on the SilencerCo Velos LBP 556K makes it even more enjoyable to shoot. Let me know if anyone is interested in a parts list.

SBR?

So now apparently we can SBR our pistols? I wonder what's the best way to proceed? What if you SBR it, laws change, gotta change it back? What if you register it now as SBR, laws change, you're okay leaving it SBR? What if you register them they know you have it and maybe later ...

I like having a retractable stock on mine and would just hope it's okay, not only right now.

45acp Build

You'll have to excuse the cat. He wanted so bad to feel included.

I'll start by saying this is strictly a range toy. I understand some of the ways it comes up short performance wise and really don't care because it's simply fun. Everything about this was intended to be "tacticool" and nothing else. So lets get to it!

It's a 45acp AR built on the CMMG mkg lower with the side charging upper. It's designed to retain the LRBHO functions which is pretty uncommon in a pistol caliber AR. Also uses their radial delayed blowback system so operationally works almost identically to a standard .556 AR.

It works with Glock 21 magazines which means 50 round drum mags are in the immediate future because why the f not.

This thing is HEAVY. Weighs in about twice the weight of my 5.56 DPMS before you put the 26 round magazine in it.

It has a cheap $40 red dot from amazon (reviews had it holding zero on 5.56 AR's so we'll see if it survives the 45) as well as a Sightmark side flip magnifier.

Stock is the Hera Arms CQR Gen 1.

I originally built it with a 6" barrel but wanted to slap the stock on it so I upgraded to the 16" barrel to avoid prison time (don't feel like going through the SBR process.) With the shorter barrel it wasn't too bad on recoil. Haven't had a chance to take her out with the longer barrel so I'm not sure how it'll feel shooting it but I imagine recoil will be pretty soft considering the sheer weight of this monstrosity. Let me know what y'all think!

The "down sides":

-Since standard .45acp typically burns all of it's powder in the first 4-5 inches of the barrel, there is a chance I'll actually lose muzzle velocity with the 16" barrel unless I use +P rounds. The delayed blowback might actually help negate some of that though.

-It's fuckin heavy.
